Feast of Brains | Zombie Hangout | Zombie Writing Contest - Results ARE OUT.
In May I started a zombie writing contest. Details and entries are here - it is now TOO LATE to enter. RESULTS Overall Winner + Best Horror Nolori The Song .comments. Nolori's entry is more original than anything I had expected, it is very well written, and as a heart-wrenching short story it has been stunningly executed. I have also awarded the prize for "Horror", as it is the most haunting and in the knowledge of tragedy I was left horrified. Best Humour Cherry Flavored Antacid The Quiet Death of Janet Mueller .comments. One of the entries which never lost my interest was Cherry's, the tone of the piece was wryly amusing - as was the suburban setting - the pace was perfect and it worked very well as a short story. I liked the 'old school' title especially, and the visual imagery was colourful without a word being wasted. Roald Dahl, eat your heart out. Best Gore Vix Viral .comments. I wasn't exactly sure which prize to award Vix, I almost invented "Best Zombie Science", but the story's engaging explanation of the exact cause of nature of the animated corpses seemed to fit the "Best Gore" bill. Excellent zombie action, and a particularly amusing title. Best "Could be a Screenplay" TobiasRosetta Untitled .comments. Out of a good bunch of stories, this piece's defining strength was the quality and appropriateness of the "Zombie Movie" prose, and some very decent dialogue. And one honourable mention is EmiEmi, for her amusing story about a confused zombie. Thank you to everyone who entered! |

@ Goblin - I've only just got back from a soggy weekend break to Scotland, so this is the first I've noticed it. I'm glad there's an event of some kind going on, I'm 10x more likely to get a last minute entry, and more people will see the results/read the winners.

Yeah, events are great for stuff like that. 8D I'm considering running a purely morning contest with prizes from my own stash, since it's slower in the mornings and people are just starting on their tasks. But... At the same time, I don't want to take on too much. XD I'm thinking I'll just wait for Celes Paradi. *Mai nods and tries to remain resolute*
Oh, and Silver, we hit a couple bumps yesterday, but everyone's been great and we forged on. 8D I'm very lucky to have such understanding teams. *Mai grins* It's been great fun all around. I enjoy seeing how people interpret the tasks. How does the memory game work, anyway? O___o;;; It... kind of scares me. XD |

I'm glad that that was all worked out. Memory? Well in the regular game you choose from 1-20 tiles one letter and one number. I tell you what you have found. You wait until you can go again. Its simple on that end just a little harder to keep track of them as the game gets going from time to time. So I write everything down. The mini games I think would not be for you. Its very fast. |

That sounds better. XD Nah, I will leave the fast stuff to other people. I'm a take-it-easy kinda gal when it comes to contests and games on Mene. 8P For the most part, at least. I did a trivia once and it was CRAZY. XD But fun! I was so hyped up over getting answers before anyone else!

When I was younger I adored Anthony Horowitz, he wrote great little funny/horror stories.
His books among other things gave me a love of dark comedy. |
