Seiki's VDAY Avatar Jubilee and Hangout!

Come one, come all to Seiki's VDAY Avatar Jubilee and Hangout!

Sadly I have no sweet treats to offer you; no candy for me means no candy for you! But it's a Valentine's Day event, and I have no Project Mene thread to hang out in so I'm making myself my own little corner in this lovely little event, and I hope you'll join in! There's going to be spite and bitterness, a little bit of sugar deprivation, a good cry, and maybe an avatar contest or two.

Avatar Contest Number One: Chocolate Deprivation

Though not a huge chocolate fan myself, it is the candy of love, and come Valentine's Day we all dive into it's creamy goodness. Perhaps you received some from a lover or maybe you bought yourself the giant heart shaped box of chocolates for $20 from your local Walgreens/CVS/RiteAid/whatever to drown your single sorrows whilst watching The Notebook for the hundredth time wondering why no one wants to date you. Or maybe that's just me. But because I'm so inspired by the many chocolates, I want to see how you all will be inspired by the candy of love.

For this challenge, you will create an avatar using the colors and flavors of the following chocolates commonly found in a Valentine's Day chocolate heart box and you will be allowed to supplement your avatars with any of the following colors:

Chocolate Raspberry: Brown and Pink
Coconut: Brown and White
Turtle: Brown and Caramel/Gold

Cream, White, or Black.

Any entries containing colors not in the approved color list will be denied until fixed.

Avatar Contest Number Two: Will You Be My Valentine?

No long bumbling description for this one. Simply create an avatar the you think encapsulates the theme of Valentine's Day. No color limitations.

The Prizes?

Each contest will have a first, second, and third place prize as shown below. Other prizes may be given as I see fit.

1st Prize: 1500g
2nd Prize: 1000g
3rd Prize: 500g

I have this song stuck in my head and cannot get it out. Just makes me want to dance around in a really weird way.

Cherry, I have a friend from the dorms last year who always used to come in to my room and nest in my roommate's bed when he wasn't there. She would bring snacks and her computer and make a literal nest out of his blanket and pillows. It was actually quite amusing. And that's what I picture when you make nests haha.

I was thinking of using twigs and bits of plastic garbage, but a nest of blankets and pillows sounds much more appealing! I wish I had a laptop so I could use my computer in bed. [cry]

Cherry, a laptop is quite convenient. I take mine everywhere, though my iPad is more portable.

Su, I love that song haha! But I'm the same. I didn't like it at first and then it grew on me and I can't stop listening to it!

Seiki - Yeah, the only problem is that they break so much easier than desktops do and tend to be slower. >< So I'm thinking about maybe getting an old used iPod touch or something. I can browse tumblr in bed, but still have my desktop for most computer stuff.

I like your avatar, by the way! Is there a certain story to it, or was it just what looked good together?

Thank you. It's for Project Mene. Cora took over (I don't know if you know this >>), and she's doing a back to basics theme where she is making all the challenges be challenges from past cycles. This one is the Play-Doh challenge.
