"You said people keep their habits in death. My habit, or lack thereof, was not drinking."

"But why?" He asked, balancing his glace in his index finger.

She rolled her eyes. "If you must know, I could never handle it well. I get...tipsy very quickly."

"I told you, it won't affect you much now. Try it." He urged.

"No, Jin, now stop." She pushed her plate away and got to her feet. "Since there's no point in me sitting here if I'm not going to eat, I'm going back to the room." With that, she walked away.

Jin gave a sigh, "How boring." He downed the glass and followed her, "Going to bed?"

She rolled her eyes. "If Isaac is done with me, then I suppose. I'm unusually tired today."

"Alright... good night." He said as he stopped, watching her go.

She stopped, a bit surprised. "You're just going to let me go?" She asked a bit suspiciously. "You're not going to follow me? Or try and convince me to stay or anything?"

"Why would I?" He asked as he moved back to his seat. "As long as you stay on the property and do as Isaac asked..." He stressed these as orders, "... you can do as you please for the most part."

She frowned. She really didn't want to be alone, but she didn't really want to ask Jin to come along with her..."Diah, come lay down with me?"
"Sure." He got to his feet and moved to her side, placing a hand on her head before following her down the hall.

Jin frowned, but didn't object.

"Are you sure you want it like this Jin?" Isaac asked quietly, staring at his wine without drinking any. "She won't be happy with you, and she probably won't listen to me..."

"Isaac, don't question me, I already know." Jin said as he set his glass down and stood.

"Wait, what're you..." Sue started, but Isaac hushed her.

"Elias, you're coming with me." Jin stated shortly.

Carol led Diah to Jin's room and curled up under the blankets, Diah taking a seat next to her. He stroked her hair softly, smiling as she yawned. "Why am I so tired?" She grumbled.
"Because you're working too much and resting too little."
"...No such thing..."

Isaac knocked lightly on her door, "Carol?"

"Yeah?" She called, half-asleep

"Jin wanted me to leave this with you..." He said as he stepped into the room and tossed her a small box.

It landed next to her and she sat up, picking it up. "What is it?" She asked curiously, peeking under the lid.

"A bracelet or anklet or something. He left for a while, work related I guess." He hated lieing, but he knew the truth would hurt her more. "He'll be gone for a while while we train you."

"Oh..." She frowned slightly, but put the bracelet on anyway, making sure it was the other wrist from the first bracelet he'd given her. "Why didn't he tell me himself?"

"He thought you'd object." Isaac said with a shrug. "I have a feeling you'll end up with a lot of jewelry."

"That's comforting," she mumbled, playing with the chain of the bracelet. "Isaac..." She looked up at him, a bit uncomfortable. "Why are you lying to me?" She'd never been any good at lying herself, but could almost always pick up on when others lied to her. "Did he leave to get away from me or something?"

"Not exactly..." Isaac said, "Well, sort of... It's not that he doesn't want to be near you, but more, he can't. He can't be near you without getting too close. And it isn't just the risk of ruining your purity, I think he's worried he'll actually fall in love with you." He looked over at Diah, "And he doesn't want you around at all. I don't know what you did, but he really hates you, Diah. I mean, you're lucky he hasn't tried to kill you yet."

Diah's eyes widened slightly. "I haven't done anything!" He then got angry. "He acts like a spoiled child with a toy that he doesn't want but doesn't want anyone else to have. It's completely idiotic!"
Carol wanted to yell at him for calling her a toy, but understood what he meant and was too bothered by what Isaac had said to really care much anyway. She'd thought Sue was just being silly when she talked about Jin falling for her...Surely Isaac was reading too much into it. Demons rarely fell in love, Sue'd said so herself. It'd be stupid and vain to assume she'd be special enough to invoke that one-in-a-million chance. "It's just because he can't have me," she muttered to herself. "Take away that appeal and he wouldn't care less."

"I don't think it's that." Isaac said, ignoring Diah all together. "And while I can't say I agree with his solution, I can understand his reasoning." He stretched, "I'm sure he'll come to his sense and come back. Until then, train with me so when he does come back you can beat his head in for leaving."

She sighed. There was no point in trying to sleep now, not with her thoughts all jumbled and buzzing around like angry bees. Her body feeling heavy, she pushed herself off the bed and moved to Isaac's side.
