The Wanderers Halloween Hangout - My first event!

Hi! *waves*

I'm brand-spanking-new to Menewsha and too shy to just walk into a stranger's thread for the Halloween event. So I thought I'd make my own thread and see if I couldn't attract other people who are doing their first event on Menewsha too or are simply friendly to newbies.

Here's hoping some folks stop by. [:)]

Hi there Wanderer~

The Wanderer 10-29-2013 04:35 AM

Hi there, xuvrette! How are you doing tonight?

xuvrette 10-29-2013 04:42 AM

Doing fine. GOing to eat soon.

The Wanderer 10-29-2013 06:23 AM

I ended up playing in two League of Legends matches. [sweat] I didn't mean to wander off! Eheheh. *eyes her username*

xuvrette 10-29-2013 06:25 AM

That is what you do, you are a wanderer. XD

The Wanderer 10-29-2013 06:28 AM

[XD]

I've only been playing LoL for a couple of days now. It's been interesting. So, what do you do in your spare time? If you have any that is.

xuvrette 10-29-2013 06:30 AM

Reading, drawing, writing. <33
All stay at home type of activities.

The Wanderer 10-29-2013 06:31 AM

Oh! What do you read?

xuvrette 10-29-2013 06:34 AM

Comic, novels, fun articles. Genre mostly happy ones. Fantasy, supernatural, romance, comedy, mystery.

The Wanderer 10-29-2013 06:44 AM

It sounds like you might be able to make some recommendations. I primarily read novels with the occasional comic and sometimes manga. Fantasy, supernatural, and romance. Here lately I've been reading Sherrylin Kenyon's Dark Hunter series.

I also happen to particularly like Tamora Pierce, Mercedes Lackey, and Jacqueline Carey.

xuvrette 10-29-2013 06:48 AM

I... don't regconize any of those names. I mean, I heard Tamora Pierce. but I haven't read any of their books.

I... read Chinese ones too. More CHinese than English. Which is why the weak English grammar. lol.
I find the English novels are not as humourous as some Chinese writing style. It is not because of culture difference, it is just some Chinese novels seems to be able to convey many laughing jokes in one page than English.

The Wanderer 10-29-2013 12:37 PM

Are there any available in translation that you would recommend to someone not entirely familiar with Chinese novels?

xuvrette 10-29-2013 12:43 PM

Most of the romance novels do not have translation. :/

But there is some fan translate light novels. Those are the funny ones. Like them.

The Wanderer 10-29-2013 12:53 PM

I do love a good translation. Mostly though I try to find books I know I enjoy reading already in English in French and read those to practice my French. I'd like to get a Kindle to make that easier for me.

xuvrette 10-29-2013 01:05 PM

I didn't read them in English to judge.
But There are some laughs originated from Chinese language.

Anyway, I am not familiar with the translated anyway. I prefer to read things in its original language.

The Wanderer 10-29-2013 01:14 PM

I can definitely see the appeal in that. I'd like to add to the languages I'm proficient with in order to be able to diversify my reading. Right now I only speak English fluently but I'm teaching myself French with some help from one of my boyfriends.

xuvrette 10-29-2013 01:23 PM

That is great.
I like learning language.

The Wanderer 10-29-2013 01:31 PM

I can't imagine not wanting to learn other languages. It's such a foreign concept to me!

xuvrette 10-29-2013 01:57 PM

Maybe those people are either lazy or not interested.
Just like I am not interested in learning history.

The Wanderer 10-29-2013 02:47 PM

Not being interested makes sense. Still, I suppose it's like my non-interest in science. One of my boyfriends is way into science but when he gets to lecturing about it I tend to fall asleep. [sweat]

xuvrette 10-29-2013 02:53 PM

It is individual. Some people like this, some people like that.

Hi there... SuperZombiePotatoe... wow. Where you got that name?

The Wanderer 10-29-2013 02:54 PM
