Lily's mouth opened as she listened to Krad's stories. His life seemed like one huge romance fantasy novel. More like erotic fantasy novel.
Her hands reached up and felt her hot cheeks when she asked if she had any interesting stories. "Oh my goodness. No! Definately nothing like you have. I've only kissed before, nothing beyond that. Lydia and I are extremely sheltered in that area." |
Krad arched an eyebrow when Lily flushed simply from him asking if she had any interesting stories to tell. When she mentioned that she had only kissed before, and that she and Lydia were very sheltered on the subject of sex, Krad leaned a little closer to Lily and whispered in her ear.
"Well, if you want, I can always help you and your sister learn about that sometime. But, only if the two of you want me to." Krad leaned back up and smiled at Lily with a wink. A split second after Krad sat back up, the waitress meandered over and asked for their order. Krad looked up at the waitress and nodded at her. "Yes, I'd like a glass of orange juice." |
Rae came out of first old ladies room smiling and thanking her sweetly, then closed the door and whipped around to lean against it. She sank a little and looked at Michi before rolling her eyes and silently mouthing off to imitate that kindly old lady that was trying to chew her ear off.
After she pushed away from the door she snagged Michi's arm and pulled the girl back towards the stairs, not talking as continued to drag Michi down back to the first floor and around the corner back towards the kitchen. A glance around and the quiet of the house let Rae know immediately that Lily was out, which meant Krad had left with her. Good. She dragged Michi back in towards the kitchen and smirked when she got to the doorway and found Misha there. Here she left Michi's arm free but jutted her hip out in the doorway, blocking the main exit from both of them. "Okay, the children had left the house, Mummy and Daddy and other Mummy need to have a little chat." |
Misha looked up as Rae and Michi both entered the kitchen. He'd began to clean up the mess he'd made but now he paused when Rae seemed to have something to discuss. He leaned back against the counter raising a brow at the woman an easy smile coming to his lips as he was curious just what this was about then.
"What is there to discuss then?" Misha asked unable to keep himself from saying anything as he waited patiently. By the looks of Rae keeping them from escaping the room in her direction he supposed it was something important. |
Lily's cheeks wouldn't stop burning. She knew very well what Krad had meant by his words. What he said and the way he said it caused her to stammer when the waitress asked what she would like to drink. "Wa--T--Milk. Chocolate." She had to take a moment before she could say it properly. "I would like a chocolate milk, please."
Lily waited until the waitress had disappeared to place their drink orders before she addressed Krad. Her eyes stayed on her hands that sat on her lap. She knew what she should say as a good girl her mother tried to raise her to be. No thank you, sir. I don't appreciate those kind of advances or hints. I'm a lady, after all. But that was definately no fun, and oh how handsome he was. So instead Lily said what she felt and wanted, which surely made her mother roll in her grave. "I can ask my sister, but I'm not sure if she would like to. Maybe you could show me just a LITTLE beyond kissing." She held hand up and demonstrated with her thumb and index finger just how little. "A little beyond kissing." From there she tried to justify her response. "After all, once I'm married and can do all kinds of things freely it would be a complete shame for my husband to divorce me because I don't know anything at all." |
Krad mind went ablaze with the words that wanted to jump out of his mouth. He wanted to tell Lily that any man who would divorce his wife simply because she was inexperienced in bed deserved to get a visit from Krad that would last the rest of the man's suddenly short life span. It would be ludicrous to think that any man would not want a woman that he could teach the wondrous feeling of sex to himself. But, Krad stopped himself from saying those words. He figured that Lily was simply trying to justify wanting to find out about those feelings before she actually got married. After all, it seemed that Lily was pining for a love with Misha that wouldn't blossom. And it seemed that Lily didn't have any interest in men other than Misha, except for her recent interest in Krad. He smiled warmly at Lily and kept the volume of his voice low to keep the other patrons from possibly overhearing their conversation.
"Well, I didn't mean that it had to be both you and your sister at the same time. I just meant that, if you were interested in learning, I figured that Lydia might be interested also, but maybe too shy to ask or something like that. But, I certainly wouldn't refuse if the two of you wanted to be together at that time, either. As for 'a little beyond kissing', you'll have to tell me where the limits are at some point so I don't take it too far. You don't have to draw the line right this second, but you should think about where that line will be drawn sometime before I start showing you any of those things." Krad looked back up at the waitress as she brought the drinks that he and Lily had requested, setting the proper glass in front of each of them. Krad nodded and said thanks to the woman as she turned her attention to the other patrons and wandered off. |
Lily nodded her head as she leaned forward to drink her chocolate milk from her straw. She was glad for the distraction to give herself time to collect her emotions. Everything about her was flustered and enthralled at her discussion with Krad.
Once the pink on her cheeks had calmed down and nearly half of her chocolate milk was gone, Lily lifted her head. Another question had come to mind. "You've had a lot of lady friends, but have you had a lot of girlfriends? You believe in love right or is it just a physical thing with women?" |
Michi was only too glad to be out of the elderly woman's room, but it didn't take long before she saw Rae exiting the other one. Michi covered her mouth to stifle a laugh at Rae's mimicry, but her expression quickly turned to shock as Rae looped her arm through Michi's and very nearly dragged her to the kitchen. Upon entering the kitchen, Michi took a few extra steps, past Rae, to accommodate stopping, else she fall flat on her face.
