It doesn't have to be 1930s. The Nazi part would be better if you stuck to the time period for dramatic effect, but I'm not so picky about the cabaret theme.

I do have to say though, I'm more excited to see Nazi avatars than cabaret ones.. hint hint. Because in my opinion, cabaret is too easy to pull off.. so, yeah.

Cora 08-03-2010 12:44 PM

I kind of wanted to do a nazi cosplay myself.

my problem has been coming up with the research material.

Am I correct.....are we allowed to edit things for layering purposes only right?

Seiki Nova 08-03-2010 01:18 PM

You're allowed to create your own layering if you wanted to create your entries in paint or photoshop. I wouldn't stop you there. But editing, as far as removing parts of the items, or recolors wouldn't be allowed.

Kultura 08-03-2010 01:33 PM

Buh. O_O

I'm stuck this round, for sure.
I mean, I know about the Nazis and their rise to power and everything *history geek* but... I have no idea. :(

Cora 08-03-2010 02:24 PM

I just wanted the arm puffs to layer over the one jacket and they don't. I may or may not choose to do this, but I wanted to make sure I could if I wanted to.

THis is my attempt at a 1932 nazi uniform. According to my research (which was a thrill to find let me tell you) they where all black.

I am going to probably edit red armbands over the coat.

Keyori 08-03-2010 03:04 PM

*makes a note to have Cora photoshop her entry too if needed* :ninja:

Kultura 08-03-2010 03:17 PM

Cora, I like your current, whatever top you have on makes it look like armbands.

Keyori 08-03-2010 03:41 PM

I wonder if I could pull off a nazi-themed cabaret girl >3>;;

Kultura 08-03-2010 03:42 PM

That's a cool idea xD

----------

Playing around atm... Based on this...
(eyes and hair based on the "Aryan race")

And then another idea I'm playing with,
http://i35.tinypic.com/ojnmgk.jpg
Done in grey, white and black so that it's almost like an old photograph...?

D:

Was tempted to use one of the Head! items, but thought that might be a little inappropriate...

Keyori 08-03-2010 04:28 PM

Proper hair now.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20...eamAvatar3.png

Also, I detest buying guys clothes :gonk:

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20...eamAvatar4.png http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20...eamAvatar5.png http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20...eamAvatar6.png

But I think the uniform looks much better...

----------

Kultura: Instead of the chest strap, try maybe one of the wing straps? It'll look closer to the picture anyway.

Iro 08-03-2010 04:45 PM

I like the male uniforms! Especially the second and last one. But I may be bias. xD

Seiki Nova 08-03-2010 04:50 PM

I do have to say that the male avatars will have the upper hand with the Nazi challenge. They have items that are better suited to the overall Nazi "look".

Keyori 08-03-2010 04:51 PM

I'm working on a nazi cabaret girl right now >3>;;

Seiki Nova 08-03-2010 04:53 PM

iTired. sleep nao? : (

Keyori 08-03-2010 05:17 PM

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y20...eamAvatar7.png

*sigh* I'm really just not happy with anything I'm pumping out :gonk:

Divine_lil_brat 08-03-2010 07:22 PM

Another question. Are we allowed to use anything Nazi based during that time frame that goes with the theme? Also thanks for answering the first question lol XD

Suona 08-03-2010 08:55 PM

I'm so jealous of you people with access to the menewsha avi creator *dies a little inside* T^T

Keyori 08-03-2010 08:58 PM

I paid good money for DAC access :talk2hand:

I wouldn't have entered without it. I'm too broke and my inventory is too small to get half the outfits I've made so far. I can only imagine how awful I'd be doing if I was spending on stuff I didn't need :gonk:

Suona 08-03-2010 09:03 PM

So you had to pay to be able to use it?
I think someone said it was only given to those that had bought CI's, so that'd stand true. :/

Keyori 08-03-2010 09:06 PM

Yes, it's only available to users who have donated. If you donate this month, you can get access, but it tends to lag by a couple of days.

And, as far as I can tell, you don't have to keep donating every month to keep access, so that's pretty sweet since I don't have moneys right now >3>;;

I'm currently indebted to my fiance, who paid my share of utilities and internet this month. I have to pay him back once my loans roll in.

And then I can buy CI's again! YAYYYYY!

Suona 08-03-2010 09:18 PM

Eh, I dont have the money to pay, so thats a no go.
I'll just deal with not having it. As much of a bummer as that is.

Keyori 08-03-2010 09:19 PM

Obviously this means you should have a bake sale ;D

Cami 08-03-2010 09:41 PM

Suona: You can't even afford 2.50 for one CI?

It's clearly you get to use it if you have ever in your life bought a CI, because I have access and I haven't donated in like two years.

Keyori 08-03-2010 09:42 PM

Apparently some of the donators from before such and such software switch aren't included, unless they've donated since the switch.

But I wasn't around then, so, yeah, I'm not keen on all the details about what CK was talking about when she told me.

Facade 08-03-2010 10:20 PM

I think 2008 was the year of the software switch... When we got the nifty new front page, awesome new forum software, etc., etc. :D Including the current inventory system with the drawers and whatnot, if I remember correctly...

Of course, I could be wrong. But regardless, I didn't donate until late into 2009, so... Ha!
