Michi blinked repeatedly. "Really?! I- I had no idea..."
That was news to Michi, considering the fact that her mother always acted as though she'd never recieved the respect her station deserved. Michi had never known exactly what station her mother held, but if what Krad just told her was true, then it was a complete puzzle to Michi as to why she'd been treated so poorly... Although, it did explain the odd looks that others had given Michi. "<Wow... No one ever told me...>" Michi sat on the stool in front of her dresser, and began playing with her hair again. And then she looked back up at Krad. "<So, then why are yours red?>" Michi had slipped into the old Romanian language again while speaking to Krad, in case someone happened to overhear them speaking. |
Krad shrugged at Michi's question.
"<Red eyes are a sign of elite speed, strength, and stamina. In other words, I'm faster and stronger. And these attributes last longer than your typical vampire. This is probably due in part to the royal incubus blood that flows along side the royal vampire blood in my veins. In addition to myself, there are only thirteen other vampires that I know of that have red eyes. And they're all members of the Numbered Elites.>" Krad paused a looked at Michi, assuming that he answered her question to her satisfaction. Of course, he wasn't sure that she understood everything he had just explained to her, either. |
Michi scoffed, "<elistist... sounds typical...>"
Then Michi laughed and looked at the clock on the wall. "<I guess there's a lot I don't know. But, it looks like we're running pretty short on time. Speaking of time, are you planning on coming to the party?>" It was genuine curiosity on Michi's part, asking Krad if he were planning on braving the salty sea air. Michi knew he must be skeptical of his abilities in such a situation, but she suspected he might also be curious. After all, Michi had managed to live here for the last several years. Michi suspected they wouldn't be staying in the room much longer, and so she chose that moment to return to her usual appearance of waving red hair and eyes like liquid Jade. |
Krad didn't know what time the party was supposed to start. The only thing he had been told was that it was supposed to be tonight.
"<I hadn't really decided if I was going to go or not. I'm still trying to decide, but I'm not even sure how much I'll be effected being down on that beach so close to the water. Since you're going to go, I assume that it either won't be as bad as I assume, or that you've built up a bit of a tolerance.>" |
Michi shrugged and gave krad a non-committal response, which would hardly be considered verbal, and she began fingering the velvet pouch that was tied to one of her belt loops.
"<I'm not really sure what to tell you about that. I may have simply developed a tolerance, but basically I still try to avoid the water out there. I have never gone swimming, and if I know I'm going to be out there in the breeze for an extended period of time I try to make sure I have some bottled water or something liek that. It helps to keep the salt out of my mouth. Ammm, as far as the party goes I had planned to try and find a fire that's set up the farthest from the water and try to fit myself in there. Most of the people at the party are likely to be pretty drunk, or at least too relaxed to care much about what goes on around them, so that should be safe.>" Michi shrugged again, and rubbed her palm against the soft velvet of her small pouch. |
Enough thoughts ran through his mind that the minutes of relaxation he gave himself passed too quickly. Sitting up and then standing once again Misha went rummaging through his dresser to pull out a dark pink tank top and examined it briefly before pulling it over his head. A black, brown and tan striped belt went through the belt loops and he found a plain whit button up t-shirt in his closet to pull on and leave hanging open.
He fingered through is small amount of jewelery and found a black hemp choker with shells braided into the front that were white hued brown and a slight shade of pink. A matching wrist band went around his right wrist and his outfit was complete. At least his make up was plain and would go with anything he put on, he only wore eyeliner this night. He ran a brush quickly through his long strands of hair but he left it hanging down, a hair tie was hidden beneath the wrist band if it annoyed him too much but otherwise he was finished and liked the look. For shoes all he slipped on were a brown pair of flip flops. With that Misha began making his way down the hall to head downstairs. |
Rae had finished touching up her makeup and fixing her hair but pulling it down and letting the short waves of curls angle around her slender neck. Adjusting her white mini-skirt back into place one last time, and adding a long gold chain belt to match her dangling earrings, Rae picked up a purse and stepped out of her room.
She headed down the stairs and sat at the front foyer, checking the clock there. She wouldn't personally go to the party until the old ladies had returned from their trip, but that wouldn't be too long a wait. She suspected the others would go ahead of her. |
Krad gave some though to Michi's words.
