Yummy St. Patrick's food!

So, Jelly said to make threads...
I'm bad at figuring out what to say in threads, so I normally don't make them... Ever.
But I guess we could share fun St. Patty's recipes here!

What your favorite St. Patty's food?
Mine would be the Shamrock Shake from McD's. It's so bad for you but so good for your soul! I love it!

I also enjoy making a beef brisket with apricot sauce for St. Patrick's day.
If I can find the recipe, I'll share it!

green bangers and mash!

Kory 03-15-2015 01:59 PM

How do you make the sausage in bangers and mash green?
:o

I've never had bangers and mash. [:P]

zigbigadorlube 03-15-2015 02:02 PM

It's sausages and mashed potatoes

hummy 03-15-2015 02:02 PM

yeppers ziggie has it

Kory 03-15-2015 02:05 PM

Oh I knew they had sausage involved. Haha.
It's British food, yes? Errr... UK food anyway.

zigbigadorlube 03-15-2015 02:07 PM

Irish food

hummy 03-15-2015 02:09 PM

Irish foods

Kory 03-15-2015 02:10 PM

Ohhh!
I don't know much about Irish food.

Is Stout an Irish drink?

hummy 03-15-2015 02:11 PM

oops i'm slow

zigbigadorlube 03-15-2015 02:11 PM

I think stout is a type of beer, not like a brand. So plenty of different countries have it? It might have originated in Ireland though.

hummy 03-15-2015 02:14 PM

i've never ordered a 'pint'
*needs to come visit ziggie and jelly*

zigbigadorlube 03-15-2015 02:15 PM

Have you ever had a drink hummy?

Kory 03-15-2015 02:20 PM

This is so interesting!
:D

I learn something new everyday!
I was digging through some recipes and found another that I made back in 2011 called Boxty, which, is apparently like a potato pancake. Is that Irish as well?
I'm probably just digging up recipes I've found from various European countries.

2011 was a good year. I made a lot of food that year.

What other kinds of Irish food do you all like, besides bangers and mash?

hummy 03-15-2015 02:21 PM

knowledge is power

zigbigadorlube 03-15-2015 02:24 PM

Ooh, I like potato pancakes! They're kind of a pain to make though... I do believe they're Irish.

hummy 03-15-2015 02:26 PM

i think they are a Jewish food
but way yummie if i don't have to make them

Kory 03-15-2015 02:28 PM

You know what's strange?
All of this time, I never actually considered making Irish food for St. Patrick's Day? Lol!
I just thought about making green food, or briskest.

Have you all ever been to Ireland? I bet it's beautiful there!

zigbigadorlube 03-15-2015 02:33 PM

I've never been. I'd like to go though.

Kory 03-15-2015 02:34 PM

If you got the chance to go to Ireland, what would be the first thing you'd do there?
:)

zigbigadorlube 03-15-2015 02:37 PM

Smell that fresh green air

Kory 03-15-2015 02:40 PM

I bet that air smells so good!
And so clean and green!

I'd want to see a castle or something. I would probably pretend I'm a princess and I'd start singing a Disney princess song while walking around the castle like an idiot.

zigbigadorlube 03-15-2015 02:50 PM

I sa a lot of castles when I was in France. After a while they all tend to sort of look the same.

Kory 03-15-2015 02:53 PM

Ohh! You've been to France! [:O]
That is so cool. I've never left the country, so to me it's super awesome.
What did you do in France?

I've always wanted to see a real castle, though. I don't think there are real castles in America...

hummy 03-15-2015 03:01 PM

my room mate ordered escargo *sp* at dinner in a castle in Germany O.o