Michi wasn't shocked anymore, when she heard Rae's declaration, however. Michi simply sighed and walked past Misha, taking a seat at the kitchen table. "Okay, let's have it." was all she said, as she waited for the questions, she could practically feel were ready to jump out of Rae's mouth at any second. |
Krad took a drink of the orange juice as he listened to the question that Lily had asked. He set the glass down on the table and shrugged his shoulders with an expression on his face that didn't show any emotion, the perfect poker face.
"Well, I've never had any girlfriends, but I did have a life mate once. Something like what you would call a "wife", I believe. We pledged ourselves to one another, and to no one else." Krad stopped there and moved abruptly to the second part of Lily's question. "Yes, I believed in love, but there was still the physical aspect to it as well, due to the incubus half of me. It's more difficult for me to fall in love now, though. Ever since my life mate...well, I've never allowed myself to love another the same way I loved her, to be honest." Krad picked up his glass of orange juice again and took another drink as he seemed to be lost in thought for a moment while staring off into space. But, he returned a moment later with a small sigh, and took another drink from the glass. |
Rae shifted her weight from one hip to the other, making the rest of her curves to a little dance as she made it known with her serious little look that she wanted to talk business before she even said anything. When the woman was ready to talk she thrusted a hand out infront of her and held up four fingers.
"We have four very important things to talk about before Lily returns with Kradnathgil. And we're starting from oldest to newest, so number one is last nights game!" Rae walked over closer to the table and put a hand over her heart. "Misha daaaaarling, why were you baking us so many sweet rolls this morning? Are you really upset over what that mean straight man said? If so, Michi and I will beat him up for you!" |
Lily pouted her lips when he mentioned he HAD a wife before. "That makes perfect sense. It must be hard to try to start off loving someone all over again."
By this time Lily's chocolate milk glass was empty. She hesitated some before she spoke again. "What happened to her? If you don't want to answer, you don't have to." The look on his face after her spoke of her made her think it must be painful to retell. |
Misha sighed some as the topic of discussion first started out with him, maybe it was a foolish thing to get upset over. Still it was not as if he'd done nothing to deserve some payback. He still couldn't figure how just a small kiss would affect anything.. after all Misha had been the one who'd helped the vampire a lot.
He blinked realizing that was all in his head and he gave a small smile at Rae. "I let things get to me too easily.. you know that." |
As Lily asked him about his life mate, Krad's expression seemed to melt into a sad smile, his mind filling with the happy memories that he had with his life mate.
"She was a wonderful woman. She was a half-breed, like I am. But, her other half was human. She loved me for who I am, not for what I am. Our love was found out by the wrong people, however. She was taken from me, right in front of my eyes...and there was nothing I could do to stop it..." Krad winced as if he had just taken a punch to the face when the happy memories in his mind were suddenly replaced with the memory of the love of his life being brutally beaten, slowly and painfully tortured, and finally murdered. All while Krad was weakened from lack of feeding and shackled. He was forced to watch while his life mate went through the heart-wrenching ordeal. The Instructor justified it by telling him it was to make him a stronger fighter. The Instructor said that love was a weakness that would only slow Krad down and make him more vulnerable. The Instructor told Krad that he needed to have hate in his heart to become the perfect, cold-blooded assassin. Krad blinked his eyes and shook his head, blocking the memories out of his mind. This was neither the time nor the place to be thinking of that time. Coming back to reality, Krad looked at Lily and gave her a weak smile. It wasn't Lily's fault that he had gone through that, and it wasn't fair to her to let her see him this way. Krad noticed her empty glass and signaled the waitress over, asking her to bring Lily another glass of chocolate milk. |
"Noooo.. don't say that Mish-Mish-chaaaaan!" Rae came over and wove her arms around Misha from behind, hugging the back of his head into her chest and snuggling with it. There was no foreplay in the action, she rather teased Misha more like her little brother. "I just wanted to help you out, but I didn't mean it to go that way. How bout when Krad comes back I hold him down and you get your payment out of tickles, mmmmm?"
|
Lily felt tears swell in her eyes. Krad had been through a terrible ordeal. It made Lily realize just how sheltered her life had been since the major sadness in her life was when her parents had passed on.
As the waitress brought another glass of chocolate milk, Lily reached out and hugged Krad. "That's so terrible. Good people don't deserve bad things to happen to them. I hope you'll find happiness again." |
"I know you're strong Rae, but hold down a creature with inhuman strength? I apologize if I don't believe you can do so," Misha replied maybe a bit too cockily as he pried himself away from her grasp with an easy smile. He didn't mind hugs but he wasn't one who enjoyed women clinging to him, as Rae well knew.
"I'm fine.. really," Misha replied with a shrug. "I'm more curious about what happened this morning." |
Rae made a fist and lightly bapped Misha in the upper arm with it with a grin. It was when she could see his smile wasn't forced, that she felt better about how things had gone down for Misha last night, he'd be okay with it in the long run. She gave a nod at Misha's curiousness though, and suddenly she was on to mini interrogation number two.
