I don't think we have a choice as to whether commercials should exist or not. It's a necessary part of television (sigh). All these sponsorship things, all for money's sake. It's not even money for us.
I love watching commercials from all over the world! It's exciting to see what's in fashion in one country, or what things they go gaga over. It's also interesting to see the kind of culture they have. I remembered seeing this one commercial, something to do with a wedding. It showed everything from the courtship, the church wedding until the groom carried the bride for the honeymoon. "I'll just go potty," says the bride and when the groom peeks in, he sees the bride peeing standing up (lols). I don't think we can have one of those kinds of commercials in my place. |
I love watching those commercial specials that they play on tbs sometimes, you get to see some commercials from all over the world. Some of them are great and some are lame.
I can't stand those enzyte commercial for male enhancement. That shamwow guy looks a little to creepy for me. |
I love the HD adverts, here in the UK, where they have tonnes of coloured bouncy balls bouncing down a relatively steep street ... I think they did a version of that in fruit too and with a bunch of exploding paints. :P
But generally, if it isn't colourful, I get bored of adverts. xD |
Since seeing that about the ShamWow guy, his Slap Chop commercial makes me laugh.

I usually don't even pay attention to the commercials because they irritate me after awhile. Since really, I just want to watch the program on TV not some commercial that keeps repeating over and over again.

Commercials are fine if I'm just channel surfing, or they're actually funny.
My top three all time favourites: 1) Sonic - The two guys are sitting at the drive-threw talking about the dollar menu. The one on the left mentions how he brought his girlfriend there and she bought food only from the dollar menu. He roughly says this, "So I told her, 'You're a cheap date!' and she was like, 'Excuse me?' and I said 'I'm sorry', I'm thinking she's hard of hearing, so I said 'You're a cheap date!'" 2) Tide Talking Stain - The man's sitting in an interview for a job, and has a massive stain on his shirt. While he's trying to talk the stain starts blabbing and making weird noises, which draws the interviewer's attention. The stain progressively gets louder, and the interviewer hears nothing of what the guy said. 3) Male Enhancement Pills - A male and female are sitting in silence, and the man looks over to the girl and calls her name. It comes up on the screen saying "Intermission", then goes back to them sitting there smiling, returning to reading the paper. I die laughing watching all of these, no matter how many times they are played. |
i really don't like commercials.
they get annoying when i am trying to watch tv. but i do like them when they are funny. and i do like the new pops commercial where its supposed to be a old video. |
It all depends on the timing.
Say, I'm watching an interesting show, and or movie, and it gets a to good part. Nice a suspenseful. Then, all of a sudden, BOOM! Infomercial. o< It's quite annoying I have to say. But, there are other times when I want to watch what's on the television, and yet I don't want to get up because it's getting good as well, So, the infomercials help so I don't have to miss any parts. >_> |
-i love the hulu commercial with eliza dushku in it. the one where she sticks her tongue down into the bottle....haha, gets me everytime. =)
-the commercial where the mentally disabled kids are running a race and one of them falls and they all turn back to help him up and they win the race together. makes me tear up. *sniffle* i'm sure there are more, i just can't think of them. |
2 commercials that disturb me are: the one with ex presidential candidate Bob Dole talking about erectile dysfunction and the quiznos commercial that was on for a while that had scary singing hamster things in piratey costumes, game me genetically altered hamster nightmares.

Anyone talking about erectile dysfunction is disturbing. And I kinda liked the Quiznos hamsters. I may try to find that commercial later.

I hate most comercials but a few I like.
I hate male emhansment commericals, and diet pills! They drive me crazy. I'm like "It's on Lifetiime and it's 11 pm! Why is their male enhansement on?!" Plus the diet pill commericails annoy me. The people generally look fine before. In the before picture it's always a bad picture, in bad clothes and they are sad or not happy. The after picture is always in flattering clothing, in a studio or a professtional picture and they are happy. Of course the after will look better!! On the other hand my favorite commerical is a recient baskin robbins commerical is funny and a bit innaproriate. The big punchline for the commerical is "Don't be so Vanilla!" It makes me laugh so hard. |
Ugh. There's this new commercial where I live for a local furniture and carpet store. The owner's wife is in the commercial for some reason, and I CAN'T UNDERSTAND A WORD SHE SAYS! It's annoying. I turn the volume up really loud every time to see if I can make it out, but I never can.

Local commercials are sometimes gold mines of ridiculousness. :lol: Every now and then you'll get one that is well executed. But, i've found, for the most part they're so poorly acted and so over the top that it's amusing. ;B

Oh, yeah. We get a lot of the majorly cheesy commercials from the local used car companies. The only well-executed one I can think of is for Grace Health Care, nice singing in that one.

I really like the new commercials for some snazzy phone with Ozzy in them.
"My last assistant had some hearing problems..." -Insert scene of Ozzy mumbling incoherently- The new Quizno's commercials I find gross, though. I mean... you're advertising sandwiches with a horny oven? DDD: And the commercials for that eco-friendly car. With the dancing people, in flower costumes, to make a little scenery type thing. I find those utterly disturbing and freaky and I hate them. D: But I saw a commercial the other day, for... I don't even know what it was, but it was some sort of catheter replacement. The acting was so bad I nearly died laughing, and then one of the guys said he didn't want to use a catheter because of the risk of infection. Someone is trying to shove a tube up your urethra, and your main concern is infection? That just killed me. |
well there are a lot of nice commercials and funny ones too
tho yeah they are annoying when they are being aired over and over and over and over again. Plus i hate the fact that commercial runs more than the tv series (well that is here i dunno bout other place) there are ugly and annoying at first see commercials too |

I have a new favorite. I don't know what the commercial is for, but there's a man standing outside a building with his daughter, who's in her cheerleader outfit. He's practicing one of her cheers with her. It's really cute.

My favorite commercials are the Verizon Wireless one with the ice cream, the Progressive commercials with that person named Flo, and the ones with the baby about that stock market website. |

I've been really interested in a lot of different commercials lately. The effectiveness of advertising fascinates me, and I'm not even going into business.
