Age... ever been mistaken for younger?

I have and it's extremely annoying i am in my late teens but can still be mistaken for a 12-year-old!
Every single time i go somewhere that has age limitations i have to produce something that shows that i am my age. E.g. If i want to see an "15" film i have to produce ID. It is useful sometimes when i can get in somewhere on child prices but the rest of the time it is a pain.

anyone had this kind of experience too?

I still get carded for R movies, smokes and booze D:
Though I guess looking young at my age isn't that bad xD

Lanackse 08-05-2008 10:23 AM

I keep getting told "You'll be grateful for it when you're 40". I only just stopped getting carded for booze after 25 and the drink age is 18 over here.

I've always had the opposite problem. When I started 7th grade (at 12) people kept asking me if I was the substitute teacher!
Most of my classmate at university think I'm 30-something when I'm actually 22. I've had my bus pass snagged from me by a grumpy train conductor once because he refused to believe I wasa under 18 (I was 15 at the time). I had to borrow money from my friends so I could go home and get my passport so I could prove it to them it was true and get my bus pass back...

I guess it's because I've always been and have dressed a bit big for my age. And my manners and habits are sometimes like that of an older person.

I'm 22, and I look about 14.
I'm really tiny, only 4'11'', and I have one of those really young faces.

I get that, too.

But knowing my luck, I'll probably just look like a wrinkly 14 year-old!

Dejection 08-05-2008 11:38 AM

I got mistaken for 12 a couple months ago. I'm 22.

Volucria 08-05-2008 12:01 PM

I'm 20 and got mistaken for a 16 year old a month ago. When I was sixteen, the opposite happened: my boyfriend thought I was 18-20 when he first saw me. :XD I never got told I looked too young to buy booze or anything, though - but that's probably because you can buy alcohol at age 16 here.

xlightwingx 08-05-2008 12:13 PM

I know my 26-year-old cousin has been mistaken for a high-schooler XD

I'm always mistaken for older though =0

This happens to me quite a lot. It doesn't surprise me really, seeing as i look about 11 years old. I've just got one of those faces, and being tall and fairly flat chested doesn't help much either.
I don't think i've ever been ID'd for anything before, but there aren't many things i buy or places i go that require it.

I'm 17 and the oldest I look is my age. I'm tall (5'6"-5'8"), but I have a really young face, I still have my hair long and I have small curves. Some people think I look my age, some people think I look 12. Most people think I'm 13-15. I've never been asked for an ID though, mostly because I don't go to places with that kind of age requirement. There was one point where I looked older, I was 12 and I looked 13 or 14 (I was a tall 12-year-old and thin whereas 12-year-olds are usually kind of chubby). My maturity varies greatly depending on my mood.

emuthesuperhero 08-05-2008 01:37 PM

I hate that! I'm 16 and people think i am 13. They ask me for ID when i go to 14A movies. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? That really pisses me off...esp. because I really dont look THAT young and I defiantly dont act it.

wow...maybe I should be complaining...but then again some people just SUCK at guessing ages.

Violet_Beauregarde91 08-05-2008 01:50 PM

Yeah they do!

Sagitar 08-05-2008 02:17 PM

I like it, I'm 21 years old and everyone are mistaking me as a 14-16 years old :P suits me!
I have a pretty childish face and I'm only 5'2'' tall.. :3 so that really makes me young looking. I do have curves more than people in that age usually do (although I have had these curves ever since that age).

Sometimes I wish I'd look like an adult... :/ I just can't look mature and beautiful T__T

Elwing 08-05-2008 02:44 PM

Never realy been mistaken for older or younger that was very worse but
people mistake me for someone around 18 (I'm 22) because of my behavour xD

Elixari 08-05-2008 02:52 PM

For me, it depends. I mean, if I'm being calm and civilized and just minding my own business, people think I'm 21 when I'm only 16.

When I'm being on the crazy side though, I'm mistaken for a very tall 10-year-old. (I'm like 5' 10". ><)

Sadistix_Love 08-05-2008 02:56 PM

I look older than my age! I got mistaken as my sister's mother once. How offensive >>

amyrex2 08-05-2008 03:11 PM

I am often thought to be about 5 to 7 years younger than I am. I think it is cool. Plus if you see me with my family, you will know it is not from my mother. She and my sister look their age.

applepie54 08-05-2008 03:18 PM

i have always been mistaken for younger, but its gotten a little better recently instead of thinking im 3-4 years younger than i am people only think im 1-2 years younger.

i have a friend who is almost 22 and gets mistaken for 15 all the time.

Sho-Shonojo 08-05-2008 05:02 PM

Most people think that I'm older than I actually am. That can be annoying because they tell you you're being immature or need to act your age when you actually are. :(

Purdy Possum Pie 08-05-2008 05:31 PM

I have had people thinking that I am younger as well. I am turning 28 in three more days. Everyone says I look about 23 or so. Hope it stays that way lol.

yar im pocky 08-05-2008 05:37 PM

Someone said I look 12 when I'm 22.

Avaritia 08-05-2008 05:40 PM

Many older people think I look 16 when I'm 20. B: People younger than me usually guess the right age range, at least. And all my friends think people are crazy for saying I look 16. XD I don't mind, though. P:

Hazardous Bubbles 08-05-2008 05:48 PM

I've never had that happen, but one of my friends always does. One good thing about it for her is that every time we go to the movies she pretty much always gets the child pass because the person working there assumes that she's 12.

Her boyfriend looks like he's 20 some plus he's a little more than foot taller than her, so it's pretty hilarious to see them together.

Railias 08-05-2008 05:50 PM

People ask if I;m the son of my brother

Ksenia 08-05-2008 05:55 PM

I really think I will NEVER be mistaken for younger than I am,in fact nearly every person that sees me without knowing me thinks I am 19-20 but I am just 15! Scary, all the things I could do...No,I cannot think about that,I still have my french passport to get!
