~Welcome and Introduction~ I imagine you have just signed up for this new site called "MENEWSHA" (Pronounced Meh-new-sha, and referred to as "Mene" Meh-neh for short). Lo and behold, one of the first things you discover is that your beloved avatar is naked and your inventory is empty and you have no gold!!! STOP. -Places a caring hand on your shoulder.- Please don't panic. [hug] In fact, I have a rough idea of what you might be thinking: "At Gaia, we got a choice of free starter outfit and starter gold!". "Back when it was go-gaia.com we still at least got a set of peasant clothes!" "Did I do something wrong? This is so embarassing to be nekkid. I also have questions, but they sound stupid..." [cry] Just because the system doesn't set you up with some free starter gear doesn't mean that this charity won't! [boogie] The purpose of this charity is to get Menewsha's newest users clothed as quickly as possible while beginning the process of acclimiating them to (that's a fancy word that means " getting used to") the site and how it works. Eventually, we hope you will appreciate how far your precious gold http://www.menewsha.com/images/forum.../icon_gold.gif can go on this avatar site. Hopefully you already appreciate that you are not being subconsciously told to go buy skittles every five seconds and not being tempted to download spyware for the 'good items' only availble for real money while the regular stores go without decent updates. So, if you follow, and are interested in this community and how to earn your free goodies please read the remainder of the posts by me ( Crow-sama ) on this front page, then reply to the thread and introduce yourself! |
~How Do I Qualify? What do I get?~ 1. You have to be very new to Menewsha: "Very New" is defined by having an account that is one week old or less. Exceptions to this rule may be examined on a case-by-case basis. (Note: Crow is very generous and will often give you the benefit of the doubt, so do not be afraid to at least ask!) 2. You have to have very little gold, 500g or less. If you have more than that, you can start buying your own darn clothes. (Protip: If you find yourself approaching the limit, purchase a meaningful accessory that speaks to you and you will adore your entire time and Menewsha, and then let the clothes come to you for free!) 3. You have to be nekkid (or very close to being nekkid. If you have one hair accessory, you won't be disqualified). However, if you have an outfit already, this charity will not meet your needs, as you have already met them yourself! (Protip: If, say, somebody donates a very modest outfit to you RIGHT before you were considering applying, ask the management what you still qualify. There is basically no chance you will receive NOTHING for your time!) 4. You have to not WANT to be nekkid. Some people are fine browsing around in their underwear, but others may find it bothersome or downright embarassing. You have to be okay with doing just a couple of things in order to get fully clothed in normal menewshan wear, now 'peasant' clothes, not even clothes from the 'newbie store', for free. 5. You have to make an effort to post and get used to the site. I require that you make at least 1 post in THIS thread in order to qualify for "the basics". If you post MORE than once, you can qualify for EXTRA prizes from our shiny pile. Protip: The more you post in our thread before submitting your application, the more bonus prizes you're likely to earn. Please do not try to cheat this simple rule, though. I have ways of checking your post count. 6. If you meet the above requirements, and have followed the thread's rules, you may PM me the form found below for your Starter Clothing Item (and often a second free bonus gift!) What Are Some Examples of Your Starter Items (ie "The Basics")? What do I do with the GOLD I earned while posting? -> Accentuate has a handful of accessories for 100 gold or less that you can pick-and-choose from to begin to customize your look.-> Jewel's Dream, likewise, has approximately a page and a half of jewelry that can be purchased for 100 gold or less. Where do I GO from here? As long as the rules are followed, you are always welcome here. :) Nobody ever 'ages out'. However, as you grow on Menewsha there are other charities in this forum that may be of further, different, or greater assistance: -> At the End of the Rainbow by Silenia Why? This is Menwsha's oldest charity in a revamped thread run by a very charitable, helpful, and kind person to menewshans one day old to many years old. The first page currently contains information about special welcoming packets for those who are new. There are also many pageprizes and general donations available. -> Eggs for Fledgelings - A Charity for New Menewshans Why? There was one Easter Event where there was a bit of misunderstanding. Users thought they had to collect one egg of every colour to get a prize. It turns out theeggs themselves were prizes. So, between sets for themselves, their mules, to sell, for charities, there are quite an excess of eggs... and most of them aren't bad looking! They just happen to be the highest-surpllused event item in existance on the site, which is lucky for you! [sweat] Any eggs donated to The New Users First Stop are now redirected to Eggs for Fledgelings. -> Why? Kultura's Charity is very similar in format to this one. In fact, I pretty much took her idea and scaled it down to an almost-but-not-quite instant gratification level. In her thread, if you make 30 posts you get to choose a Three Piece Starter Set in the Colors of your Choice! This is quite the step up from the "Peasant" Starter Dress/Oversized Shirt. At least you will have something to wear while you're racking up your posts there. |

The first non-bird post selected in this manner will win a random prize from our "pile of shinies": A CI, EI, SNG, or Common. *NOW It is a bit more random. Sometimes people with signature link banners will be given gold drops or prizes. If the birds are giving something to everyone, they may double the gold or prizes for someone with a signature link. This is in the Charity Thread. Also, sometimes during EVENTS, Phobos and Deimos will fly around an official thread and gift each user who has a signature link to the charity. As always, in order to get the bonus goods, you ABSOLUTELY MUST have a working link! It makes us cry to come across somebody who doesn't have a link. Don't be that person! |

Probably one of the biggest favours that you two could do, would be to join me in kind of keeping a closer eye on Fresh Meat over the next couple of days and help point people here... especially if they complain about being broke and/or nekkid in their post. Right now is a pretty dead time. I posted a couple of times, but none of the threads are particularly active.