"<Hmm. Staying close to a fire as far from the water as possible and keeping bottled water with you. I suppose that's a possibility...>" Krad noticed that Michi had been looking at her clock earlier and thought that she wanted to finish getting ready to go. He also noticed her fingering a pouch that she had tied to her belt loop. Krad didn't know what Michi had in that pouch, but it seemed like she had something important in there. In any case, Michi was starting to look anxious and fidgety. Krad decided that she was probably waiting for him to leave the room for some reason that only she knew. So, Krad stood up and headed over to the door of Michi's room. When he spoke to her again, he had reverted back to the English dialect so as to not raise anyone's suspicion, if they happened to be close by. "Well, I still don't know if I'm going to go to this party or not, but I need to make preparations if I am going to go along." |
Michi nodded and smiled at Krad.
"Okay, and thanks for being honest, you know?" Michi stood up as well now, and followed Krad out of the room, closing her door behind her and heading toward the foyer once more. |
Misha's feet lead him to the foyer where he didn't have to wait too long for Rae to join him. His eyes glanced over her outfit briefly, giving an approving smile even if he was looking at the clothing rather than the body beneath it. They were joined shortly after by Michi dressed within her own style.
"Hello again you two, both of you look fantastic," Misha said with a small innocent compliment as he stuffed his hands into the pockets of his khaki shorts. They were some of the loosest items he had in his wardrobe, but they were also comfortable. |
Michi smiled and blushed a bit at Misha's praise.
"Thanks, but Rae did my hair for me." It was at least partially true, and it was always easier to get nice looking hair, especially long hair, if it's on someone else. Michi smoothed the black shirt out. "You look very nice too, Misha." Michi said and nodded then took a seat near Rae. |
Rae giggled and did a little twirl with one hand on her hip for Misha when she got complimented, then went to take her seat behind the front desk of the foyer. "You're a regular little flirt, Misha!"
She grinned and slid the upper left drawer in the desk open, slipping a slim black box from it's contents into the slim contents of her purse which had had nothing more than lip gloss, a bit of cash, and her phone in it previously. She grinned more and put a hand to her cheek, playing the innocent part though it was obvious she was eating up any praise on her part. "Oh I just brushed it out a little, that's all! Are you guy's ready to go? You can go on ahead without me, I'll be along to the party soon!" |
Lily slammed the door behind her as she left her sister's bedroom. What a party pooper. Her sister had all but called her immoral for mentioning experimenting with Krad. The worst part about it was bringing up their mom in the topic and how she wouldn't approve. It would take more than mentioning the idea to get Lydia interested in her idea. Of course, that didn't meant Lily couldn't have fun of her own in the meantime.
Lily started for the piano to play a few songs when she heard the others in the foyer. Her ears caught the word "Go", and she immediately made a detour to catch up with them. "Go? Go where? Where are you going?" |
While Krad was sitting in one of the kitchen chairs and contemplating whether or not to attend the beach party, he heard the slamming noise made by someone's door on the second floor. He knew it wasn't Michi that made the noise, since her room was on the first floor. Krad's keen hearing had picked up the voices of Misha and Rae in the foyer earlier, so that ruled them out. He also knew that the guests had left for the day to go on some sort of excursion. Therefore, by process of elimination, that only left Lily or Lydia as the source of the slamming door. Krad spoke out loud to no one, since he was alone in the kitchen at the moment.
"Hmm. I suppose that means that Lydia didn't care for the discussion that Lily wanted to have with her. I hope that they aren't too mad at one another for it..." |
"Thank you Michi," Misha replied with that sweet smile of his that lit up his eyes as well as his face. He enjoyed getting compliments on his wardrobe, or how he looked in particular. Much like any girl would. The smile turned into a grin at Rae's flamboyant twirl, showing off her outfit in all directions.
He looked up as he heard Lily come in with her question. He gave an easy smile and a polite bow of the head. "We've been invited to a beach party by our lovely new produce supplier." |
Rae rolled her head to the side and grinned up at Lily as the girl came bouncing down the stairs, practically taking them two at a time to see what was going on. She'd frogotten the twins hadn't really been around much today to hear about it.
