Weird looks
Okay, well I was wondering if you ever gotten weird looks, because today I did, twice at two different stores, so it goes like this, I went to the mall after I was finish eating at a buffet with my mom and brother, so I went into West 49 cuz of the backpacks for school, right?
And the guy gives me a weird look, because a girl like me who was wearing an aeropostale sweater with garage jeans go inside a skater shop, so what? I like the backpack designs, but then the backpacks were too small D; So I went into Boathouse, and I finally found the one I like, and the laptop pouch is like really furry and soft! *o* And then I told my mom to get it for me and then we brought it out to the check out and then when the lady saw me handing it to her, she gave me one of those looks that was like "It doesn't look like you'd buy these kind of things" But so what? I liked it. I can have different ways of styles. :] Discuss: Have you gotten any weird looks before? Having different kind of style and not just one? SCHOOL! :] |
I used to get a lot of weird looks when I was a teenager because I would dress in a punk-type style.. and I would even use massive amounts of hairspray and glue to make my long hair go into a bunch of really long spikes standing on top of my head. XDDD That got A LOT of attention and weird looks. I outgrew that phase but it was fun at the time. :'D
|
Lol, that seems so cool!
I've never put my hair up, it probably wouldn't stay up, since it's too long. But having spikes looks pretty cool on some people. :3 |
HAH. Yeah I know the feeling.
D: I was wearing a Naruto headband around my neck, a fullmetal alchemist shirt, a rainbow glove, and a rainbow-studded leather braclet and dark jeans with black converse. And I waltz into Claires today, looking at the keychains. And I think I terrified a ten-year-old Hannah Montanna fan. There's a Hot Topic right across the hall, and people looked at me, and then at Hot Topic, and then back like '...shouldn't you be in /there/?' I like Claire's keychains. D; I have Anime crud in my closet, white-wash jeans, and T-shirts from Target. =D I try to avoid places like Holister. The smells make me ill. And the people make me mad. D: I hate school. ;3; Highschool fails hardcore. ;3; |
I've had a similar experience.
|
@Cexlan- Lol, that seems cool.
Awee, the Claires in Canada don't have key chains I think, but Ardene's have key chains and I think they're purty as well, but they broke easily D; West 49 is similar like Hot Topic, but I think they were scared that I was going to invade them with my preppiness xDD jks jks. I haven't been to Hollister before, since it's only in the big cities >___< @Eddafred- Cool. :3 |
Clothing is always a real killer for me. I usually dress in jeans, so people are always suprised that I know allot more about fashion than most people. Fashion is... amazing. I'm just too lazy to primp every morning.
In stores, I always feel like laughing. I go from Ladies Foot Locker, to Hot Topic, to Victoria Secret, to Charlotte Russe all in one trip. I mean... walking into Hot Topic with a Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe bag? |
I get weird looks a lot because I'm a redhead XD I get ten times as many when I'm with my sister because we're twins and red headed twins you don't see every day :3
|
@Queenie- Lol, same here, I always dress in sweaters and jeans to school xDD
Lol, yeah, or going to school with a TNA sweater on and then when the higher class people are shocked to see the lower class people in a TNA sweater is like -bugged eye- for them. xDD @Angel- Awe, but that must be cool for some people to see two red heads that look a like! :3 I'd be shocked and be like "OMG! YOU GUYS ARE TWINS THAT HAVE RED HAIR! I've never seen twins with red hair before! o3o" |
I love my headband. It's Konoha, but I want sand..Which probably means little to you so I wont rant.
xD Canada. =D I like Canada. xD I collect keychains...most of them come form Claire's here in the states. c: I forget where I bought them back in London. Hm. HAHA. x3 I know some of the clerks there. I walked in with my hair all done and a pink t-shirt and white-wash jeans one day, scanning over stuff, and scared a new-worker there. The next day I came in to actually buy something, wearing a huge black FMA hoodie, my hair down, dark eyeliner, black jeans and converse. xD Depends on my mood. But they get a kick out of my style changes. x3 I think parents in Claire's actually cover their kid's eyes when I walk in. D: |
@Cexlan- O:
The sand bag person's name is Gara rite? My friend use to think he was hawt, lmao. xDD O: You've been here before, yes? :3 Ohhh, ic. Lol, really? Hahah, the new-clerks face must've been PRICELESS! xDD Ouu, ic, it'd be cool to see some changes too, it shows your unique! :3 Lolol, that's mean yet funny, how they cover they're children's eyes xDDD @Everybody- Well i'll be going to sleep now, good night, i'll be back on later on this morning to answer since it's like almost 2 xDD |
LAWL GAARA.
xD Gaara's the emo with red hair and a giant gourd on his back. =D He's spicy. xD >>; I HAVE been there. Only for a few hours, and I saw some country side on my way to Alaska. It was so pretty. D: Yeah, the clerk's face was /priceless/. xD He looked like I had some kind of disease. The one I know there patted him and said to stop staring and take a picture. xDDDDD Goodnight/morning. xD |
I got a lot of strange looks in high school. I was kind of a pseudo-goth at the time; I wore a lot of black and clothes I bought at Hot Topic, I dyed my hair this fun dark fuschia/purple color, and I did a lot of heavy eyeliner. I'd go somewhere with my parents and people were shocked when I laughed and smiled and had a great time doing ... well, whatever. People expected me to have a sour attitude, I suppose, and I really didn't. I just liked wearing black and having funky colored hair.

