"no i'm not"she said as she followed him.As they got closer the object became clearer."oh my god "she said as the object turned out to be a cub from the Night pack.

Rafe wasted now time jumping in after it once it became clear it was a cub. He swiftly swam to it and grabbed it between his teeth. He swam with it holding it as high as he could before reaching the bank and letting it down gently by Xena.

"are you ok rafe"She said softly.She turned her head back to the cub who was shaking water of her.After some time Xena figured out who's cub she was.The cubs name was Rose.Rose had no parents because they died.Xena felt sorry for Rose because she had know place for her to sleep

"I'm fine. Is she?" Rafe said as he too shoke off his fur. He looked the cub over and was glad to see she was fine. He nuzzled Rose gently. "What were you doing out here Rose?"

Fang stuck his tounge out at Snow. "Ha Ha dad yelled at you" he said with a smile. Dresdus then turned to Fang. "Fang, you have to learn to be tougher than this. When you get pinned down, you can't just quit. Now you and Snow be quiet, your mother and I are trying to sleep."

Snow glared at Fang she bared her fangs then turned and nuzzled up to Frost. She closed her eyes and fell asleep.


Frost smiled as she laid down next to Snow. She closed her eyes and fell asleep.

Fang growled under his breath. he curled up next to his family and fell asleep.

"uh i dropped something in the water and i tried to go after it, but after i was in the water i realized i couldn't swim yet"She said hoping she wouldn't get in trouble."it's so funny"she said tring to make a joke out of it.then she started shiviring

"well atleast your ok"Xena said softly

"Yea." Rafe said with a sigh. He then laid down and curled into the cub lending her his body heat. "Come over to her other side Xena. If she stays too cold she might still die.

Fang awoke from his sleep. He went over to Frost and Nuzzled her awake. "Mom, why do you like Snow, but not me?"

Xandri's growl choked off with an odd sound. She cocked her head to the side and stared at the older human male as if she were trying to peer into his soul. After a few moments of this, she straightened and nodded her head once. She relaxed her body and lowered her tail. Sitting down, still farther away from the humans than before Xandri gave a silent signal to Roxas. Her signal for him to relax himself was her posture. She was calm and relaxed which told him that he should be too.

Roxas stared in shock at his mother. She acted as if she were comfortable around the humans. He shook his head in wonder but relaxed and sat down behind her.

Xena curled in to Rose as Rafe had instructed her to do."do you feel warmer now"she said to Rose

"yes"she said as she felt the body heat from both of them.She remebered her parents sleeping by her and all the fun they had before they died.She let out a soft whimper as her thoughts escaped her mind.

Rafe nuzzeled the cub at the sound of her whimper. He felt bad for the young one. Suddenly he heard something in the distance. His ears pricked but he tried not to tense too much to avoid alarming Rose. It was a sound he hadn't heard before. "Xena do you hear that?"

"yes"she said softly trying not to scare Rose."what is it?"she asked curious.

Rose moved closer to Xena."Mommy's warmer than you"she said talking to Rafe."What are you talking about"she said curiosly trying to get information.

Rafe nearly laughed when Rose called Xena 'mommy'. "Well Mommy's supposed to be warmer." He then turned to Xena. "I don't know. I want to go find out but I don't want to leave Rose here."

"go where? go where?" Rose asked."I wanna go with daddy"she whined.

Xena almost laughed as Rose called Rafe 'daddy'."what if daddy get's hurt" she said to Rose."I'll stay here with Rose"she said laughing as she turned to Rafe.

Rafe shuffled at being called 'daddy'. "Alright I'll be right back. I'm not going far so dont worry." He got up and headed in the direction the sound was coming from. He finally got a glimpse of the source when he made it to a clearing and could see the sky.

After Rafe left Rose got up and followed him.She saw him and stood by him."daddy what are you doing"

Knowing she wouldn't listen to her Xena watched Rose follow Rafe.She slowly fell asleep.

Rafe was surprised when Rose spoke. "Just looking at something. Come on lets go find Mommy okay." He nuzzeled the cub in the direction of Xena. His desire not to scare Rose was the only reason why he wasn't panicing.

Xena awoke from her sleep.She watched the birds who had decided to come back.

"OK" she said as she ran to the direction of Xena."mommy"she said as she crashed into Xena.She lifted her head to face the birds "I like the bird's"she said staring at the birds.

"Yea we all like the birds but now's not the time for them. We should get back to the dens." Rafe said nudging them both. "Keep her from looking up." Rafe whispered to Xena.

"yes we should."she said as she got up and started walking toward the dens."ok.i'll try"she whispered back."Rose do you want to race back to the dens."

"OK"she said as she started running to the dens."I'm gonna win she shouted to them."

"Come on let's not lose sight of her." Rafe said taking off in a moderate trot. "There's something flying around up there that's not a bird or at least not a bird I've seen." He explained as soon as he thought Rose couldn't hear them.

Xena went with the pace that Rafe was doing."is that what was making the sound" she said worried."I hope it's just a bird"she said sighing.
