Rae wrinkled up her nose then moved to sit in the chair beside Michi, pulling it out and leaning back with a sigh. "Well.. if you're so tired you're practically sleep walking Michi, maybe you should go back to bed for today. I don't want you getting sick because you're forcing yourself."
Rae smiled, having no clue the other girl wouldn't ever get sick in the way she thought. "It'll probably be pretty quiet around here, like usual. So why don't you just rest? Misha and I can handle things for one day, right?" Rae grinned back at Misha and gave him a wink. "And if either of you still feel like screaming later, we'll go do it down the cliff, eh?" |
Lily moved her hair behind her ear, giving a bright smile to Krad. "Well, I'm so happy that you took me out for a drink. We've really gotten to know each other so much better. We can either walk around and window shop or you can take me home. I really don't mind. You might want time alone or something."
She smiled as she waited for his response while waving at the waitress so they could get their bill. |
"Well, walking around window shopping with you sounds good to me. But if you'd rather I take you home, I can do that, too. It's your choice also, you know."
When the waitress walked over and set the bill on the table, Krad picked it up before Lily got the chance. "I'm the one that asked you out, so I'm the one that should pay the bill." Krad winked at Lily and smiled. He looked at the bill and dug the proper amount of money out of his pocket, along with a sizable tip, which he handed to the waitress. Krad told the waitress to keep the change, then finished off the last of his glass of orange juice. Then he looked at Lily. "So, are you ready?" |
Michi was almost relieved at the thought of being excused for the day, on account of being "sick".... but that meant that she'd likely spend the day alone in her room, stuck inside her own head which wasn't some place she wanted to be. So, she smiled, and attempted to put them both at ease.
"Oh, Misha. I know Rae at least knows one other language, but do you? I suppose episodes like that are the price one pays for delving into a foreign languages major." Michi patted Rae's leg, and then rose from her chair and took the few steps nessecary to close the distance between her and Misha, before embracing him in a light hug and then patting his back. "As for sleep, I can sleep tomorrow, I'm fine for now. I promise you. Besides, I have no intention of missing out on this party tonight..." At the mention of the party, Michi flashed a radiant smile at Misha. Followed by a secretive wink. Michi walked back toward Rae, and kissed her cheek before leaving via the rear door to the kitchen, on the way to the bathroom. "Don't worry, you two. If I have any problems, I'll be sure to let you know. |
"If I see you about to collapse I'll put you to bed myself," Misha told her with a small smile. He'd embraced her back briefly when she hugged him but his mind was elsewhere really. The reminder of the party perked him up a bit though, he'd be able to see Liam again and get to know the guy.
Still though.. his mind turned to Krad still, the man would be there at least a week. He supposed the two would have to learn how to be civil to each other. Perhaps he could grab him for a private talk before the party. He fingered the hem of his shirt briefly wondering what it was he would say anyhow.. |
Rae blinked when Michi got up and started to leave, and the drama queen did a nice flailing monologue scene. "Hey wait! I said I had four things to talk about, that was only two!!" She huffed and put her hands on her hips after, turning to Misha with a sigh. "Well number three isn't going to work as well without her here... but I guess just you and I can talk about it. I wanted to know what you both thought of last nights events... Lily and Lydia don't seem shooken up by it so I think those dears slept like dead logs."
She rolled her eyes and moved over to peer into the garbage can, wrinkling up her nose as she finally found the source of the burnt smell. "Mmm..so!" The girl whirled on her feet in place to gaze at Misha, her only subject for talk unless Michi heard her raving about the other vampires and didn't want to leave the two alone to get ideas about them. "There are obviously more than a few vampires, as we saw last night. They fought with Krady.. and though they won, I gotta wonder what they were doing here. Were they chasing him here.. or maybe have they been here before? What do you think?" |
Lily smoothed out her skirt before moving to take Krad's arm again. "Well, I am really enjoying our time together. I do want to get home and discuss with Lydia about what we mentioned before. I'm not sure what she would say though. She's so interested in romance rather than being curious like I am."
Her eyes drifted down to her shoes. Thinking aloud she added, "I'd like new shoes, but I have to wait until next payday." Once she said that statement her head lifted up again. "What do you think of Rae? Pretty right? Would you be interested in her romantically?" Lily was still curious about physical aspects of a relationship, but there was no way she would utilize Krad's skills in that area if there was a chance he could have a legitimate relationship with Rae. |
Michi returned to the kitchen a short while later, catching the end of Rae's statement. Though, she'd been able to hear a fair amount of it from the bathroom, given the voice that Rae was speaking with.
Michi smiled, and laughed a bit. "I was just using the bathroom, Rae. And, I find it odd that you're fine with Krad finding this place, but surprised by other vampires having found it as well." Michi shrugged, and grabbed a pitcher of chocolate milk from the fridge, which she then poured into a short, fat glass, before returning to her seat at the table. |
Krad offered Lily his arm so she could loop her arm through his and nodded at her comment of wanting a new pair of shoes.
