Menewsha Avatar Community - How to Use Prismacolor Art Markers?

So recently I started a project that required me to use Prismacolor Art Markers. They are the double-ended ones, with the fine tip on one side and the broad tip on the other. The problem is... I don't really know how to use them [sweat] I love using markers and how it looks on paper, but I want to know how to blend the colors together and things like that. I am also using Prismacolor colored pencils. I've been told to just use the marker first and then use the colored pencil of the same color over it in order to hold the color in. Any tips or suggestions? I really need to get this project done! [headdesk]