I constantly get weird looks. X3
I think part of it may be because of my looks when I'm out with the rest of my family, besides how I dress. My family is of the Melungeon race, which is an ancestral combination of Native American, African, Asian, and sometimes Gaelic. We generally have odd looks, but since the race as a whole have slightly darker skin and hair, people assume we are of Mediterranean descent. This is true of my family, except my mum and little sister are white-blonde, and Dad has brown-black hair. Mum and my sis have blue-grey eyes, and my Dad has green. We all have high cheekbones, and most of my family have aquiline (slightly hooked) noses. I, on the other hand, have more of an asiatic tone to my skin, coppery-red, extremely coarse hair, and purple-green eyes. My nose is a bit more broad and flat, much like the stereotypical 'African' nose. My eyes are almond-shaped, and I have much 'fatter' lips than anyone else in my family. I am also much shorter than my family. Needless to say, I do not look like I am my parents' natural daughter. XD And, since I have to wear extremely thick glasses, and use behind-the-ear hearing aids, I tend to look a little weird anyway. As for clothing, I've heard my style described as 'happy emo-goth with punk overtones' XD. In other words, insanely mixed-up. I like chains and loose-fitting pants with flared miniskirts over top, paired with vintage T-shirts or mesh-style shirts and funky armwarmers. Painted Converse shoes or platform boots are fun to wear, along with hoodies and Matrix coats. Not everything's black, either. I've got some pretty funky-coloured clothes that get mixed and matched all the time. I keep my hair in pigtails, spiked buns, or straight down my back with oddball accessories, and I have two white streaks in the front. Unfortunately, with the way I look and dress, people expect me to scowl all the time and be the type that mothers herd their young children away from. I'm SHY, but I smile. A LOT. I also laugh and talk with friends and family when I'm out with them, and I think that freaks people out a bit. Plus the fact that I am a Christian, and usually have something on me that identifies me as such, whether it be one of my home-made T shirts, a favorite hat, or some kind of jewellery. Don't let weird looks bug you. Just because you have a different style, or because you don't seem to be 'typical' for the style(s) you wear, people are going to give you odd looks. Be yourself, though, and maybe you'll give 'em something to think about. X3 |
Part of the reason I absolutely despise Ambercrombie and Fitch is because I got dragged in there with a friend once. I'm a size 4-6 in normal pant sizes, but all the clothes in there are so freaking TINY. So I go in there with my friend, right? Well, the salespeople literally GLARED me out of the store!! I was like "WTF?!" but their eyes were narrowed and everything. It was creepy. xP
|
My best friend and I get weird looks all the time but I think it's just because we're generally kinda loud and bouncy when we're around each other and when we're shopping, we tend to get a little odd.
@Librus: If someone did that to me, I'd just glare at them back. I'm a fairly large person, so I tend to get odd looks whenever I'm in stores that cater to tiny people. But I still like to go shopping because I don't give a flying you know what about what people think about me. ^^ Speaking of not caring about what people think about me, debating on the weather on the first day of classes for me, I'll be wearing one of my skirts, the matching corset top, my Konoha Naruto headband (I want a Sand and Sound one in addition to the one I have), my Slytherin necklace, and probably my Harry Potter fuzzy wristband. ^^ |

And I don't really care either, but it was just creepy. It was like...Barbie...only a billion times eviler. xD |

@Cexlan- GOODMORNING! (:
Lmao, my bad. I guess I can't spell Naruto [did I spell that right? :P] characters xDD O: Cool. Isn't Alaska really, really, cold? Cuz they make it sound like that >___< Lolol, he should've if he wanted to keep on staring! xDDD O: I've never seen a man work at a girls accessory, like in Ardene's I've only seen women ;-; @Masquerade- O: Purple hair must be cool having, but my parents would kill me if I dyed my hair D; Don't you hate it when people judge you before knowing you? Like I don't really smile in class because my friends aren't with me so people think i'm mean and stuff, and I give like mean glares when something hits me, but truly i'm a nice person as well. :3 @Yunimori- Wow, your a lot of stuff, but sometimes that would be a good thing! ;D The nose you described kinda sounded like an Asian nose, but maybe i'm wrong. Awee, you have Asian eyes! -high fives- But some people look good in glasses though. :3 Lol, herd they're young children away, funny xDD Awee, thank youus, I will! (: @Librus- Lol, I haven't been to Abercombie and Fitch. Awee, really? That person was mean! D: Awee, but I mostly go they're for the sweaters xDD Since i'm INLOVE with sweaters! :D Lol, kinda like a physco when they're looking at you evily? xDD @Shrimp_man- Lolol, my friends get weird looks while I just stand by. Because one time at Wal-mart my friends went into the isle of toys and they found star wars swords and they started fighting with them in the asiles, but the saleswoman almost kicked us out because of it. xDD |
I get weird looks when I talk in a high pitch voice to annoy people. But I guess I deserve the weird looks hahaha;
But I don't like those kind of people who just looks at you, assuming you're not this and that. It annoys my sister because she's tall for her age... and you can imagine all the looks she gets. Even being beside her, makes it awkward and annoying having all these people staring in amazement and awe at your little sister. : \ |
@sikurri- Lol, but talking in a high pitched voice is fun and it's fun to annoy your friends with it. xDD
Awee, really? People are amazed that me and my brother are the same height and he's younger than me, but like i'm tall and soon he's going to be taller than me D; |
oh yea, i used to when i was in high school..
i know it was something about my dressing, but neeh they can say whatever they want as long as im happy with it XD |
@Ai- Yeaah.
I don't really care if I get looks in highschool, but out of school is like "you're not suppose to give me looks it's not school, it's the real world!" |
people stare at me...:shock:
|
I've gotten wierd looks for walking into Hot Topic wearing an all-white dress. ^^; And then going into Build-A-Bear the day after, wearing the Tripps I'd bought the day before and one of my hoodies.
My wardrobe covers the entire spectrum when it comes to clothing. I don't like limiting myself to one style or another, so I wear them all! ^^ |
