She has a rare cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma. It's too far spread apparently it started in her foot and has traveled up to her stomach. She has been getting radiation and chemo and she's responded well. I mean i hope she has longer then a year and she gets better, but with it so far spread they just don't think she'll live to see her daughter grow up.

Aww your friend is a smart cookie xD! My husband is being really relaxed about preparing for the baby, where as I'm starting to freak out. I would have preferred to have everything ready by now, but he wants to take it insanely slow. I have a feeling we're going to have our little boy with us, and still be lacking in items for him </3 It's quite annoying. Husband decided last week he wanted an e-book reader, and it arrived like 3 days later. It's been over three months, and he hasn't lifted a finger in getting anything for the baby. Yikes!

Roachi gave me this really cool book, where I put in all the special moments, and milestones =) Really looking forward to filling that out. I love going through all the stuff my mother kept from when I was little. Aww, such a good co-worker to be buying up stuff for other people's babies <3 I've always wanted to buy up for a friend having a baby, but all of them live so far away xD! and anytime I ask them what they need, they say they don't want anything lols!

Ughh I looove walking through the baby isles <333 I've done it for years and years, just going nuts over how cute everything is. All the cool little toys and stuff. Stuff it, I think I'm gonna start buying up for this baby, without husband's help. Just so keen to get in and see what's available!

Omg! Good on your mum kicking that nurse out, that's just insane!!!! That's so horrifying, and especially since it's a really important time in a mother's life. Geeze, I hope that nurse ended up getting in trouble somewhere along the line, for treating her patients like crap. She shouldn't be working with people, with an attitude like that.

What annoyed me with this lady, was that she's a receptionist. Usually, they're really helpful and lovely. I was just so surprised that a receptionist at that sort of place, would be so unhelpful and cold about it all. I mean you're right… it's my first time going through all of this, and I'm really high on emotions, and fear and everything. Some nice treatment, at such a high stress time goes a long way X__x;; I so should have rescheduled, but I was at the point where I was so terrified our baby hadn't made it - because I couldn't feel him kicking. I guess the need to have an answer was stronger, than wanting to avoid that silly woman.

Since all is well with the baby, I'm definitely gonna go ahead and get the DVD =) I don't think I'll be filled with the scary feelings I had, at the last scan. It's the 3D one, so we get to see the detail of his face =) It's kinda weird, but just looking at his profile 2D picture, I think he looks more like his dad lol.

The less you gain, the less you have to drop X_x;; I don't know if it's true, but I heard breast feeding helps you drop a lot of weight, because of what it does to your hormones.

Not yet </3 I wanted to get started to buying stuff ages ago, but Joe was all anti - in case it jinxed the baby's development or whatever lols. Now I'm so regretting not just going ahead and doing it without him. He has researched the essential items, for decent prices though. We'll probably hire a car seat, capsule, and bassinet thingy though. They're quite reasonable in price. We're not gonna have heaps of kids, so it's not like we need to keep them - and take up space we don't have.

Oh weird? I haven't paid a cent for the sonograms. I've been going to the scanning place in Sylvia Park. We had the option to do private scans, but the midwife told us there's no point really. It's just a status thing, that some mothers like to throw around (which sounds crazy to me lol) Nah his age is correct, because of the fertility monitoring with the fertility clinic, he's just a big baby :S Yikes, maybe he's got Joe's big head? xD;;

I think Joe is freaked at me being clucky, coz I've hated almost every other kid I've come across LMAO!

Yeah it's true! My friend at work is still breastfeeding her 1 year old. And she said she lost heaps of weight because of breastfeeding. But i dunno, if i was gonna return to work i would take baby off a month before i had to go back to work. As it is, she has to go and express during lunch time otherwise it leaks out etc lol. But if i was gonna stay home - i'd just breastfeed for as long as i could. But not too long. I think breastfeeding at 1 is a bit much. Because i find that the mothers that do that, their kids are really clingy and wingy. And it's way harder to get them off it. As my friend at work is finding lol. But then again it's meant to be very good for baby, and i guess each to their own.

I guess i can understand. A lot of people do that before the 3 month mark and they miscarry etc. I think at 5-6 months is a good time to go crazy. :). Oh yep that's a good idea. I told sarah to do that, but they ended up buying one of trademe for the same costs, and its one of those adjustable ones that can be used when they get a bit bigger. Dylan did all that research stuff too, cute doting fathers lol. I can't wait to have someone like that :).