"Well, if you want a new pair of shoes, I can buy you a pair. It shouldn't take too long to choose a pair of shoes, should it?" Krad had absolutely no idea how long some women could take to choose a pair of shoes. He figured that maybe Lily already had a pair of shoes in mind and that it'd be a simple matter of walking into the store, selecting the proper size, paying for the shoes, and leaving the store. That would only take maybe 15 - 20 minutes, right? When Lily asked Krad what he thought about Rae and if he thought that he'd be interested in Rae romantically, Krad had to stop and think for a moment. "Well, Rae is pretty, but so are you, Lydia, and Michi. And all of you ladies have interesting qualities, too. As for being interested in Rae romantically, I don't know. I mean, it takes two people interested in each other to make a romantic relationship. And there's still the memory that I have of my life mate. I don't know how that would affect the possibility of me getting into an actual romantic relationship. Besides, I'm part incubus." Krad stopped talking there, as if his last statement explained everything. What he actually meant by his last statement was that he was drawn to most women as a possibility for romance. It was in his blood, and he couldn't really control that part of himself. If he had a chance of some sort of sexual encounter with almost any woman, he'd take that chance. Because of the incubi blood coursing through his veins, Krad never really thought of an actual romantic relationship. The incubus in him wouldn't allow him to think of something like that very easily. |
Misha gave a small shrug as he thought about it. He was more concerned about what he heard from the conversation rather than the fight itself. Though with the fight it made him glad Rae had stepped in when the vampire wasn't looking. But as he thought about that he looked up at Rae.
"I recall the Instructor saying he brought them here to train the ones that were following him," Misha said in a curious tone. "That on its own states that they weren't intending to even find Krad here." |
Rae frowned, recalling what Misha had heard now herself and thought about a little more of what had been talked about before it had all become personal over Krad's past. "... I wonder.. what do you think training meant? Do you think it meant like.. hunting down humans?" Rae pouted, her head was conflicted with media vampires that saw human's as cattle and the only real vampire she'd met.. Krad, who had actual been civil towards them so far... besides the little matter of how he'd snuck into the house.
She looked worried, but more than that she was thinking when Michi came back in, and she gave the girl a serious little pout in thought. "It's not that they found it.. I'm wondering how many times before they've found it, and if they'll be coming again. No matter how much Krad says he isn't the type to eat us in our sleep.. I really didn't get the same vibe from those guys out the woods.. they just looked so.. like well Return of Dracula evil! That's what!" |
Lily nodded her head as she listened to Krad speak on romantic relationships. It was still sad to think about what happened to the woman he loved. "Oh, I see."
She thought for a moment before smiling again. "You know, if you really want to get Lydia interested in what we talked about you should read to her. She loves romance books especially, if you happened to pick one up and offer to read a few pages to her she would definitely swoon over you." Lily motioned towards the shoe shop where she saw such a pretty pair of boots the last time she walked by. Once inside she dropped Krad's arm and went to the boots to pick them up. After admiring them a moment she was immediately drawn to another pair of high heels. Since Krad was buying, the sky was the limit! Lily pointed out the pairs she was interested in then sat down to try on shoes and figure out which ones she wanted. |
"Romance books, hmm?"
Now there was something that Krad had never heard of before. Were those books written about how to have a romantic relationship? Or maybe some people wrote books to tell others about the relationships that they've had in the past? Krad didn't really understand what Lily meant about those books, but Lily was giving him pointers on how to get her sister interested in him in the manner that Lily and Krad had discussed earlier, so Krad was listening intently. After all, who would know Lydia better than her own twin sister? Krad followed Lily to the shoe store and watched as she selected a pair of boots and a pair of high heels. She pointed the pairs out to an employee and asked to try them on. Krad watched as the employee brought the boots and the heels over and as Lily sat down to try them on. |
Michi frowned as she listened to Misha and Rae discuss a conversation that she'd obviously missed. It would have been helpful to have some knowledge of it before hand, but under the circumstances it was enough for Michi to understand why Rae looked so worried right now.
This place was a little out of the way, which is what they all loved about it, but that also made it appealing to a group of vampires, which was an obvious problem. Michi was sure there were ways to protect the house, especially after all of her years here. But, it would be good to confer with Krad on that fact. "Well, when Krad comes back, why not just ask him about some protective measures... things that might deter any more vampires from poking around here?" Michi shrugged. It would have to be soon, she imagined, if they were going to have time to get ready for the party... A thought just struck her, and she almost jumped out of her seat. "Oh! I just remembered... where are the two older women?!" Michi recalled Rae saying they'd requested to go horse-back riding or some such thing, but that was all. |
Once Lily had taken her time choosing which shoes to buy she showed them to Krad. "They're so pretty aren't they?!" She hugged the box and motioned him to stand up so they could pay and go home.
