My room was a dark purple before, but we painted it white when I got tired of it. I kept it that dark purple for five years though. It just made the room look so small.

There's a retreat up in the mountains of Colorado called Shambhala, and they've got these rooms that are each all one color, lights, ceiling, walls, floors, door, everything. They've done studies in those rooms (and I even got the pleasure of going in them myself with my middle school, twice), and they've proven the effects of those colors on humans. Yellow and green made people happy/giggly/excited, white was the most calming (it creeped me out, though. It felt like hospital to me, although that was in 8th grade when I was really fucked up), red made people angry/agitated and dark blue made people really sleepy.
So, I'd imagine your dark purple room made you sleepy, Seiki. Did it? |
