Roachi, I got a question for you since you live in the southern hemisphere. During school, or whenever you look at a world map, is the standard to use a map with the northern hemisphere on top or do you use one with the southern hemisphere on top?

Then get this rejection email that says "You have not met the required standard we are looking for." I'm like... wtf? xD;; Am I psycho or something? bahahaha. It's only happened once mind you, but it's enough to freak you out xD! @ Kit HOMG MOOFIN LAUNCHER! xD! Awwwweh, that was drawn so long ago xD |

Well, it's because in my Geo 1 class we had the upside down map in the room and I was on the other side of the room, and since I could see the writing from where I was, I didn't know that it was actually right-side up. And she "attacked" me with the assumption that I was saying that maps weren't supposed to be that way. Hello! I've only ever been on the N hemisphere, that's the first time I've ever seen a map like that, so how would I know. I told her that I wasn't arguing over whether it was right or wrong to have a map like that, it's just that I've never seen one so I didn't know. Geez. This is the second time she's pissed me off . . . in one week.
Who's she? The teachers? another student?
The teacher . . .
Alaunt: From the maps that I've seen, I'm (the Southern Hemisphere) still on the bottom. :) But that's just where I live, other places might be different. o_o; |
Okay, 'cause my teacher said that everyone on the Southern Hemisphere uses the latter map (from links given above).
That sounds so crazy.
Yeah. I was just wondering. Kinda seems to me that if that were so, then when you need to look at a localized map of a city and what not, it would be backwards to whoever would be visiting from the N hemi.
I think your teacher lacks imagination. Which, I think, is bad for a teacher. *nod nod*
