Songs/Bands You Would Never Think You'd Like?
I really like the Black Eyed Peas, for instance, but I usually listen to Alt. Rock, Indie and Folk. Other unexpected bands:
3oh!3 Passion Pit (I almost feel I should hate them, but I LOVE them!) A.F.I. (although I think I'm starting to like this type of music since my sister moved in with us.) Bloodhound Gang How about you guys? |
I never thought I'd ever get into ska, the sound of those bands were never appealing up until about a year ago. To which I realized, "hay, this stuff sounds awesome!"

For me it only really happens with one song. Usually I don't like the rest of the band's music.. I heard this song called Hit The Wall by Brendan Canning (sue me if I spelled it wrong). It's sort of this type of rock song, that normally I think is completely self absorbed and hate with a passion, but this time I liked it.
Also, I'm normally not into heavy metal or hard rock or anything like that, but I love the song Nymphetamine by Cradle Of Filth. Then again, it might be better classified as Symphony Rock which I usually don't mind. |
For me, it's the Rap genre. =| RnB, yes, I can take and I like. But I never liked Rap. D: I guess it's cause I actually like it when people sing instead of talk. ^^;;
But then, occasionally there will be Rap songs that I do find myself liking a lot. xDD;; It doesn't happen that often, but there has been some instances where I appreciate the talking factor. :3 I can't name any real songs at the top of my head right now, but yeah, I'm more tolerant of rappers right now than I used to be. =P <3 |
I never thought I'd love chalga music, because it's mostly sung by women with fake breasts and is kind of gutter, but as long as I don't listen too closely to the lyrics, it's lovely.
I guess that was a whole genre, but I still think it applies. |

I used to be really into the hardcore american metal thing... Now it's Jrock, AFI, Birthday Massacre, and Nightwish. But I also like Everytime and Circus by Britney Spears and a few Soulja Boy songs.. xD |
When I first heard GWAR, I absolutely hated them, and avoided them for quite some time. I got an album by the band Strapping Young Lad, and their singer had a guest part in a song. After that they quickly became my favorite band. Also I never thought I'd enjoy Death Metal. |
Hmm, I'd never think I'd like heavy metal so much until my boyfriend hooked me up to it... XD

Well I use to love rap, hip-hop, and r&b. probably because thats what i was forced to listen to growing up but now i can't stand it and hardly ever listen to it. I absolutely love rock, alternative, metal, emo, just about anything with drums, guitars and lots of screaming. i also enjoy jrock and jpop as well. people think i'm weird because of my tastes in music and such.

It's usually one song that gets me, not all of a bands songs. There is Shiloh though. I don't know why but the two songs she has out I like, not just one, both. She's kinda new though so I'm not sure if I'll like all of her songs... so yea. I usually listen to bands/singers like Emilie Autumn, Mindless Self Indulgence, Frou Frou, Chumbawamba, and Disturbed. |
I think it's really weird that i love Hilary Duff. i mean, shes not that great at music. but i just love her voice. Usually i'm listening to some sort of screaming and rock. but wow. Hilary. XD

Fall Out Boy, for me. I used to hate them. However, I bought Infinity on High because I had a thing for Pete Wentz at the time and now I love them. Patrick has an amazing voice.

I never thought I'd get into psychobilly. When I first heard it on Fungus 53, I was like, "ewww it's like country". But I listened to a whole segment of Hee Haw Hell once and realized it was much better than country. So now I like psychobilly, too.

Normally, I like the same kind of music you do, but surprisingly I also like Eminem (except for the few songs that are so violent I can't listen to them) and the Fugees. I also like Bloodhound Gang, but that's because they CRACK me up...

"La La Land" by Demi Lovato. You'd think I would hate everything Disney is putting out, such as Hannah Montana and High School Musical. But I don't know her voice is really catchy? I can't explain it but I do love that song for some odd reason. Oh, and Hilary Duff. Don't know why but her songs are catchy too.

I never expected myself to like screamo. When my friend played it for me i was like what is this?????? But now that i found this band called Eyes Set To Kill i surpringly like screamo.*gasp*

To be honest, when I was first introduced to angry music, like industrial, metal, noize, etc... I didn't think I would get used to it. It's a bit unnerving at first. However, after attending my first show (it was a local band and they weren't that great) I fell in love with the atmosphere! It's what sparked my love for those genres and now I don't think I could live without them! The power of emotions never ceases to amaze me.

I like Black Eyes peas too<3 But hm.. I didnt think i would like Madonna very much, after only hearing 'Like a Virgin' and 'Material Girl', if theyre called that.. But she has very many songs that i like so much. I have nothing against those other two songs though, just.. not something i would listen to repeatedly.

Classic rock, for me. I never liked it until my boyfriend came along.
I used to downright hate Pink Floyd, but The Wall is one of my favorite albums now. (I still, however, do not like Dark Side. Which might have been the problem to begin with.) And I love The Beatles now <3 |
