Saw does not own that weekend, and in the past it has never been the ONLY movie to come out on that weekend either, so un tangle your panties and take a chill pill. Saw will still do the same saw weekend, the same as it always does. Different movies running along side, same as always.

Umm, does it really matter when HSM3 comes out? It's not like Saw fans will go see HSM3 instead. & I don't think Disney did that on purpose or anything. The movie just happened to premere on THAT day, there's nothing wrong with that. And your statement really doesnt make any sense, seeing that you don't like Disney to begin with. So it's just your biased opinion.

I also don't agree with the whole Disney thing. Not all movies are based on blondes being perfect or anything of that matter. Take Camp Rock for example, most of the main characters arent plastic or anything. Also, most of the pictures on the internet of the teenage girls showing off their bodies were meant to be private. I just think you're being really biased. That's my opinion on the whole thing.

I request a thread lock, please...

You can't really do that, since it's not your thread, and it will more than likely die on its own anyways. :)

I agree with everyone that Saw does not own any particular weekend. Yeah, it comes out in a certain time period whenever there's a new movie, but the Harry Potter movies generally do the same thing. Is any movie coming out on "Harry Potter Weekend" committing the same kind of blasphemy?

Really, in short: go out and see the new Saw movie instead of seeing High School Musical 3. It's not like there's any real competition - they're for completely different markets.

I guess I just don't know what you're complaining about.

First off, why would Disney want to mess with Lions Gate? Each company targets different audiences. Disney is made for kids, it's completely geared for the lighter people who want music and to see something fun. Saw on the other hand is for the gore fans, most Lions Gate productions are geared towards the older age groups. Disney would have no reason to pick on Lions Gate, HSM3 just so happened to be appropriate for that weekend because editing is all done and the company cant waste money by holding back for some fictional tradition.

1. It's my thread, not yours
2. Why?
3. It's not going against the rules.
4. Do you always request a lock on a thread just because you don't like it?

Marguerite Blakeney 08-23-2008 05:29 AM

1) I KNOW it's your thread.
2) There's too much arguing and bashing going on in here
3) Maybe it's not but I'll reiterate there's a lot of arguing in here that should go in the Debate forum if needed.
4) I have never requested a threadlock until now. Not that I don't like your subject matter here but if you're saying that Disney is screwing with Lionsgate, some of us would probably know HOW you know, and WHY they're screwing with Saw weekend. Yeah we can tell that you don't like Disney's current actors and actresses because you say they're so-called "plastic" people but claiming that production companies are messing with each other just to screw over a tradition needs proof. Again, Saw does NOT OWN a specific weekend. It's nice to have a tradition, but I don't see why you're so against HSM being released on the same weekend that Saw is.

I'm through with this. Have your thread any way you want.

I hope you don't ever have children with that logic.

There is a lot of arguing in this thread and it's starting to get out of control, so it might need a lock AND unless you can happen to pull proof out of your ass that Disney is "messing with" Lionsgate, there's no fucking point to the thread and it should be locked.

I find it funny that if it was something about feedback and there was that much arguing in the SF forum, it'd already be locked by now.

Saisei 08-23-2008 02:30 PM

...and if MistressVampFreek would've responded in a civil manner, or if anyone after her would've tried to keep a civil tone, the topic would've stayed open.

I guess some folks just like self-fulfilling prophecies.
