JUST FOR THE GUYS - pictoral item suggestion thread
Do exactly as it says in the title!
This thread is SOLELY for the suggestion of clothing items of the masculine persuasion, and the suggestions MUST be accompanied by good clear pictures. A wall of text trying to describe the trim on a pair of pants just isn't going to work. Our guy avies don't have enough choice, so show us what you'd like to have! Please bear in mind, this is for items for the boys to wear, but it doesn't mean that the girls will miss out, if an item is suitable for both, then both sexes will get to wear it. A few pointers when posting pictures
This may sound horribly sexist (and in a way it is!) But this is mainly for the guys out there to suggest the stuff they'd like to be able to wear. Not for the girls who use girl avies to post about what they want for the male avatars. Obviously the girls are welcome to post suggestions too, but it's the boy's opinions that we're looking for here, they're the ones who have to wear the items [yes] and they're the ones who feel let down by the lack of choices available to them. Please don't feel this is only about "normal" clothes. It really isn't. dA links and so on for fantasy/sci-fi/gamewear are hugely welcome, guys don't want boring, sensible clothes to wear online. |

I think this belongs more in just the item suggestion Branny. They don't seem very masculine to me. We're not looking for items that will sell well, but will let guys be guys.
I just don't feel masculine guys will want any of those. |

I think what males on here really need are good pants... Menewsha doesn't seem to have very many good ones xD; I don't really have any pictures of what I'm thinking of though. Kinsaki and Gaia have good pants (I really like Gaia's Glamrock pants) but I don't think you'd want to have those used as examples xP |

I think the thing is, St Branny, is we already do items that are kind of visual kei-esque for males, and we get comments quite frequently about how we're too "costumey" and/or too "feminine" for the average guy.
So what we're looking for here is something the average guy might like to equip on his avatar. No one's saying there's anything wrong or uncool or anything about guys who like visual kei-type stuff for their avatar, just that we already "do" that stuff already and are looking for what else a guy might like. Very cool examples, though. I hope we can get some items like that in the future. :) |

Well if your looking for average clothing you'll probably just need to stick with plain jeans/slacks and tshirts with some sort of pattern design. Str8 men are so hard to design for.. Baseball caps and whatnot... Maybe some Menewsha designer sneakers or something. I think the fashion is very simply but quite nice....Earth/metal colors are nice. |

My mind is very open to fresh and new ideas. Look at the majority of clothing on Mene after all. Most people wouldn't be caught dead in public with half of it on.
I'm not saying that the visual kei stuff is bad, in fact it would be nice to make. But it isn't in any sense very masculine. Just because many people like the style doesn't make it masculine. Especially since the rise of fashion and metrosexuality. |
Well Like I said, with masculine male fashion you'll probably just need to make some designer jeans or something. Not much style there though....well....not to someone like me anyways. ^^;

I don't think the devs ignore suggestions... I think that some suggestions that have been posted are just not very manly, and that's what we're looking for. It's not that they're ignored, they're just not what we need for males right now. *nods*
As for suggestions, I have some, from Details. :D My favorite men's magazine.
