Acid reflux, GERD, heartburn?
 

Does anyone here have acid reflux, GERD, or heartburn?
When did you first notice you had it?
How would you describe the feeling you have when experiencing heartburn?
Did any kinds of foods make it worse?
What medication or medications do you take for it?
Do you have any other conditions?

Since my late 20s I have noticed that if I eat a lot right before going to bed, I'll wake up with reflux in the middle of the night. It happens very infrequently and can be avoided by just not going to bed immediately after a big dinner. I just remember working late nights and then ordering a Domino's pizza for something quick before getting into bed. Then I'd get really hot at night and wake up vomiting. I can't remember the last time it happened, because my work shift thankfully changed and I figured out what was triggering the episodes. And if my stomach ever feels upset, Tums seems to work fast and well for me.

I had a doctor who thought I had it, but I've later found it to likely be another cause that makes me cough so much.

I do however see acid reflux meds flying out the door at work like candy, so certainly a lot of people have it.
