Are we still waiting on someone to turn in scores?
I'm just having a hard time following this thread, it's moving to fast for me to be checking it only once or twice a day  |
I have no idea Keyori.
Awe, my avatar is gone from the first page. Sign of doom. |
What are you talking about, Hime? I see it.
|
It's gone for me too o_o
You look cute though >_> |
Oh, hey, your avatar actually is gone. If you quote the post, your image tag isn't there at all.
What is your stereotype, by the way? I figure it's safe to ask now since I think all the judging is done. I guessed punk, and Chi thinks Loli. |
I guessed goth for Hime actually... XD And otaku for elektra's.
|
I was actually more inspired by goth Cami xD
Though, I guess a bit of loli as well xD |
Well, loli seems to be a type of goth, so it works. XD
I guessed schoolgirl for Elek, but as I don't know what otaku means, maybe it's the same thing. <<,, /goes to look/ |
I couldn't figure out Elektra's
|
An otaku is someone who is obsessed with japanese stuff, but usually people refer to otaku when they are referring to nerds; manga and anime fans also like to call themselves otaku in the us c:
*did thesis about this stuff* xD |
That's an interesting thing to write a thesis on.
|
I wrote a paper on "That's so gay" because that phrase really makes me angry. I really hate when people say it ^^;
|
It doesn't bother me as much as it used to >_>
Probably because I hear gay people say it. A lot. |
Seiki changed?
WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN :ninja: |
Probably while he was avoiding us.
|
Oooo, I like Seiki's new avatar. <3
Though, I think more of that gold-ish yellow colour should be at the top of his avatar. XP |

Seiki, come back! |
I thought japanese schoolgirl for Elec... and I was thinking punk...ish for yours Hime
|
I'm starting to get antsy about the scores again. D: I made it all the way to Wednesday night this time!
|
When I think of punk... I think of worn-out skinny jeans and bright messy colors. And punk hair xD
|
I actually wrote my senior thesis on the punk and beat movements. The actual original concept behind punk was just using things that have a definite meaning or use out of context. So, for example, wearing a loose tie with no collar would be considered punk. So would putting paperclips through your clothes or wearing a swastika.
|
Anti-fashion is punk. :)
|
@Cami: that's interesting. I think most subcultures start off as anti-something though? If not it would just be mainstream, however you can define that.
|
The original punk and beat movements were actually extremely inclusive. Sure they were anti-mainstream, but their whole philosophy was anyone can do anything. Anyone can write. Anyone can play music. Anyone can sing. That's why punk music is somewhat known for screamed lyrics and off-key singing. Because anyone can do it, man. Jack Kerouac's writing tips include, "No fear or shame in the dignity of yr experience, language & knowledge" and "You're a Genius all the time."

That's really interesting! Did the girl know her girlfriend identified as a guy? Quote:
Even if it's ironic, it's still really disrespectful. @Cami- Re. the punk/beat thesis- That is SO COOL. We talked to a guy today who was teased at school because he dyed his hair blue and sang (screamed) in a punk band, but his friends in the band deeply cared about him and he had a friend who would really listen to him talk about how his day was and just nod and say "I hear you." I think the punk/beat scene is one of the most beautiful forms of expression in how real it is, since it's all about just being yourself. [/TL;DR] |
