I started re-teaching myself French,
and then I completely slacked off.

Aww~ I subscribed to a podcast for French recently, but haven't really had time to get into it.

One method that this polyglot I know of uses is just memorizing phrases at first.

but it's not really taught anymore.

Iku; I just have a hard time with the translation,
I always try to translate everything back into English and that's where I mess up.

I mean, the grammar and stuff is pretty easy once you know the basics.
