Fellow stranded Menewshans! Will you join me in searching this island for useful things, or will you just sit and enjoy a warm tropical island... Wait, I'd much rather do that... can I? Oh.. No, they're telling me I volunteered to lead this search party and that I have to see it through. *sigh* Fine, alright, at least I'll be able to see all that the island offers. So who's coming with me!?

Welcome to the Search Party, where we're tasked with combing through the island in search of things.. lots of things. The objective of this game is to help recover salvageable goods to contribute to airship repairs, as well as find things that will enable us to stay alive in this rugged environment while we wait for the mechanics to complete their work. Each day there will be a new area of the island to search, and you'll just need to post the form showing your location choice to participate. Fairly simple, but please do feel free to ask questions if anything is unclear. :)

Here's a step-by-step:

1. Look at Today's Map ( here ).
   
2. Choose a location from the list that you would like to search in.
   
3. Copy and paste the provided form, with name of your chosen location added, into this thread.
   
4. Check back after 8PM Eastern for the results of Today's Map. We will post them in this thread directly, but you may also find them in "Yesterday's Results," here.
   
5. Return to Post #4 for the new map. Rinse, and repeat! :yes:

Q & A

Q. Are there going to be "nothing" spaces this time?
A. Yup, this is an uncharted island and it's not meant to be easy living. There is most certainly a chance that you won't win a prize every single round. However, we will be keeping track of folks' results and the terribly unlucky will get a small consolation prize at the end.

Q. I won something, what happens now?
A. Longcat or I will send item prizes to you directly via trade, while gold will magically appear in your pocket. You don't need to do anything but wait patiently. And accept the trade. ;D

Q. What are "Kudos"?
A. Kudos are special points that you get if you find the space where the salvage or survival item is hidden. At the end of the event, those with the most Kudos will win a special prize from the airship's cargo hold. • Mene's got some kind of funky mojo going on with its clock, making it around 22 minutes slow compared to earth time. For the sake of consistency, we'll be going by Mene's minutes as shown on our post timestamps for any deadlines. The hour will come from Eastern Daylight Time.

Half-sunken Boat

You approach the half-sunken boat with treasure on your mind. Inside you spot a bundle wrapped in moldy cloth and tied with frayed rope. You pause for a moment, debating whether you actually want to know what's inside that thing, but feel like you might as well -- you've come this far, after all! zWorking the rope loose, you gently unwrap a small cache of pirate swords. Looks like there's enough for your whole group!

Soft Soil

Moments after you begin your way around the soft soil, you can tell that something's not right. Your feet are sticking and it's getting harder to walk. Then you realize this isn't "soft sand" at all -- it's QUICKSAND!! Convinced this is the end, you panic royally, flailing and shouting until your friends are able to pull you up out of the muck. You seem to have acquired some extra cloth down there in the form of a cloak - bet it'll clean up nice.

Oddly Shaped Rock

Even though that thing clearly looks like a skull and skulls are bad, you decide to go for it. There's an odd coin where the nose hole is -- you slowly take it out, waiting for any Indiana-Jonesy traps to go off, and are relieved when nothing happens. Tucked in the cubby that makes what looks like the right eye socket of the giant skull rock, your fingers brush against something dry and leafy. Something feels off though and you grasp the edges and pull it out, careful not to rip it. It's a weathered and folded piece of paper. Unfolding it, your eyes bug out as you find yourself staring at a map... we'll have to take this to Lance right away!

Cave Waters

Something glitters in the sandy bottom of the cave. Holding your breath and taking the plunge you dive into the cool cave waters. Your fingers drag through the sand, taking in smooth cold discs. As you surface you are pleased to see that all that glitters is gold (at least in your case)! [;)]

Rock Slide

You're feeling bold, so you decide to tackle the rock slide. It's going well despite the fact that many of the rocks are loose, until you get about halfway up and spot a bit of chain in the rock. You lean a little too far trying to grab it and start to feel yourself slipping. Once your fingers connect with the chain, you're history. "Of course this would happen!" you groan to yourself just as you fall flat on your back and slip down into the water. The impact knocks the wind out of you, and your first breath is half pond so you're coughing and sputtering and choking your way crawling to the shore. Finally hacking up the last of the water from your lungs, you're soaking wet and your lips have turned blue but you're darn proud that you've managed to hang onto the shell necklace that you fell for.z

