Wow what cool names. I like unique names. Mine is plain and ordinary.
|
@Suona: Well my birth year was apparently the peak for my name, which subsequently faded out from popularity. I've hated my name ever since I was little because there were so many other girls with the same name.
I've become more fond of it recently though, since my name has somehow managed to become unique. XD Apparently no one noticed until now that I pronounce it with three syllables rather than two (which is found in the more common spelling). When I introduce myself, people often say, "Wow, I've never met anyone who pronounced it that way." 8D Finally, my name is speshul! |
@ Ferra - Yeah, that'd do it. I think that its like what with a lot of people that I know. I happen to know tons of Jessica's, Mary's, and Kyle's that are around my age.
lol Nice. Thats one way to do it. Certainly can make it more appealing for you. Glad to hear that you found a way to enjoy it. ^^ |
My name is boring and hick-y.
Good news you guys. I ordered a new charger from eBay today, and I'm hoping its the right one. Its not a brand name, but its supposed to be compatible so who knows. Anyways, its supposed to be here in three to six days, so hopefully within the next week I'll be back online good as new and ready to go : ) |

Yaaay, that's great news, Seiki! :D |
@Suona: Well it's not anything I changed, since I always pronounced my name with three syllables, but no one paid attention to it I guess. XD
I find it funny that my parents claim they chose my name because it sounded "exotic" at the time. @Seiki: Awesome! |
Seiki: Yay!
Any idea when judging is going to be happening? I'm gonna be gone Friday through Sunday this weekend (and was planning on doing short judgings via smart phone). |
@ Anna - Yes! D:
Why would you want to do that? :gonk: lol @ Ferra - Well, its still good that you have come to like it more. lol I'd say that that is pretty funny. But they must have had your best interest in mind, and I dont really know the name, so I can't really say if it seems so or not. |
@Suo- Because it's a boy's name in Russia, and it's a really cute name! D: I wouldn't actually do it, though, I think I mostly thought it up to mess with my boyfriend at the time. xD
|
Cami Ill try and get onto my parents computer later to upload all the entries and junk so that the judges can do their scores but I know for sure that the next round won't be up until I can get my charger.
|
That'd be helpful, Seiki. And thanks for keeping us updated.
@ Anna - lol Here its a girl name, so it seems cruel to me. But glad to hear that you wouldn't actually do that. xP;; Do you live in Russia, then? I'm sure different areas would have different thoughts on such names. But a boy here with that name would probably get picked on. Haha. Were you guys thinking up kids names? |
Are the judgings still due today Seiki? I think... I think mine will be late. xD
Haha, nooo, I just live in America. xP I think that you'll get picked on regardless of what you're named. I have a pretty normal first name, but I got picked on for my last name. Kids are mean, they will find a way. xD Sorta~ He pretty much made me carry every converstation, and I had run out of other things to say, so I was talking about baby names. I was like: "Avelina, Giacomo, Sasha, Elize!" and he was like: "Patrick, Vincent, Lilly, Mary." >_> |
Hmm. I had never been picked on for my name. I find that kids will tend to be picked on in some way, but its best not to give them a reason to be.
Giacomo? O_o;; lol And those are some pretty generic names he came up with. I dont think i'd really know what you name kids, but I dont really want to have any. But if I did, i'd try to find nice, unique names that flowed well together. Always bugs me to hear full names that just sound like random names thrown together. |
Giacomo is Casanova's first name. xD I'd just call my kid Jack if I named him that, so why not just name him Jack? >_> I'd probably give my child a much more normal name than I'm thinking of now, since I'd be older.
I agree with you, I don't really want kids, but I'd give them cool but nice-sounding names. :3 |
Huh, didn't know that. How does Jack come from that?
Yeah, I just think that kids are a big responsibility and most people take it on too easily without realizing the consequences. I'd like to live my life with much more ease and being able to do the career that I want and having a spouse that I can give the attention he'd need, rather then having my life and everything I do revolve around children. And having the ability to go out and do things without worrying about how my kids are, or who is going to watch them. |
Well, it's pronounced Gee-ack-o-mo, so I'd just cut it down to Giac, which would be pronounced like Jacques, and most people are to lazy to say Giac, and would just turn it into Jack, so yeah. >_>
Exactly! My stepmom has four kids, and they forced her to stay with her husband for longer than she wanted to and kept her from doing a lot of things she wanted to in life. Also, her three year olds make me hate EVERYTHING sometimes. Plus, if I end up with a woman, we'd have to adopt anyways if we wanted a kid (or get a sperm donor), and that's just more hassle than it's worth, I think. |
/Pops in randomly
Whenever I hear 'Giacomo' I instantly think of Baten Kaitos. Bestgame. |
lol You have this very thought out
Do you know someone that has that name that has had that happen? Exactly. I think that its all not worth it. Kids are great and really cute and can be sweet, but they dont fit into my plans for life. I may change my mind later on, but I know that I wont purposely have them until I truly wanted them and new I could support them. I cant stand when people have kids that they just can't support. If you can't support it, then put it up for adoption. Its not fair to them. |
No, I've never heard anyone with that name besides Casanova. xD I just figure that's what would happen. People tend to call people by the first syllable of their names if it's easy to say. Like my name, people called me "Bri." I hated it, so I just went by the end part "Anna" from then on.
Yeah, I can understand wanting kids once you're already settled down in live, since kids shake things up quite a bit, and people need conflict in their lives, but I don't really ever plan on having that traditional sort of life, so kids just wouldn't make sense. Kids need more stability than I can ever potentially offer. |
Ferra, that outfit is epic X'D <3
|
@Plat: Thank you! <33
|
Let's take over the world! >D
|
Sure, but I warn you... assassins are prone to stabbing people in the back. :(
|
That's okay, I'm dead XD
|
Platty died!?
