WHAT'S YOUR BAD SUPER POWER!?-- My Uncanny Ability to Lose Electronics
Hi menewsha. I'm Clair Voyant and I have a problem with losing things in my own home. You might be thinking to yourself "Clair, everybody does that!" and yes, while that might be true, I am an expert.
The first electronic I misplaced was a laptop computer. I remember very vividly placing it on the coffee table in my living room (where I sit writing this now on a new laptop) before heading off to bed....THREE YEARS AGO! I have yet to locate this laptop and I'm still not entirely convinced that my home wasn't burgled that evening. Husband is convinced that I had something to do with the disappearance. Most recently was my kindle. Sitting in the living room currently, I sit in the exact spot I last remember reading my kindle... it has been 72 hours since I've seen the kindle. So, that's my personal terrible super power. What about you? |
Uh oh.. any chance that you leave your front door unlocked? Sounds like you should place a bait electronic to find the cause of these disappearances xD
My super power is being able to fall asleep as soon as I start studying!! |
Oh that's an excellent idea. I've ordered a new (pre-owned kindle) and we will see if that attracts the old one out of hiding... [ninja]
That's a really great super power to have. [yes] |
Mine is listening to someone and despite doing my best to pay attention, instantly forget what they said the moment after the words reach my ears. Absolutely wonderful for taking notes. [headdesk] |

@ Nisty: Ugh I get that too, especially when meeting new people. |
Yeah, or when the boss is telling you about the things you need to do and etc. [gonk] |
Mine is saying something innocent, like 'How's your day going?', and instantly making the words act like I just killed someone's puppy. Yea, I've gotten too many people angry, upset, and/or put into a rage because I've said something that I, and many others around me, believed to be normal conversation.

I have a odd habit putting things down. then forget where I left the item at and go look for it. lols I have done that so many times.
But my poor mom has the worst luck with cell phones. for some reason when ever she gets a new phone. it will start to act weird after a few days are weeks. recently her phone has been giving her trouble. when she call's people then she has get person call her back. cause the phone won't let the person on the other line hear what she is saying. |
Call me the juicer. I spill shit all the time....

It's super frustrating. [lol] |
My terrible super power is being incredibly oblivious. I've had more than my fair share of occasions of hanging out with friends etc and someone says "OMG did you see that thing just now?"
Nope. I did not. I was listening to our conversation, thinking my own thoughts, and/or starting at the ground or into space. This is partly innate, because I am very internally focused on the things happening in my head, and partly a learned avoidance response to: 1) instability in my family during childhood, and 2) street harassment and creepy dudes. If I didn't notice it, it can't hurt me, right? (Obviously wrong, but this part of my brain isn't logical.) |
Ugh, ditto to the above. I'm so often stuck in my own head that I don't notice a lot of things happening despite my attempts to pay attention. [sweat] My mind just wanders off on its own at inopportune times... |
For me its not that I lose focus, it's that I'm too focused on my internal world. The outside world is just not as important. [lol]
|
Absent mindedness. What were we talking about?
|
The ability to work myself beyond my physical and mental limits to the extent of a horrible and exhausting crash. (I worked 7 days a week for a while with 2 jobs)
|
Mine would be not getting enough sleep. Like, yeah, I can run on four hours of sleep, but that doesn't mean I SHOULD.
|
Wow I'd pretty much die with only four hours of sleep. [lol] Like, I can get up and everything, but I'd be feeling like crap the entire day. [lol] |
I'm surprised I haven't, haha. It's not a very fun superpower, that's for sure.
|
My bad superpower is crying at things that are not sad...
I cry very easily and over the dumbest things... I can turn a happy moment into something dramatic.. I go from 0-100 really fast |
Oh, me too! I'm also a sympathetic crier which is super embarrassing.