Cave Ceiling

In order to fully examine the cave ceiling, you decide, you're going to need a source of light. Luckily there's a fair amount of wood in the cave, and you're pretty sure you know how to make a fire using friction. You spend the better part of an hour trying to get a spark -- it's so difficult, but you finally manage to ignite a bundle of sticks into a makeshift torch. You're so proud of yourself that you give up on the cave ceiling -- you just made fire, man!z

More Trees

Wow, on a deserted island who would have thought that there would be more trees to search? [sarcasm] Yet you decide to take a peek anyways. It's very dark, but you think you see the glint of light filtering in. You keep looking thinking something must be in here, and it seems you're right because something is looking at you. Lots of somethings, scattered around the trees you see more and more sets of eyes watching you. And as you cautiously head back out, you know you will always feel that sensation of being watched.

Abandoned Structure

You head towards the Abandoned Structure, excitement growing as you imagine what you might find there. There could be tools, food, clothing - maybe first aid supplies, or stashed treasure of some kind. When you arrive you carefully remove a fallen plank from the remains of the doorway to expose the structure's interior, and find it has been filled with.. wood? Scraps of wooden planks, collected driftwood, large pieces of palm bark have all been loosely piled and (mostly) shielded from the rains. Not quite what you were hoping for, but there's definitely something here that can be used for building or burning.

Beach Edge

The beach edge is the obvious choice for you. What better place to look for salvage than where it naturally washes ashore? Just a short distance from where the group was gathered you see a lumpy something-or-other, and rush over to find Militant Dirty Punk Pants. Hrm.. You probably wouldn't have purchased them in a store, but you figure someone's gonna want to change their pants at some point so you hang onto them.

In Tha Sand!

While everyone else runs around, you stay right where you are and focus your attention on searching in the sand. You're getting strange looks from some of the other survivors, but after about an hour you've managed to find quite a few coins -- 137g worth -- Take that, naysayers!

Up in the Palm Trees

Searching up in the palm trees seemed like a good idea, but now that you're actually doing it you experience a slight problem.. These things are really tall! The trunks are too smooth to climb and there's no way you're going to be able to reach the coconuts. You grab a rock from the nearby shore and lob it up there, hoping to knock something down. No luck, and what's worse - the rock clunks your noggin on the way down, giving you a Nasty Forehead Scar.

Mysterious Dark Path

So.. turns out this mysterious dark path is really dark. It's really creepy, too. And it's hard to see anything. You walk slowly, carefully, with your arms outstretched just enough -- your heart is pounding in your ears and all you can think of is how many spiders could be in here right now, watching you. You're trying not to imagine what it would feel like to walk your face into a big sticky spider web, when suddenly there's a cry of pain from out on the beach somewhere and you lose all composure, turning and running out of there as if you are being pursued by all of your darkest nightmares at once.
You didn't find anything, but you're relieved to be out in the light again, and right now that's reward enough.

Around Those Other Trees

You decide to check around those other trees. Turning over bits of bark that have blown down reveals nothing of use, and there isn't much in the way of undergrowth to rifle through. You're about to give up when you see movement from the corner of your eye. You stand tall just as a Green and Yellow Snake plushie falls onto your shoulders! EEEK!!

In the Big Shrubs

Checking in the big shrubs isn't a difficult task, but it isn't particularly exciting either. The foliage is rather uniform and there doesn't seem to be anything hidden among the leaves or underneath the shrubbery. You're not exactly in a hurry to return to the beach for another job, so you take a few minutes to fashion yourself some nice Leaf Cuffs - might as well make the best of it, right?

Spotting an underwater cave you try to reach in, but it's smaller than you first thought. A stick might help you out! Running back to the beach you break off a stick from a bush and return to the tidepool. Jabbing blindly into the cave you come out with a hotdog Octi on a stick!

Starfish Rock

Whoa, this starfish rock is just covered in starfish! You're wondering what it would feel like to touch the big orange guy on top & are about to try that when a shadow cast on the water from behind you obscures your view. You tell whoever-it-is, "Hey, you're blocking my light!" but the person doesn't move, so you turn around and come nose to nose with a wild-eyed, messy-haired crazy woman that you've never seen before in your life.

