Where is here, you ask? This is the official Thread Killers thread for Winter Nights 2011!

Here, we can support each other through those hard times here on Menewsha during the event when people aren't quite in the posting mode.

Rules
- Follow all the rules of posting here on Menewsha [here is a refresher course of some of those rules]
- No begging
- No flaming and/or harassing anyone
- No spamming and/or bumping
- no swearing or anything that would be deemed profanity [if it is censored with * or - I don't mind, I just don't really care for seeing it]
- no double posting [if you do so by accident, please get a Moderator to delete it]
- no page stretching
- Literacy is appreciated. I won't be a grammar master but too much chatspeak will lead to me asking you to leave the thread.

Last Poster
One great tradition of the event thread killers threads is the last poster contest! Since event forums get locked after the events, the last poster in this thread gets a prize! [kind of a prize for being the "thread killer"].

If you have any contest ideas of your own, feel free to share them.

Also, between the holiday festivities and Dae being sick right now, she may not have a lot of time to be on here. So if you would like to hold a contest, PM me and I'll see if I can supply a prize or something. ^_^

-Looks between Assassin and tinsel- ... Hm... -throws tinsel all over Assassin- Bwahahaha! -runs-

The tinsel seems to come alive as a writhing mass. It lifts up, pulsing with movement and a low, gutteral growl rumbles from within it. Suddenly, two big booted feet extend from underneath it and it stands up, turning this way and that like its looking for something. Spying Dae running away, a roar bellows forth and the massive Tinsel Monster dashes off after her, both of them disappearing around a corner and out of site.

Seconds later there is another roar and then much squealing and thrashing noises are heard for several minutes.

After a few moments silence, Assassin walks around the corner, his big boots thumping on the floor as he hefts something on his shoulder. Its long and looks to be tightly wrapped in tinsel, with two little feet poking out at one end, and two little eyes blinking throug the tinsel at the other. "Found me a tinsel tree!" Assassin says, standing the load on his should on the ground next to the xmas tree. "Now, where are those xmas decorations, surely we got some do-hickeys to hang on it?"

He wanders off chuckling to himself and leaves Dae tied up in her tinsel tree next to the xmas tree, both standing there blinking in their own ways.

My ability to RP is rarely utilised on Mene, or at all now days, unless its for sporadic writings here or there.

Mostly i try and use it in my novel writing if i can.

Its not that hard, just think of the 5 senses (sight, sound, smell, touch and taste) and describe what some or all of those things would pick up in any given moment of your story.

Assassin sat at his computer, eyes darting around the screen infront of him franticly. He smelt of sweat and body odour like he hadnt showered in days, which wasnt entirely true, he had gone for a swim the day before, but only briefly. His fingers darted over the keys, their silken smooth surfaces caressed by his almost girlishly soft hands as he played his game, the sound of gunshots and explosions going off constantly. With a smack of his lips, he reached over and grabbed the bottle of coke, swigging on it and putting it back quickly in one of the brief lulls in play. He'd been at it 18 straight hours and had almost finished the first stage. At this rate, he'd be finishing the game by next month. Assassin had never been much of a gamer...

See, just describe the senses and youll be A-OK as long as you know where your plot is starting, and where you want it to end. I wanted to make myself sound like a slob playing a game... which is sorta true! :P
