Isaac smiled at her and gently wiped her tears away from her face, "of course I would do that, I may be your guard but I am also your friend, I dont want you to be unhappy." he said as he looked at her and was glad that she was smiling now. If she stopped crying now then he would be really happy.

"But...But father wouldn't like that...and he'd have you killed. I don't want you to die..." she said and tried not to cry again, but failed. She began to cry again and she didn't care anymore, she was crying quite loudly. Just the thought of seeing Isaac killed, made her so sad that her tears continued.

Isaac held her closer and gently brushed her tears away. "and I wont die." he said to her softly and kept her close to him. "I would make sure that your father can get his hands on me and stay close to you. I would stay in the shadows of the castle and watch over you. I will do anything I can to stay close to you and keep you happy." he said to her softly.

Vera looked up at him. Why did he care about her so much? Maybe that's what friends did. "Thanks Isaac...you're a really great friend you know..." she said and calmed down. "We should go back to sleep...." she said quietly and sniffled a bit. "I'll tell father about a new room for you in the morning..." she said to him and smiled some.

Isaac smiled at her and held her close to him, "yeah I know, and your a good friend too." he said as he looked at her and he nodded, "and we should get some sleep." he said as he slowly pulled away from him and found that he didn't want to. But he couldn't be anything but friends with her, "and I would like that, hopefully it is a room close to yours." he said as he sat down on the floor.

Vera snuggled close under her covers and looked over at where he slept. "I'll see what I can do..." she said and smiled over at him. "Good night Isaac...I'll see you in the morning." she said to him and closed her eyes. She let out a sigh and soon was sound asleep like an angel.

Isaac smiled as he curled up into a ball next to her bed like a dog. "good night vera." he said softly before he fell asleep and found himself dreaming of Vera.

Vera didn't dream of anything that night. When morning came, she didn't want to wake up. She just snuggled more under the covers and continued to sleep. The sleep didn't last long though, because the sun was hitting her eyes. "Ughh..." she groaned and woke up.

Isaac was still fast asleep on the floor. He looked inoccentas he slept and wasn't even bothered by the light. He was drooling slightly and as he turned over he mummbled something qnd the only thing that you could make out was veras name. He smiled after saying that and continued to sleep.

Vera smiled and tiptoed over to her door. "Sleep well..." she whispered and carefully opened the door and stepped out. She hoped that Isaac didn't worry or anything and headed to the dining room for breakfast. "Good morning father...I have a question and a request...which would you like to hear first?" she asked as she hugged him and sat down across from him.

Her father looked at her and was surprised that Isaac wasn't around her. But he wasnprobably still asleep or something like that so he knew that boy would be here soon. He hugged his daughter back a d looked down at her, "I would like to hear question first." he said and wondered what she wanted to ask him. He hoped that it wasn't anything dealing with the prince.

"When is the prince coming over? I want to know that way I can go put on my new dress that you bought me!" she said to him. Vera looked at her father and smiled then looked down at the plate and just waited for an answer. She hoped that he didn't get mad at her when she stated her request.

The king was surprised by the question since she had showed no I terest in the prince and it made him smile. "he is coming over around three and I want you to be ready by the time he gets here." he said as he looked at her. "now then what was the other thing?" he asked

"Three...I will be sure to get ready in just a few." she said and looked sown at her food. "Oh...the request." she said and hoped he didn't get mad. "Father...I was thinking...I want you to give Isaac a proper bedroom with a bed and everything a proper bedroom should have." she said to him and smiled. "Please father?" she asked him kindly.

The king was surprised by the request but nodded, "I think I can do this. He does deserve a room now that he is protecting you. But where do you want this bedroom?" he asked and wondered of it had been a bad idea to make isaac her guard. He feared they where growing to close to each other

"Okay...well I was thinking a few doors down my room. Not too close, not too far." she said to him. Vera was surprised that he had agreed so quickly and easily. Vera then wondered when Isaac was going to wake up. he must be very tired...I just hope he doesn't get worried when he see's that I'm not there... she thought to herself.

The king thought about this for a moment and wanted to say that the boy would say in the fathest room away from hers but he knew that if he wanted them to be friends it would have to be close. "okay, he will be five doors away from you, that is the closest I will allow him." he said as he looked at her and smiled. He then heard a comotion and looked over at the door. Isaac stood there and his shirt was all messed up and his hair was standing up. He sighed when he saw Vera, "there you are, I got worry." he said as he walked over to her.

"Five doors down...very well." she said and smiled back at him. When she heard commotion she quickly turned to see Isaac standing there all messed up. She couldn't help but giggle at his appearance. "Isaac, I have some good news, but you should fix yourself up...you look like you've seen a ghost!" she said to him but smiled. "Fix yourself up and then come to eat something too!" she instructed.

Isaac relaxed when he heard her and nodded, "yes vera." he said and then headed out of there. He didn't have much to change into but when he headed back to vera's room there was clothing wiating on the bed for him. He guessed one of the maids had put it there and he quickly changed into it. He then headed back down to the room.
The king chuckled when he saw Isaac and then looked at Vera, "I think I made a good choice in making him your guard. I just hope that he doesn't become too attached to you." he said. |
Vera nodded. "I know...I think that we'll become best friends forever..." she said to him. Vera never actually thought that they could be so much more than just friends. Her eyes checked the clock and she sighed. She then began to eat silently thinking about the arrival of the prince. He'll mean nothing to me...I know it. I just hope father doesn't get too upset with me. she thought to herself.

King nodded, "I am glad that you have a good friend in him but only stay friends." he said as he looked at Vera and Isaac came into the room. he actually looked pretty nice and very nice. He was wearing a simple white shirt and black pants but he made it look like the best thing ever. he smiled at vera, "morning." he said and then sat down next to her. He looked at the food on the table and only took a apple and started to nibble on that. He wondered what was going on today and hoped he didn't have to leave vera.

"Hello there Isaac. You look very nice, good." she said and smiled. "OH! The good news!" she said and clasped her hands together. "Father agreed to give you a nice bedroom five doors down from my room." she said and continued to eat silently. She looked at her father and smiled. Vera wondered what Isaac's reaction would be, but she did know that it would be serios because her father was present.

Isaac smiled when he heard that he would be five doors down from her but wished he was a little closer to her. He simply smiled a little and bowed a little to the king. "thank you for giving me a room." he said and then smiled at Vera happily, he couldn't believe that he was getting a room. THe king smiled when he saw the bow and was glad that the boy had some manors.

Vera smiled at them both and continued to eat her food silently. When I am done eating, I think I'll take a shower and get ready for when this prince guy arrives... she thought to herself and sighed mentally.

Isaac ate his apple quietly and once he was finished he looked over at Vera. "so what are you planning on doing today?" he asked since he would like to know where he would be following her. But then he remembered it was the day the prince came and he hated the thought of the prince looking at Vera and only wanting her money.
