4.5 years? I don't know if I could quit after committing that much time and money into the site, hehe. That must have been a tough decision for you. Fortunately when I decided I was quitting, I had only been a member for about two years and most of that time was spent elsewhere anyways, on Mene and Zanny, hehe.

Yes well, in all honesty i'm 24 and it's about time i stopped dedicating majority of my day to something that isn't making me money or progressing my career lol. xD

Ruffles? Never heard of it, hehe. Yeah, I've been thinking a lot about that myself lately...how all my spare time goes into online and I don't have a real life. When I split up with my ex-bf I more or less became a hermit, shut myself off from the rest of the world, but I think I'm pretty much ready to move on with my life again. Problem is, physically I don't think I am fit enough to really do much about it right now. I wish this thyroid specialist would stop dragging his feet and start taking some action now.
I saw him for the third time yesterday and once again he just basically said, 'lets see how you're doing in October and what the results of your blood work are then. Maybe then I can recommend you for the radioactive iodine test.' Problem is, he is not the one who has to live with pain in his knees every single day. I'm tired of dragging my feet...I want action and I want it now, before winter sets in and slows everything down again. If they are going to kill my thyroid, I would just up and like to get it over with, so my regular doctor can finally refer me for a gastric bypass, then for knee replacement surgery. I honestly look forward to the time I can go up and downstairs without sharp pains shooting through my knees with every step I take. Then, I can finally get on with my life again. |

You need gastric bypass for that? 0____o Omg .. that's nutts i feel so sorry for you! I had a cartilage injury once in my knee that was painful had to have an op. But that sounds like nothing compared to what your going through! |
The thyroid gland is basically wrapped around your esophagus, and when it acts up, it actually swells and left untreated can actually suffocate you. It would take a long time before that would happen, and you would know something was wrong with you before it did, and I doubt you would let it go untreated to the point it would do that to you though, hehe.
It controls hormone levels (TSH) in your brain, and there are a number of symptoms that go along with it. Mine, unfortunately, went untreated for a long period of time because it took a very long time for it to finally show up in the blood tests the doctors kept ordering for me, despite my numerous attempts to tell them I knew that's what it was, because I had been diagnosed with it years before. By the time they finally detected it and put me on medication, I had developed atrial fibrilation (an irregular heartbeat). Now I am not only being treated for my thyroid condition, but the heart condition as well. A gastric bypass is where they put that rubber band thing around your stomach, and it's to help you lose weight. My doctor is going to recommend me for that once they get my thyroid regulated. When I get enough weight off, he will then recommend me for the knee replacement surgery. |
Whoa that's pretty freaky! I know someone who was born without them, he's a bit nutts - like seriously mentally deranged. His sister is my best friend - and she's literally disowned him cause he doesn't know how to act normally around other people, and keeps getting himself into huge debt and shit and his mum keeps bailing him out. He should be in a mental institute. Nivvy met him - he totally distroyed our xmas holidays last year -_____-.

I keep delaying going to the doctors cause i know he's gonna say i have too. >___< I wish i could get a gastric bypass for free xD. One of my friends got one it cost her 20k!! And it's actually quite disgusting, coz she was quite a large girl and now she is skinny but has this huge flap of skin, that's quite noticeable -_____-. I think i'd rather be fat then have a huge flab of skin hanging down lol. No offence, but seriously what was the point of paying that much and going through that much shit just to look just as bad? Ohh btw fizi i seen you joined ruffles <33 Yay! It's slow goin at the mo, but we've just started some new things up ... And we're gonna be having this really cool event called Tanabata (star festival) in august. I'm admin there btw xP, i started a raffle up similiar to Mene's but it's been real slow going.
