Ok, that is not fucking normal! I'm very serious and very scared, I know this will sound gross, but please...
OMFG, I just when to the washroom and had a bowel movement (please please don't be offended, or grossed out, i'm very freaked out right now) and I literally passed a large amount of blood. A doctor told me I have a hemorrhoid, but that is an abnormally large amount of blood. How the hell can there be that much blood from one little hemorrhoid?!
I'm really freaking out, I think there might be something much worse wrong with me. Especially since I'm not gaining much weight lately and I lost about 20 pounds in the last couple months, with not much exercise and a very unhealthy diet. |
The best thing you can do is go consult your doctor.
|
Its 3 am, and what if hes wrong? Or what if it developed into something worse?
|
If the doctor actually looked in that area and saw it was a hemorrhoid than that's what it is. They are hard to miss. As long as your not feeling any otherside effects like weakness (from blood loss) Than I wouldn't worry, but I would mention it to the doc the next day.
|
I was supposed to get it removed and the blood was minimal previously, its slowly gotten worse, but I haven't seen it this bad before, never that much blood, and never only blood.
|
It was JUST blood, not any feces? Even if it was a mix of both, if it's an abnormal amount of bloo and you really feel uncomfortable with it I would definitely suggest consulting another doctor. How old are you? Is it possible for you to go to the Emergency Room? I don't say that to alarm you, but it's always better to be safe than sorry if you're that worried about it. It also pays to keep in mind what color the blood was... was it bright red, or a darker brown/black for the most part? Was there a great deal of pain involved, or did things go as usual? If the blood was bright red it would indicate a hemorrhoid or a tear in the anal tissue... basically, a problem that exists after the stomach. If it was a darker color it would indicate a problem with your digestive system further up, most likely the stomach... in other words it could be a ulcer, etc.
Regardless of age, rectal bleeding is nothing to take lightly. Even if it's nothing more serious it's still important to notify a physician since they're the only ones who can make the determination for sure. Sorry if I alarmed you or got into too much detail by the way... that's what nursing school will do to you, lol. Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon! Do keep us updated if you feel comfortable enough :) |
Yes, just blood. I just turned 19 a few days ago. Its 4am, but yes, I can call 911. Bright red. It didn't hurt...
|
Wow, that's quite rare for someone so young. Because of the bright red color though I'm sure that it's either a ruptured hemorrhoid or a tear of some sort. It's good that you didn't feel any pain at least. Have you since stopped bleeding completely, or is it still a very on and off kind of thing?
I know calling 911 can actually be very costly, especially with the ambulance ride. I'm assuming you live on your own, or at least away from your parents? If you have a car and you're not feeling lightheaded or ill it may be a good idea to drive yourself if you're within a safe distance. If you've stopped bleeding and you're not experiencing any other side effects or pain you should be alright to wait until morning until your doctor can see you... usually if you call and say it's an emergency they can get you in. Otherwise, depending on your insurance you may wind up paying quite a bit for the ER bill. Until then, I would suggest you at least take it easy... don't do any heavy lifting or anything strenuous. It's definitely something you need to bring up again though, no matter how nonchalant the doctor seemed the first time around. |
I'm a mom and one of the lasting things from pregnancy can be hemeroids. It sounds like you have just that - sorry. Best thing for you to do is fold a maxi-pad in half and tuck it between your cheeks to soak up the blood. Then go and lay down. Do NOT hover over the toilet - whenever you sit down you inadvertantly strain the area and make it start to bleed again. If you feel dizzy from the blood drink lots of water.
As for your sudden weight loss you should definately see a doctor. The combination of your symptoms is not normal for your age. The hemeroid may just be another side affect of what is really wrong. |
There is a little bit of spotting, which means I'm still bleeding, but not much, and its brown now...but only light.
Thats never happened before, not even with my period and theres no chance I could be pregnant, because I've never had sex, I know that for a fact. |
I dont think she meant that you are pregnant dear....merely that she knows the symptoms from something that she has experienced. I do feel that alot of the advice given is sound. Try to not strain yourself and call your doctor first thing in the morning. He will be able to give you the best course of action from there.
|
Nope - didn't mean you were pregnant - just wanted to tell you how I ended up with mine. Guess I could have put that better but hindsight is always clearer. Definately try to relax and stay calm - stressing yourself out is not going to help anything and will only make yourself feel worse. Call your doctor as soon as the office is open & say that you are willing to talk to a nurse practitioner, too. Sometimes they can take your info over the phone and help you out until you can get there.
Let us know if things turn out okay - hey? ::hugs:: G |
You need to see a doctor right away. I think that's a bit more serious than a hemorrhoid. I don't mean that it's NOT a hem., but the sudden weight loss and such COMBINED with the blood are definetly the sort of things you should get checked out.

Trust the doctor. I think he knows what he's talking about. After all, they went and got their doctorate degree.
|
Definitely go to your doc. And good luck with healing. I hope it'll be ok very soon.
|
be careful!!!
it could be a tape worm!!! get a stool test. |

Kittyberry, did you answer their question on whether you lived alone or with your parents? You sound like an emergency case, you know. Can't you ask someone to take you to a hospital or have a doctor come over? That's not a normal thing to happen 0_0. If you're still online, I hope you don't delay it.
Added: It's not that I wish to scare you but I still think it's not normal especially if you feel some pain. |

After having a doctor tell me that I might have an ear infection, but he can't be sure, and my tonsils might be swollen, but he can't be sure, and after seeing doctors completely miss my grandma's cracked ribs, I don't trust them all that blindly. On topic - I do hope you've been able to get to a doctor. I think the other poster mentioned a tape worm because of the rapid weight loss. If you haven't been to the doctor yet, you might want to talk to him about that when you go, because that's really not normal. |

intestine and it can cause many problems, a vet is not a people doctor. it could be tape worms, it could be a simple tear in her colon, so don't rule out things that dont seem likely. because there is more then one thing it could be. =3nyung!!!=3nyung!!!=3 |
I live with my mom. And apparently, I don't see the surgeon till November, there will be plenty of bleeding until then unfortunately. And passing a stool, even soft, has become very painful for me...
|
There's no way you should be waiting until November... especially if you're starting to experience pain. That's definitely a sign that something needs to be looked at immediately. Have you told your mother how bad the pain is getting, and how bad the bleeding was before? If you can't get in to see a normal doctor before hand you may have to try the hospital... especially if you have insurance. It can be a little pricey, but if they find something wrong most insurances will cover the entire bill. That area is nothing to be fooled around with... especially at your age. The last thing you need is for something to go seriously wrong because you neglected to get help.
PLEASE do something before November... I can't imagine what kind of damage can be done by that point if it's serious. |
I have to agree with raindroproses. Something like that could potentially be very serious, it's a bad idea to put it off for so long when it could threaten your health. You'll want to make a doctor appointment ASAP.
|
The first thing to do is not to panic!
Talk to your mother, then try to see a doctor as soon as possible. If your worried abotu soiling your underwear then just wear a pad until then. Im not much of a medical expert but if i was in your shoes that is what i would do. |