Her gray eyes turned onto Michi like a sudden carnivorous falcon seeing it's prey, and Rae walked over, leaning down across the table in front of the girl who was sitting down. "I am too, though I have my suspicions.." Rae came eye to eye level with Michi, watching her suspiciously. "Okay, admit it. You saw what Krad did last night and him still being in the house scares you." Rae didn't know why, she probably would have been surprised if she found out the real reasons behind why Michi was scared. But because of what she'd heard in french and the obvious terrified reactions their usually quiet as a mouse friend had had, it wasn't too hard to piece that much together. |
Krad smiled warmly and returned Lily's hug with a hug of his own. He used his fingers to wipe away Lily's tears.
"Well, I think I can find happiness at the inn with you and the others. Just being around you, Lydia, Rae, Michi, and even Misha has already lifted the burden of being all alone from my shoulders. And seeing the smiles on your face as well as the faces of the others helps to lift my spirits, too. Hopefully, things will start falling into place on their own, now." |
Michi had been staring at the table, but finding herself eye to eye with Rae, and hearing Rae's accusation, realization crept up on Michi, and she looked from Rae to Misha in shock. That shock was quickly followed by hysterical laughter however. And, Michi had to turn away from the table, doubling over in her chair, as her sides began to hurt.
Slowly, Michi began to breathe again, and she sat back in the chair, with one hand on her side. "Ah...well... heh, that's not very easy to answer..." Michi took a deep breath, and wiped a tear from her eye. "Ahem. Yes, I saw the tail-end of what Krad did in the back yard. That much I've already told you, and I didn't really get any sleep after. So, I wasn't really awake this morning... more llike sleep-walkig. As to whether I'm afraid of Krad or not... No. I'm not." |
Misha didn't tell her that the game might have upset him enough to have him baking some.. however it wasn't the entire reason that he had been allowing himself to bake so much. He held one piece of his past secret from them all, and it probably wouldn't be the time to point out that there was more that was unknown to them all. He'd really rather keep it to himself anyhow.
Instead of focusing on that though he turned his attention to Miki, listening to her burst into laughter and then explain it. It seemed rather odd to him, but the girl had been rather strange even before the incident as she was usually the most neatest of them all but she had come down sloppily clothed. He didn't know how to react to it though, his mind was mixed belief but he wondered if anything else was the factor. If she caught the tail end of it.. it wasn't as bad as watching all of the bodies turn to dust.. |
Rae leaned back with both eyebrows raised when Michi started to laugh like that, and she glanced back at Misha curiously like he might be able to shed light on it before she looked back to Michi for an explanation. The one she got made only one of those eyebrows go down.
"So.. if you're not afraid of him.. why did you react like he was carrying the plague this morning?" |
Lily smiled at Krad. He was so sweet and kind! "You're a perfect gentleman. No wonder Rae has a crush on you!"
The moment she said it Lily turned her head and went back to drinking her chocolate milk. Hopefully he hadn't heard that. Rae wouldn't like her secret out. Especially not the secret that she had rigged the game so that she could get to kiss Krad. ((OOC: Hehe. Lily's not too smart with her assumptions.)) |
Michi sighed, wishing her explanation were enough...
"Like I said, I was basically sleep walking, and before that I'd been having bad dreams. When I saw Krad, I just sort of flashed over to everything that I did see in the backyard that night, and... well, you saw the rest." Michi raised and lowered one of her hands, as if defeated. And then she looked at Misha with a small smile. "Haven't you ever had an incident like that?" It was low of her to appeal to Misha in this manner, but she made a mental note to do something nice for him later on. Right now though, things were getting tricky, and Michi was not yet ready to reveal her life to these people, no matter how close she felt to them. Such news would have un-foreseeable affects on them, and Michi wasn't comfortable enough in their friendship to trust them to have even a slightly favorable response. |
"I'd never started screaming at someone in different languages, no," Misha replied with a furrowed brow. He wouldn't broach the subject where he did have similar episodes before he found himself here when the smallest thing reminded him of something or someone. The only problem was it was something that set it off rather than the sight of something in a dream state.
Misha looked away with a shrug, he supposed he didn't have the right to question it further. He'd merely done so to change the subject to move the topic off of him, now Michi was pushing it back towards him. He clamped his mouth shut and said nothing more. |
Krad arched an eyebrow at Lily's remark and watched her thoughtfully when she quickly stopped talking and went back to drinking her chocolate milk. Rae had a crush on him? He noticed the different tone that Rae had used with him this morning when she stuck the last part of her cinnamon roll in his mouth, but he though that she was just teasing him. Could it be true that she actually had feelings for him? Krad supposed that it could be true. Maybe Rae had some bad experiences in the past that caused her to hide her true emotions in order to avoid more bad experiences.
Krad didn't push Lily any further on the subject of Rae. The way that Lily had suddenly stopped talking and started drinking her chocolate milk told Krad that she said something that she shouldn't have. Instead, Krad took a drink of his orange juice and asked Lily a question of a completely different subject. "So, what would you like to do next, Lily?" |
