Solved. Please Lock.
ahem. so, after I am granted a one day of freedom on tuesday, I have to go to SCHOOL on wednesday... :/
sure, I'm kind of excited to go to school again and learn about the stuff that I'm about to learn but.. going to school reminds me of going to high school. loneliness. no friends at all. getting depressed for everyone avoids me and no one will be my partner in class .. I hate it. it took me six months to get to know someone in high school, and about a year to make her my friend.. I'm not that type who makes friends easily, and I don't look easily approachable (so I've been told multiple times).. and it's hard for me to approach anyone, since I don't really "know how to deal with girls"... meh. it's complicated. gah. I don't know, I just wanted to rant a little bit.. |
Going to a new school means no one will have any opinion of you before you walk in a room. Use this as an opportunity to decide if you like the person you were in high school, or if you want to try something new.
My advise: Make sure your hair is not covering your face, and smile! Most people respond pretty well to a smile. Don't expect to become lifelong friends with the first person you meet, but don't be afraid of everyone you meet either. Look at this as an opportunity to start fresh. No one at this new school hates you, so don't act like you are hated. You don't even need to make the first move to be someone's friend. Just keep your eyes up and smile. Someone will come. |
but that's what I was like when I went to high school.. D: I did smile when I went to class room, I NEVER have my hair covering my face..
just after I noticed that everyone were pretty much ignoring my exsistence and leaving space between us.. I stopped smiling. I'm just not as loud and giggly as the other girls usually are.. >.> but I guess since it's a whole new town and everything, I'll get a better chance there.. |
I'm the same way so I know what you're talking about. I tend to just keep to myself since I'm kind of socially awkward. If someone does talk to me, I just be myself. The way I see it is that if they don't like me then they don't like me. I think that being quiet intimidates a lot of people because they're not too sure what to think of someone like that. That's what I've been told by someone before though. Hopefully things work out okay for you. Good luck with school.
|
yeah ofcourse I try to be myself when someone talks to me, but it's hard because I really don't know what to say to a total stranger.. O.o I can have some small talk, but then hits the "akward silent moment"...
|
lol, I've had those akward silence moments. I usually just ask a simple question like, "where'd you get your hair cut?" or maybe "Ugh, School is so boring xP" I dunno, I'm a little random so it kinda works for me. Sorry if I'm not much help ^^;;;
-runs off- |
oh well, i hope someone even talks to me, today is the day... :o
|
i had a blast when i started college when i finished highschool. its fun since you're starting new somewhere new and noone knows you. so its the time to meet and find new people who don't know you. you're starting fresh and clean. i looked forward to starting college since i knew i would find new people i would be friends with. example, i found friends i might have for a long time. i found one that i plan on living with for the rest of my life.
you'll find a group of friends who are like you and you'll do fine |
I've been out of High School for a year now, and I had to quit college. But back when I was in High School I remember making a friend accidentally. On the first day of school, my mom came with me to school (embarasing), and when I got my schedule she asked a girl next to us if she knew where to go. The girl was a freshman as well, but she had taken the tour and helped me out. The second day we found each during lunch, eating alone by some stairs. We sat next to each other and ate... talked just a bit. Later we became friends, and she introduced me to another girl. We three were friends and although they talked to other, I kept to them both only. I'm also not good at making friends. If it hadn't been for my mom, I would have never made friends with her. Everyone tell me I have this 'stuck up and cruel' face... like I think I'm better than everyone else. Its funny, because I have a low self esteem, and it was even worse my first year of high school. |
well kucky for me there was one girl who was in the same high school as I was and she's the same age so we had something in common.. ^^ and atleast she spoke to me, and hung out with me all day. :3
I hope it stays that way, the other girls are many years younger than us all seem to be shyish.. o_o |
Aw, I'm sorry. I'm sure you'll make new friends! I'm excited to go to school, too, to learn and be with my friends, but yeah. I know how you feel. Maybe you can make friends with the shy-ish girls?
|
That's good that you found someone to hang out with. It's a good start. Hopefully you two keep hanging out. It'll make studying and things like that easier too. ^-^
|
yeah I hope so too.. :) she seems nice but it's still pretty akward talking to her and I don't know if she fully gets my humour or if she's just laughing nervous laughter... xD
|
I know what that's like. I had never had a friend until High School. The only reason I was able to make them is because I moved to this uber small town where EVERYONE's really friendly to EVERYONE. It's insane! I love it, though. I was actually scared of girls my own age until I met the ones up here. I'm sure college will be better, though. People are much more mature and friendly there! ^^ Good luck!
|
Awh.I know how you feel. Your probably shy.
I mean, I am kinda da same way. Last year (My freshmen year) I didn't really know many people in my classes and I didn't really have any people I know in my classes. However, I sometimes tried to make an effort to try and talk to people.Or try to approach people you think may be nice?Dun be afraid of what people may think of you as you approach. |
Sag, you're going to school! Good luck with that! I know how frustrating school can be but it can also be fun! Plus you get to learn all kinds of fun things!
|
it's kinda surprising but I'm actually really enjoying my time there.. ^^
the only boy in our class wants to be my friend xP hehe. I don't know if he's creepy or just funny, I can't really decide yet xD he talks too loud on class though, but he seems nice. the younger girls ask for my help and I like to help them.. :3 slowly getting to know each other I hope. |
i found all my friends at school and my boyfriend by accident. my friends from highschool (well 1 of them i've known since 3rd grade) both of them needed to get their photo ids taken for school. i already had mine since i did orientation over the summer and had registered for classes back a few months before hand (this was 2 yrs ago) so i sat in the lounge right outside of the hallway where the photo id office was. and talked to people. i'm still close friends with most of them (some have graduated already) and still with my boyfriend(we have plans for life together)
|
Well ~ everybody have tough times at school and other things but you don't have to be affraid.
You're probably just shy. (= Try to be funny. ;] Always works. o: Makes some jokes and things ~ |
