@Paprika - A good eye for detail isn't bad. :) But if you want to create purely original stuff, you have to start all over from the very beginning like everyone else. XD And not get frustrated that you're a beginner.
If you want to draw comic style, get How to Draw the Marvel Way. If you want to draw manga style, there are dozens of beginner manga drawing books (I recommend the How to Draw Manga series over the knock-off series, though). If you want to do more realistic things, there are lots of how-to books of those sorts too. :) But even if you choose manga or comic style, you need a good foundation in drawing realism. That's where your eye for detail comes in handy. You can do life-studies of your hands and feet and family and bowls of fruit and that helps a lot in drawing a stylized style. :3 *rambles* |

I get most of my stuff from the dollar store.
Well the sketch notebooks. C: <333 I buy my pencils and erasers at this Korean store. =o If you want to practice drawing and ideas, you should start with sketch book, (led)pencil, and eraser. C: I rarely use my colour pencils unless I actually plan to work on a /finished/ image...which is rare. LOL Thoth Star, I drew a quick scribble for you. I have a lot of Dollar Store art supplies too. LOL.
I try to buy my 'good' sketchbooks discounted. XD And I prefer buying a ream of cardstock to a pad of Bristol paper. XD The only places I really am willing to spend a bit of money are on costume reference books, some how-to-draw books, good inking pens (though I use the two dollar ink pens from Wal*Mart's arts'n'crafts section too, not just Copics) and markers (Copics again). XD |

I am trying to shorten my list of the things I need to draw. xD; If I get to finish this math homework, I'll do a few more freebie scribble.. maybe <o< A friend is over, but she is still sleeping. And my bros are still snoozing too. So until everyone wakes up, I am doing homework and then free time. XD; @Winter Wind // Yayy. I am super happy you like it. Sorry for the weird legs. I ran out of white space to draw the legs normally, so I had to squish them in. :D;; Yep! We have a cherry blossom park in my town. And recently the town has been planting cherry blossom trees all over town. @Caroline // I did! C: I only submitted like 5-6 photos of Earth Day images.
