February 14 Ick, it's Vamlumtimes times.... the one time of year when people are legally permitted to publicly be in a romantic relationship without the usual threat of evisceration by the giant undead vultures who feed on the butterflies in your stomach. i, for one, would welcome such an evisceration today, but i guess even entrail-eating undead vultures need a day off. tomorrow, everything will be back to normal, and we can all carry on feeling absolutely nothing, loving no one, and once again convincing ourselves that the person we loved so deeply on Vamlumtimes was nothing more than a figment of some fantastical dream and that they crumbled into dust when the night ended. sure, deep down we all know that our paramours continue to exist on every other day of the year, and that they are out there too, somewhere, feeling our same hollowness, our same insatiable yearning; and there is nothing we can do about it, and so we continue telling ourselves the lies we need to believe in order to survive.
