There was once a young woman who was deeply unhappy in life, wherever she went she sucked the love and joy from any situation with a cold and cutting comment. Her family were deeply saddened as when she was a child she brought nothing but happiness to the lives of others. In a desperate attempt to get back the daughter they knew and loved they contacted a wise man of the woods to see if he could offer any herbal remedies. The man said he had heard of this problem many times, explaining to the parents that as a person gets older their hearts get smaller and darker as they become bitter and cynical to the world around them. He told the parents to drop off their daughter at the beginning of his enchanted forest and get her to walk through it, if by the time she reached the other side she was not back to her old self they were to contact him again. Fearing that this was their last chance they acted upon the man's advice at once.
The young woman saw this as a waste of time, she never thought that there was anything wrong with her, especially not something a nature hike would sort. She started along the path and almost at once could tell that there was something special about the forest. Leaves fell around her as she walked, a gentle breeze cradling down to their new ground level home. They were a deep purple colour and as soft as finest spun silk. The air was warm and filled with the sweet scents of the plants around her. The deeper she walked the better she felt, almost like a smog that had surrounded her was clearing. There were animals in the forest, snowy white foxes with blood red hearts and tails. A particularly friendly fox came up to the woman and sniffed her with interest. She stopped to pet the majestic creature which had since sat down by her feet. As soon as her hand made contact with the warm fur of the fox she could feel a tingle all round her body, and with a small jolt she was plunged back into reality. The reality that her life was filled with joy, that everyone in her life loved her dearly, that even the worst things in life can turn into something good. This thought warmed the heart and soul of the young woman, giving her a much brighter outlook.
She quickly made her way through the res of the forest and back to her eager parents who were waiting at the other side. She embraced them with happiness and explained what her journey through the forest had taught her. From that day on the young woman returned to her previous form, bringing peace and love to all those in the land that needed her and guiding the lost souls into the enchanted forest that had saved her life.