Behind the Seaweed

You figure a lot of stuff probably gets tangled up in seaweed, so looking behind it seems likely to yield something. Anemone Rock

You're mouthing the word "anemone" to yourself when you swear you see a cute little clownfish dart inside one of the larger ones. "HEY GUYS, I FOUND NEMO!" you call to the group, just as you dip your hand inside the tentacles at anemone rock. As the pain shoots up your arm, you recall with regret that clownfish have a symbiotic relationship with stinging anemone, and that you probably shouldn't be touching one anyway.

Chase Away the Bird

That bird is taunting you. Just staring at you with it's beady black eyes, staring into your very soul. And it's judging you... You hate being judged by self-righteous birds. Taking the only revenge you can think of , you run at it and chase away the bird! It leaves several feathers behind and you bind them to a stick, brandishing what looks to be a Traditional feather duster? Maybe the heat is getting to you.

Beyond the Tidepool

Tired of the cute tidepool you wander away from the rest of the group to see what lies beyond the tidepool. It's a sobering site. This part of the island is surrounded by jagged rocks off the shore. Several drowned ships are visible, but most are not worth the risk or swim. However you are able to pull a mostly good propeller off the closest one.

Among the bromeliads you find the aged remains of what looks to be a large mammal. You shove your trepidation aside and tear a piece of hide away from the carcass. Impressed by your own bravado, you wrest a large bone free, too.

Vines

The vines, great idea! They're like a natural rope, and they're just hanging there for all to see - it's almost too easy. This could have ended horribly, but somehow you actually manage to pull some down & coil them up for transporting back.

Cubby in roots

Apparently all those adventure movies with people sticking their hands into dark holes escaped your notice, because you decide to stick your hands into the dark cubby in the roots. It's kind of moist and gooey in here, and you don't know what the heck you just touched. When you pull your hand out, your nostrils are hit with the most hideous odor you've ever smelled. There are strands of something yellowish and mucousy between your fingers & you freak out and wipe it on your shirt without thinking. GAHH! Imagine rotten eggs mixed with burnt hair, with a side of overripe mango & maple syrup.. Yeah, that's what you smell like now.

Walking along the path, you drink in the sights and sounds around you. Everything is so alive here! You can't help but be a bit awestruck, and you realize something. Searching the jungle ferns yields a pleasant surprise: they're bursting with tender shoots that are just at the right stage for eating. Knowing that the ability to gather food from your environment is a crucial component of survival, you gently harvest the fiddleheads and wrap them in a larger frond for transportation.

Little totem

Stumbling across a little totem in the woods, you find yourself intrigued. You get down low to examine it and find yourself more fascinated than before. Rapids

You think you spot something glimmer in the rapids. Deciding it's worth the risk, you fight your way against the fast currents. Now that you're in it the thought that this might not have been the best of ideas crosses your mind. Your fingers catch on something under the water -- pulling it out, you find yourself face to face with the broken face of a Netherworld mask!! AAAIIIIIEEEE!!! This was a really bad idea for an earlier someone!

Tree roots

After weighing the odds, you decide that we wouldn't possibly make all the digging spaces bad, so with some confidence you set about poking the dirt around the tree roots for goodies. After a short while you find a rusty tin can that someone buried halfway. You manage to unearth it, give it a shake and hear a rattle and a clink, like something metal knocking around. "I knew it!" you proclaim as you tip the can upward.. and dump a bunch of dirt in your eyes. Ouch!

Those rocks way over there

You venture over to those rocks way over there and look around for loose rocks. Sure enough, there's one that's clearly out of place. You're able to move it and find a wooden box underneath. Inside the box, under a layer of feathers, is a small toolkit. This is sure to come in handy!

Understory

It's darker in the understory than you first thought, but slowly your eyes adjust to the dimmed light. Looking around you find yourself surrounded by wondrous beauty! Flowers everywhere! If only Nalin were here to tell you what some of them were, but you take a few in hopes that you escape soon and will be able to show him.

Vine

Tugging the vine and finding it sturdy, you decide on a whim to climb the tree. You're pretty high up there when you spot a little nest. You're sure this one isn't a beehive, so you gingerly reach your hand into it.. Underneath a bunch of loose feathers your fingers connect with what feels like a book. Seems someone has been doing some treetop reading!

Young trees

Your progress in searching the young trees is somewhat hampered by the mounds of a viney plant with shiny red-tinged leaves that cover the area. Caught debris

The caught debris is right around where Madame Rousseau pointed when she yelled to keep away from her log, so you're a little on edge as you approach the mass. You decide to poke it with a nearby stick first, just in case, and when you do that out shoots a bunch of mice!
