Drawing

What are you best at drawing? What do you wish you were better at drawing?

Kat Dakuu 01-25-2015 02:28 AM

I'm best at drawing young males, hair and clothes. I wish I was better at hands, feet, and more manly men. And poses and anatomy and eyes. Mine are so simple.

allycat 01-26-2015 02:56 AM

I'm pretty good at hair and using colors

Kat Dakuu 01-28-2015 06:35 AM

Yeah? You have a favorite kind of hair that you like to draw?

Rooren 03-18-2015 09:11 AM

I'm best at drawing people in general, and they're what I prefer to draw. I can do landscapes and such, but I find that I'm much too lazy to put in the effort. orz
I have a problem...

Dystopia 03-18-2015 09:13 AM

nvm wrong thread i'm retarded.

~LONGCAT~ 03-21-2015 01:52 AM

I am good at drawing ducks. I am bad at drawing not ducks. XD nah I'm not steller with proportions or accurate hands.

Chikyu 04-01-2015 02:14 AM

I'm best at drawing animals and females!
male anatomy still gives me trubbs [yes]

Naruto forever 04-05-2015 05:25 AM

I'm good at drawing faces and butts. Not gonna lie it's probably because they're what I fill my school notes with. I wish I was better at drawing girls in general, as well as older looking people and just anatomy and poses and feet. oh my god feet. You know what, I wish I was better at drawing period. ; 3;

I'm good at still life objects. I probably wish I was better at landscapes.

I enjoy drawing exaggerated expressions, and caricatures of professors.
I couldn't draw realistically to save my life, and I struggle with the distance between the chest and the abdomen.

Squares... I'm really good at making squares. I wish I was better at drawing everything else [lol]
Due to my small engineering background I got really good at basic geometric shapes, but I'm struggling to make curves.

And that is what the french curve is for. XD

The Wandering Poet 07-14-2015 02:17 AM

What is a french curve?

Kat Dakuu 07-14-2015 06:44 PM

french curve
It's a tool, or a template for drawing curves. Used by architects I suppose.

The Wandering Poet 07-14-2015 08:45 PM

Ooh I see. That's pretty cool. But how does the usual artist learn to make curves? Most people don't have those.

Kat Dakuu 07-16-2015 05:54 PM

I've had to buy circle templates for my standard art classes before. But...you just draw a curve? I don't think of it as difficult. Because unlike a job that needs perfect circles, squares, and curves, it doesn't matter if it's perfect in art!

The Wandering Poet 07-16-2015 11:59 PM

I guess it's just hard for my mind to grasp. My curves always end up with a hook at the end when I try to move to the next curve.

Kat Dakuu 07-20-2015 04:46 PM

I dun follow.

The Wandering Poet 07-20-2015 08:45 PM

They look like this: { or [

Kat Dakuu 07-21-2015 02:14 AM

bu...it's a curve. You just curve like swooosh!

The Wandering Poet 07-21-2015 03:57 AM

My curves don't like to go swoosh