"I bet my arch nemesis Cynthia doesn't have beautiful shoes like these. Later today I'll be sure to walk by her house clicking my heels on the pavement. I really do appreciate you buying them for me. We can head home once we pay for them." |
"That's all I can figure," Misha responded to Rae's question about what they had meant by training. He wasn't sure what else there was for a vampire to do out here that they wouldn't get at wherever they normally stayed. He turned to look at Michi made her suggestion and gave a small nod. If anyone could help them set up protections from other Vampire attacks, it would be Krad..

Rae nodded in agreement herself over Michi's idea to get Krad ideas from Krad to protect the property. She ran a hand back through her dark waves and sighed, glancing directly up towards the ceiling both in thought and to point with one long orange tipped finger.
"They're still upstairs. I'd have heard them come down, but they should be any minute now. There thing starts in about an hour and the jeep's probably going to be waiting outside for them any moment, if not already." She pouted and pulled her finger now to nibble in though on the tip of her hard acrylic nail, her steely eyes tipping back down to look from Misha to Michi. "We all came here for a home. A quiet, safe, and complete home. I'm not giving that up so easily just because we got knocked a notch down on the food chain." |
Krad noticed how much Lily liked the shoes, and he nodded and gave her a happy smile. If she liked the shoes that much, then it was worth whatever price was listed on the price tag.
"I'm sure that Cynthia will be full of jealousy over your new shoes." Krad walked up to the register with Lily and waited for the cashier to ring up the shoes. When the cashier rattled off the total price, Krad handed her the requested amount of money. Once he got the change back and Lily was handed the bag with her new shoes inside, Krad offered his arm to her so she could loop her arm around his and they could start heading back to the inn |
Lily hugged Krad's arm happily as she walked back to the inn. "You're so sweet. I can't even imagine why I was afraid of you at first."
The image of a terrifying vampire had melted from her mind into that of a strong and caring man. She was sure once the others got to know him better they would feel the same way. Rae had definately chosen someone great to crush on. Lily glanced to the side as she thought about how easy she, herself, could start liking him more than just as a friend. It was so easy with his gorgeous looks and kind personality. She already admitted to wanting to learn about intimate things with him. |
Krad shrugged and smiled in response to Lily's statement of wonder as he walked with her back to the inn.
"Well, probably because I'm the first vampire that you know you've met. Up until you met me, you thought that all vampires were fictional works of imagination. But, when you met me, it became suddenly clear to you that vampires actually exist. Add to that the countless vampire movies and books that you've surely seen and read, and I'm sure that they made you believe that all vampires were bad and mean. It's not really surprising that you were afraid of me when you consider those things." When Krad and Lily reached the inn, Krad opened the door for Lily, then followed her inside. |
Michi chuckled as Rae made a comment involving the house's status on the food chain. It was a serious matter, but the words struck her as funny none-the-less.
Michi took a drink of her chocolate milk, and began slowly turning her glass between her palms. There was one more thing that Rae wanted to discuss, wasn't there. Michi looked up, at Misha but he seemed to be lost in thought. So, she turned to Rae, "Um, was there something else you wanted to talk about, Rae?" Michi asked her, with a lilt in her voice. Her eyebrows were slightly raised, though it might have been hard to see below her hair which was currently set on making it's way into Michi's face. Michi combed her fingers back through her hair and attempted to tuck a few strands behind her ears as she awaited Rae's response. |
Rae rolled her steel colored eyes back onto Michi, then gave the girl a sudden sly grin, which when it appeared over a serious face so quickly usually meant Rae was up to something.
"Yes yes yes.. this is actually the most important of all the things we need to discuss this morning." Rae walked over to Michi and looped an arm around the other girl's shoulders, pulling their heads in close she looked at Michi then gave a nod towards Misha and looked at his quiet features across the room. "The most important topic is... operation get Misha and the cute produce boy alone at the party! We must set up a strategic plan of action!" |
Misha was curious about the fourth subject as well but when Rae had closed the gap with Michi and nodded over to him.. He knew it was about him and he wanted in on what she was saying. He'd crossed the room quickly and raised a brow when he'd over heard Rae. He gave a small shake of his head.
"Should I have confidence in these plans of yours?" Misha teased as he leaned in towards the girls. "The last one went off without a hitch, didn't it?" |
Lily walked into the inn after agreeing with Krad's analysis of why she had been afraid of him before. As she stepped inside she announced that she was home. "I'm back!"
She took the shoe bag from Krad, eager to show them to everyone and anyone who would let her. "Thank you again for such a fun afternoon!" She blew him a kiss before heading up the stairs to show Lydia her purchase first. |
Michi winced when Rae told her what the fourth topic was that she wanted to discuss. And, when Misha made his comment about her last plan for him, Michi grinned and laughed a little.
"Yes, I dunno about this. Although, her outline is much more simple this time." Michi said, as she nodded in agreement with Misha. "This time she only wants to get you and... 'the produce boy' alone together." Michi shrugged, as she'd forgotten the boy's name. |
