Server Update
So the Menewsha server has been purring along since 2012, and has actually been up with zero reboots for 1,913 days (5.2 years.)
So although this is awesome as far as server reliability, there comes a time when you start to worry about the reliability of hardware. Is Menewsha server really going to last another 5 years? What happens if the SSD fails? Are your avatars and database being backed up on a regular basis? So with this in mind, I feel it's time to migrate Menewsha to a new server. So without further delay, over this weekend I intend to migrate make the necessary changes to upgrade the hardware behind the site. This will lead to a short downtime and a few potential bugs, but don't be worried, this will all get sorted out. UPDATE: If you are experiencing bugs related to the server move, please report them in the Help Desk HERE. By reporting these issues you can help us solve them more quickly. |
After many, many hours of bug fixing, everything is just about back to normal (well at least we can post again)

when i clicked on my username to go to my user page, Chrome gave me the error message: "This page isn’t working. www.menewsha.com is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500"
also, when i try to edit posts, when i click "save" it just gives me the spinning wheel of death and never saves. (i'm testing right now to see if it does it to this post too or just in the thread i was trying it in) |

Ohhhh Lolol! Read the announcements Carn! XD I was all freaked out when I got on today and couldn't see anything XD I can get on with my phone again. Haven't found any place I can't view.

Yeah, posting is kinda borked; I was getting 504 errors earlier when attempting to do so.
edit: seems to be working now, though, maybe? edit edit: why am I seeing multiple posts, when I'm pretty sure I was seeing 504 errors on my end? [huh] |

I noticed the skype icon now actually shows an icon, but it's nolonger clickable to be able to contact someone via skype.
AIM and Yahoo seem to work but not skype. |