"I'm just waiting for our little bitties to get back from their horse thingie. Then I'll head on to the party. But you guys can go ahead of me if you want. Why don't you go grab Lydia and Krady and head out?" |
When Rae mentioned Krad, it reminded Michi of her intention to grab a bag to carry some bottled water, and the other essentials any girl might carry when leaving the house for a while.
"Oh, Crap!" Michi practically leapt up off of her seat on the stairs and began heading to the kitchen. "I forgot about something, it won't take long. " When Michi entered the kitchen, she almost jumped as Krad was sitting in one of the kitchen chairs when she walked by. "Gah! .... hey, your ears must be burning." Michi laughed as she grabbed a couple of bottles of water from the fridge. Then, she grabbed another which she tossed to Krad on her way out. "Hope you've made a decision!" She called to him, over her shoulder. After the water bottles, it didn't take Michi long to find a small back-pack like purse to put them in, along with her small velvet pouch, and a couple of other things including her cell phone. Michi slung the bag over her shoulder, and returned to the foyer. It had only been about 15 minutes since she'd left, however. To Misha, she gave a bright smile "Okay! Now I'm all here. Hehee. Krad was in the kitchen when I went in..." Michi's voice trailed off as she looked around to see if Krad had moved to the foyer or anywhere she might see him from here, while she was getting her purse. |
Krad arched an eyebrow when Michi yelped out at seeing him when she entered the kitchen. When she mentioned that she thought that his ears must be burning, he tilted his head to the side. Krad still didn't understand all the expressions that mortals (and those that had been around them for a while) used. He didn't have time to ask Michi about it, however, for she went straight to the fridge and tossed a bottle of water at him. Krad caught the bottle and looked at it for a moment before the meaning behind it came back into his memory. By the time he looked up again, though, Michi had already left the kitchen.
Krad sighed and shrugged his shoulders, then stood up and made his way to the foyer with the bottle of water still in his hand. |
"Well.. is everyone ready then?" Misha asked looking at the small group, though Rae would be joining them later Misha was itching to go. His eyes caught Krad following Michi back into the front foyer. "Have you decided to come then?"
|
Rae's gray eyes slid to the slid, not looking at anyone for a moment as thoughts clouded her vision. Thoughts she'd been wondering about for a little while now seemed to be growing more persistent and stronger with the new bodies hanging around the house, the ones that were cold and undead, mostly.
She glanced back into the foyer when she heard everyone was gathered but Lydia, though she knew Lily would probably make quick work of going up and gathering her twin before following the others out. She kind of wished they would already go, she wanted to sooth these thoughts out of her mind otherwise she wasn't sure she would be able to fully enjoy herself tonight, whether she looked it or not at the bonfire down on the beach. |
Michi grinned and fairly bounced as she stood there looking from Misha to Krad. She hadn't felt so excited in a long time, and she was anxious to get going, even with the possible problems the ocean could create.
"Oh, yes please. Let's get going." Michi took a few steps toward the door, then turned and looped her arms through Krad and Misha's, grinning. |
Lily crossed her arms slowly and gave a slight pout. "I'm not going to bother Lydia. She's not in a very good mood at the moment."
Lily glanced at her outfit and deemed it worthy of a beach party. She would just go the way she was. Lydia would have to hear their conversation in order to offer to come. |
As Michi looped her arm around his, Krad was about to object to being dragged to the party when he was perfectly capable of making his way there under his own power without getting lost. When he saw the harmless grin on her face, though, he decided it better to just keep quiet and go along with it. As they were passing by Lily, Krad reached out and took hold of her hand to bring her along, pulling her along much the same way that Michi was pulling him along.
"You ought to come along to this party as well, Lily. Besides, this way you can tell Lydia later that you were dragged along against your will." |
Misha chuckled and followed Michi's lead out the door somehow managing to get through without anyone walking into the walls on either side. He smiled pleasantly as they walked looking over at Krad with a half grin, supposing Michi made up the vampire's mind for him. Tonight was going to be fun if it went his way.
|
Lily opened her mouth to protect, but couldn't bring herself to say no to Krad. Instead, she held onto his hand and giggled.
"How very true! You are so smart, Krad." |
