Rules and guidelines

• The overall theme of this contest is Valentine's Day. Incorporating other themes of the event isn't necessary but could result in chocolate brownie points. [;)] You're welcome to add any comments or explanation with your entry.

• Your username must be physically present in your entry photo i.e. on a piece of paper- it may not be edited in digitally. This evidence can be in the form of an additional proof photo. [yes]

• You may use recipes- and I encourage you to share them with us! Entirely store bought entries will not be permitted. Assistance is allowed but I expect you to have done the majority of the work.

• Up to FIVE entries in each of the main categories ("no chocolate" and "chocolate") but no more than THREE savouries, sweets or drinks may be entered within each category per user.

• The rules of each category are explained in their posts. If you are unsure whether your entry fits a contest, feel free to ask in the thread or via PM.

• Entries will be accepted until the end of the event. Check the FAQ thread for the most up to date information!

♥ No Chocolate! ♥

Around 70 years ago chocolate was prohibited on Menewsha and many other surrounding islands after the magical tainting of the chocolate crop on Cacao. Without access to chocolate Menewshans had to be creative to think of new treats.

This category is for chocolate free dishes.

Things that count as chocolate and are prohibited are: dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, cocoa, chocolate liqueur and chocolate substitutes such as carob. If it looks and tastes like chocolate- it most likely counts!

♥ Chocolate! ♥

Today on Menewsha we have a steady supply of chocolate from our friends on the Isle of Cacao. A tradition is to remember the Valentine's Day Massacre and the raiding of the illegal chocolate distilleries by enjoying chocolate drinks but this year we'll be celebrating chocolate in many forms!

This category is for chocolate dishes.

The chocolate must be incorporated into the dish! A good test would be asking if your dish would the same without chocolate- if the answer is yes then you should probably add more chocolate. [;)]

NB: If you are struggling to think how chocolate could be used in savoury dishes I suggest looking up recipes online. [:)]
