What songs remind you of May/Spring?

It's simple. What songs remind you of May or spring?
For example: This is the historic month of may! The Indy 500 takes place on this coming Sunday, and my father likes to joke around and sing, "I will watch five hundred miles and I will watch five hundred more." So, even though it's not the exact song, "I'm Gonna Be," reminds me of may.

It can be as many songs as you want for as many different reasons you'd like, and don't be afraid to chat, discuss, and hang.

Haha country is awesome. I really like rain is a good thing. Those are all awesome.

hummy 05-24-2012 05:23 PM

that's cute.

all i can think of is, singing in the rain.

Cherish 05-24-2012 05:52 PM

Cute thread idea!

I think for me, it's Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds", ELO's "Mr Blue Sky" and "My Girl" by The Temptations.
They're all from artists my parents used to play a lot when I was little, but those three songs in particular remind me of spring. My dad is one of those people that hates the dark winter weather, so when the spring sunshine starts coming through he always gets in a really good mood, and would dance around the house singing, and those songs were always "Sunny Day" favourites.

I haven't lived with my parents for years, but I still can't see a sunny morning without picturing my dad coming bursting into the room, singing at the top of his lungs; "Hey YOU with the pretty face, welcome to the hu-man race!"

lol, cute memory.

CADFND 05-25-2012 02:10 AM

Colbie Calliat's 'Brighter than the Sun' makes me think of spring. I think part of that might be from the video, though. :D Some of Taylor Swift's music makes me think of Spring as well.

Corlatta DeNaught 05-25-2012 02:49 AM

lol
"summer loven"
in the grease movie XD

Aerinn 05-25-2012 03:25 AM

All We Are by Matt Nathanson. It's simple and slow, and makes me sway side to side unconsciously. It's relaxing and I can see myself enjoying it rocking in a hammock in a flowery garden.

Oh! And Honey and the Bee by Owl City. The lyrics illustrate very Spring-y imagery!

Frankiegirl2020 05-25-2012 05:18 AM

@Hummy haha I love it. That songs reminds me of...when singing in the rain. Haha I was goofing around with my friend and her mom outside when if what raining and with the way I was dancing her mother started singing that. I guess it was spring time. :D

@Cherish Thank-you! And those are wonderful Haha. I kinda know what you mean because when my mom would wake me up for high school or jr. high she'd start singing the good morning song when I was dead asleep. So, when I think of high school that's the first thing to pop into my head. I still live with them so if I haven't set my alarm and we're going somewhere she takes advantage of it and wakes me up that way. My father will spontaneously burst into song as well. Haha.

@monstahh`Haha I can understand why. It's just... springy. :3

@CADFND Maybe it's the sunflowers. Or just that whole outside springy, new grass, parrty thing. Haha. :) For some reason almost any song about the sun reminds me of spring, like I think of walking on sunshine when I hear spring haha.

@Corlatta DeNaught Summer Loven! Tis very springy despite the name. :)

@Aerinn I love that song! I could understand why. It kinda makes me think of new beginnings, and spring makes me think of new beginnings as well so they kinda go hand in hand. And instead of the whole jumpy happy, "SPRING!" kind of thing it's more like a slow emergence like waking finally waking up. Haha I dunno. X3 I like it.
Honey and the Bee is quite springy. I kind of think of The Bird and The Worm just cause it's summery and all happy. I know it's spring we're thinking of but where it's almost like we have Fall, Winter, SUMMER just because it's so warm so I kinda mesh the two together.

Ling 05-25-2012 12:07 PM

The only song I can think of by name is Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows, just those first few lyrics I suppose.

Frankiegirl2020 05-26-2012 12:56 AM

That's an older song if I'm not mistaken. :) Haha it's a very upbeat song, I can see why it would remind you of spring. :)

Red, blue, or green?

Aerinn 05-26-2012 03:07 PM

Haha, I really like the two songs I mentioned above, and I'm glad that you listen to them too.

There's also and oldie in my repertoire: "She's Leaving Home" by the Beatles. It's like leaving for a journey in the spring. And more recently Max and Simon's "Oh, Imagine That!"

keres corvax 05-26-2012 07:30 PM

Just wanted to drp in and give your thread some much needed attention.

Frankiegirl2020 05-26-2012 09:45 PM

@Aerinn I dunno if I've heard those two. I'll look them up here in a lil bit. I'm sure I've heard them at some point.

@Keres Thank-you very much. I really appreciate it. :)

keres corvax 05-27-2012 04:29 AM

Your certainly welcome.

Aerinn 05-27-2012 04:39 AM

Oh, please do give them a whirl, even if it's for a couple of seconds!

keres corvax 05-27-2012 05:34 AM

*whipes some windows down*

Frankiegirl2020 05-27-2012 05:55 AM

@Aerinn Okay I've heard "Oh, Imagine That" I like it. It's really awesome. I couldn't place the name of it, (which I don't know why, cause it's pretty obvious. weird me) And that was the first time I heard "She's Leaving Home" that one was good too. They both are quite lovely. I'll have to add them to my playlist.

@Keres Thanks again. Haha I just can't get to them in the day.
:)

keres corvax 05-27-2012 06:36 AM

ahah I know right :)

TheEmpressofEvil 05-27-2012 07:11 AM

you know, most oldies songs remind me of spring. I can't think of the names of any except for Do Wah Diddie and My Girl at the moment. they just seem so happy and I guess I associate that with spring.

Frankiegirl2020 05-27-2012 07:35 AM

@Keres You think I'd take better care of it. Haha.

@Empress I know what you mean. They seem warm. If that makes sense. Hehe. ^^'
