A Little Bit of Jubilee (Pray for Boston)

Welcome to my event thread. While we have fun during this event please keep those in Boston in your prayers. Bombs went off today at the end of the Boston Marathon. Two dead, many injured.

Seridano 04-15-2013 08:16 PM

So far I've seen reports of 2-3 dead and ~25 injured.

Time to pop on Facebook and hope that none of my friends were watching the Marathon today.

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-15-2013 08:17 PM

I was out at the gym and found out about it on Tumblr. Been reblogging stuff and making sure my followers are aware. Shit like this scares the crap out of me.

Jack MacGaven 04-15-2013 08:20 PM

Shit like this scares the living beejesus out of me as well... To think this could've happened close by. My hometown had a marathon yesterday...
This kind of shit makes me very aware that this can happen at any time, anywhere.

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-15-2013 08:22 PM

Yeah, thank God there aren't more dead. Though traumatic amputation sounds gruesome.

Seridano 04-15-2013 08:23 PM

A friend of mine is checking to see if his cousin was running or not. Talk about shit hitting home. I was just in the city with him this weekend and almost decided to stay and watch the marathon instead of returning home.

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-15-2013 08:24 PM

I am glad you came home. God was watching out for you. I'll be praying for your friend and his cousin and for everybody. Shit... this makes me scared. This could happen at Art Fair... shit.

Jack MacGaven 04-15-2013 08:28 PM

I've read a tweet of a reporter who saw limbs flying all over the place... People are getting others to help as much as they can, even if it's just for moral support or blood donation.

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-15-2013 08:30 PM

I would donate blood if I was in that area. I really would. I mean if I was eligible. Hasn't been long enough since the last time I gave blood. *hugs Jack*

That's rather unpleasant o.o
Why would someone even do that?

Jack MacGaven 04-15-2013 08:39 PM

I think that if it would've happened in my home town, I think I'd go to the hospital which is at the end of my street and donate as much as they could get out of me and then just go help down town. Even if it just would be hugging people who are trying to get home safely, supporting them mentally.
This kind of stuff just makes me angry. Really angry. Bomb military shit, not innocent people doing sports.

Gives a new meaning to 'throw your hands up in the air'

Seridano 04-15-2013 08:43 PM

I half wish I had stayed in the city for the week rather than just the weekend so that I could have provided some sort of support for those involved, however minor.

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-15-2013 08:44 PM

I am not going to sleep well tonight. Not at all. Holy shit. I'm trying not to have a break down. This makes me scared to go to the Ann Arbor Art Fair. I don't even want to go out tonight for chimes practice and it's right next door to my house, since my dad is the minister.

JChanOfTheCan 04-15-2013 08:44 PM

sad :( my heart goes out to the victims and their families.

Well we can pray. Right now that's all most of us can do.

Seridano 04-15-2013 08:45 PM

I could get over there later tonight if I had a friend come and get me, but I imagine it'd be too late to make much of a difference...and I've a terrible fear of needles so giving blood is always a special challenge. >.<

Protagonist 04-15-2013 08:45 PM

I cant wait to see the results to see if it was suicides or already planted bombs. Its so interesting.

And they probably wouldnt let you into that part of the city.

Seridano 04-15-2013 08:46 PM

Given that one of them was at the Marathon's finish line, I'm guessing suicide had little to do with it. That and folks who take their own lives rarely bring others along with them.

lol...your name and that post together are abit unsettling to be honest.

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-15-2013 08:47 PM

It's just fucked up. That's what it is. Though for me talking about seriously helps.

xD Oy, I didnt even realize haha.
But I am really interested, especially since they went off AFTER the first people went across the line. Why did they wait? Thats what I want to know! I want to be in their minds to figure out what the fuck was going on. Thats what I am interested in.

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-15-2013 08:50 PM

Yeah, who knows what there plans were. But there was another bomb that went off and then there were two others found that they were able to disarm.

Protagonist 04-15-2013 08:52 PM

Like, how the fuck did they get there!?

Kirin Rosenbaum 04-15-2013 08:55 PM

somebody obviously planted them *shudders at the thought of having a limb blown off*
