Well hello there everyone! I'm steelmagghia and I will be your host for Words on the Wind!

Words on the Wind is a word game thread. We have a few different types of games we'll be playing. We'll have the big points games which will be put up every other day. These will be word jumbles, crossword puzzles, and word searches. We'll talk a little bit about those later. We'll also have a mini game every now and then and page prizes! Chatting is encouraged, and I'll be in here regularly if you have ANY questions!

Every other day, I will post two new puzzles. There are several ways to earn points from these puzzles. Your job is to complete them and PM your answers to me! (steelmagghia)

For ALL puzzles, you can earn points this way:
1) Guessing the theme of the puzzle earns 50 points

For the Word Searches:
1) Each word you find is worth one point. (Names of English characters are acceptable)
2) Each of the fifteen SECRET words is worth fifteen points.
3) The first person to find ALL FIFTEEN secret words gets 50 points.

For the Word Jumbles AND Crossword Puzzles:
1) The first person to correctly finish the puzzle gets 20 points.
2) Every correct answer is worth one point.

You are allowed to do any of the previously posted puzzles at any time. As long as they're turned in BEFORE the end of the event on June 21st. Once the event ends, submissions are cut off.

Prizes will be given according to points earned.

1) No collaboration. This is individual work only!
2) No talking about the puzzles in the thread, other than general complaints about how hard they are or clarifications. If you're not sure whether your question will give too much away, PM me.
3) Be nice. There will be conversation going on, don't be a jerk to other people.
4) Follow Mene's TOS.
5) No cheating. I'm sure there is some way to cheat. Don't do it, whatever it is.

(these are still up for solving, they're just in spoiler tags so they don't eventually take up the whole page)

Every time we hit another 5 pages, I will be using a random number generator to pick a post number from one of those five pages. The person with that post number will win the page prize of 100 gold or a random item!

I'll update this occasionally as I put a mini game up. Mini games may be things like hangman, 20 questions, or some other word game. The winner of a round of mini game gets 10 points.

Can I turn in a puzzle even if a new puzzle has been posted?
Absolutely! As long as you turn it in before the end of event, I'll accept it.

When will the winners be announced?
A few days after the event closes. I'll need enough time to add up all the points. I'll make a thread announcing winners and ping everyone to it.

Is there a special format I have to use?
For the word searches, I'd really prefer it if you circled the words in paint or another picture software and uploaded it to imgur or imageshack. Just so I can verify that the words you found are actually IN the word search without a lot of extra work for me.
For the jumbles and cross words, a numbered list would be fine.
You can put your theme guesses in a PM, just make sure to let me know which one you're guessing for.

If someone else has already finished a Word Jumble/Crossword and has earned the 20 points, can I still turn mine in?
Of course! You will still get one point for every correct answer you have, which means you can earn up to fifteen points for each. It's just you won't get those extra five points for being the first person to get it right.

All I'm finding is little 3 letter words on the Word Searches is that alright?
Absolutely! You get 1 point for every English word or famous character you find on the word search, even if I didn't intentionally put it there. It's just you get MORE points for the words I MEANT to be there. Secret words are anywhere from 3-15 letters long. But a 2 letter word like "up" is still a point!

Can the themes repeat?
Yep, in fact I can guarantee you that they will! Which is a little incentive to participate regularly because theme guessing will get easier when you figure out which themes I'm using. [;)]

At times like these, I wish English was my first language. Sometimes, I have so rarely used the words as I don't really use English widely that they just don't come to my mind in these cases.

I always feel a little bad about this, but the only other language I know well enough to be able to double check is Latin. Not a whole lot of Latin speakers out there. Me and Amane, would do well, but that's about it. Haha.

Ah, Latin is beautiful. My brother spoke/speaks it.

Just 4 more words for scramble. Ghh.

It kind of feels like 2 words are missing a letter, cause I could make them out otherwise...

It's a very fun language. Message me which two words you're having trouble with. I'll check them to see if they're missing anything, just to be sure.

Sorry for causing trouble, it's probably just my imagination. I hunted another word down, so that's 2 or 3 to go, depending if I'm correct about one of the cases.

No worries! I don't mind double checking for errors. It's not fun if there ISN'T a correct answer because I missed a letter.

Ah, the other word for the one I was wondering about was right under my nose, haha.

Okay, sadrain has solved Jumble number 1, and gets an extra point for a word I didn't realize could be made from one of the answers. All further completed (or incomplete) jumbles will get a point per word. Eastriel has guessed the theme. Others can guess the theme too.
