"Hey, what are you doing there!? D; OFF!"

First off, I apologize if this is considered a repeat thread. I know there's a pet thread floating around here...but I'm hoping that a more specific discussion won't get me slapped with the warning fish? :sweat:

Anyway...hi there! This is my first attempt at...a pet discussion. How original. But see, it as inspired by something that happened to me a moment ago as I was posting my last thread. And at that - look out, it is storytime!

See, as I was working on that post, I was also making myself a cup of coffee. I have a very basic type of coffee maker - it's basically a plastic cone with a hole in the bottom; you put a filter and coffee grounds in, pour boiling water over it, and you have coffee. I went in the kitchen when the tea kettle boiled...and as soon as I got into the kitchen, I started hearing this loud beeping coming from the computer. I turned around...and my cat was curling up to sleep on the keyboard! :illgetu:

I shooed him off, but he'd already posted my thread for me...when it was half finished. XD

Well, when I calmed down from that annoyance, I realized...a lot of us have pets, right? So a lot of us probably have stories about them sleeping/climbing/walking/whatever on things they shouldn't be messing with, right? Especially with computers - many ways for an animal to mess something up there. XD

Well, I do love a good mischievous pet story. So go right ahead and share yours. I'd like to hear it. ;p

Once my (fearful) cat got freaked and we made fun of her...so she like attacked. And stayed pissed all day. I find it hilarious.

I let my chinchillas run around on my bed sometimes when they're clean, and I'll pull up AIM or yahoo instant messenger and have them jump on my computer and type to my friends XDD

Sforzando 09-03-2008 11:12 PM

My cat sleeps in the sink. And this morning he pooped on the pants I was going to wear to school. That little jerk.

My dog is a pansy. He was barking, so my brother stomped his foot at him and he peed on the floor.

icandiee 09-04-2008 12:21 AM

Well today, when I had apple crisp on my plate on the computer desk.
I push in the computer chair, so my dog wouldn't be able to go and get it, while I brought my other dog outside.
And then when all of a sudden I hear a beeping noise and sadly my apple crisp was almost finished for me D;
It was good apple crisp too.
This dog is always the one who likes to eat my food D;
One time I left it on this green stool and I guess it was too close to the couch, so he jumped up on the couch and leaned over and ate my spaghetti.
And then one time, I was on my bed and I was eating that cheese whiz cracker stuff xD
And I had a bed sheet package and stuff, and it was big rite? cuz of the blanket.
And I go up and go get something and then when I come back, my last bit of cheese is gone, and I noticed that the red stick is gone too, so I don't worry about it until he comes by my bed and takes it, so I run after him and he goes into the bathroom, so do I, and then he just letted go of it and then went onto my bed and took off half of my cheese on the cracker D;
Such a naughty Pomerainian, while my Malti- Poo is a good girl, that gets hurt easily. xD

@ iCandee. I dont have a dog that steals my food, well actually he'd steal it if I let him, but I was eating a piece of candy in science when I licked it and held it out of my mouth so I could talk when this jerk came by, stole it and ate it.

I don't often have computer/cat mishaps, but i remember on one occasion, i was playing Chopper Challenge, all set for a personal best, and then the cat walks over the keyboard, and made me crash. I wasn't best impressed.

kyoshiana 09-04-2008 08:51 AM

I don't usually have computer mishaps with my pets because I have a slightly overweight shitzu ... xD... so she can't reach the computer... but she sleeps on my bed with me and every night without fail she always ends up trying to lay down where I'm about to lay down so I have to move her and she gets a little huffy and takes up my leg space instead after I've laid down -_- ...

icandiee 09-05-2008 12:40 AM

@Lt. Summers- Oh my, are you serious?!
The kid took it off your mouth and ate it?!
That's gross! xDD
My dogs are spoiled and they pretty much jump up anywhere they can.
They can be very sneaky, I mean one time when my mom and my brother and I went to the mall, I guess we forgot to push in the kitchen table chair and my malti-poo was able to jump still because it was before her surgery and we had like a piece of salmon left in the bowl and she jumped up I guess and onto the table and ate it, because after when we came home we found the piece gone and I smelled her mouth and it smelled like salmon, i'm pretty sure my pomerainian had some too, even though he couldn't jump up yet, and it smelled a bit fishy too, so i'm guessing she shared with him. xDD

For some reason, my cat likes to sleep in the bathtub. xD
So you'll go in there innocently, suspecting nothing, because if he's not there he's under a bed. All of a sudden he'll leap out of there and scare you to death, or he'll roll over and made scratching sounds, or he'll let out this long merowling sound that is just awful. He's half Siamese so if you've ever heard those talk you'll know the ghostly sound that is. xD My sister always goes in there and suddenly she'll yell "SYDNEY!?!?" because he tackled her as she went around the corner. He must think it's fun, and it's not fun when he sits there and peeks over the edge of the tub at you. xDDD

I often had the kittyOnTheComputer situation. XD

We had... a numerous amount of cats back home, and they all liked to climb where they weren't allowed. At any one point during the day you could walk into our kitchen and see a cat on the dining table, the stove, the counter, the fridge, and above the cuboards.

We always had to keep a squirt bottle handy to shoot 'em down from the TV (It was like the video game duckhunt, but with sniffy cats, and the dog didn't giggle at us, just whined when she got sprayed by accedent).

Alot of the time one of the cats, either the one we'ed call Grampa or the one called Papa, would be found sleeping on my old laptop, which was always slightly warm when it was closed. The goof balls.

My doggy, a female Cocker Spaniel my mom named Penny, died a few months ago. But when she was alive, she was hilarious.

Whenever I did something weird, she would lift one side of her upper lip and fold it under, making so that some of her teeth showed. Then she would wrinkle her nose and tilt her head to the side. I loved that pose... it was a "WTF are you doing?!" face.

Since I spend so much time on the computer, her favorite seat would be on top of the desk, next to the monitor. She would just sleep there as long as I was there.

Whenever we were eating at the kitchen table, she would whine like other dogs to give her food. And we usually did, but when we wouldn't she would become so frustrated she would start barking at us, and when we turned her way she would give us a full blast of puppy eyes.

She always got what she wanted. XD

Haha, my cat constantly types kittie code. Sometimes, he'll even crawl in my lap and just.. flop onto the keyboard and I'm all "get off kitteh!". >.>
And my other cat likes pawing at the screen when I'm talking to certain people. -.- it's madness I tell you!

Burnt Biscuits 09-05-2008 06:08 PM

I have two cats... one of them likes to lay on the monitor and drape his tail across the screen, and when he thinks he isn't being enough of an interference, he gets down and lays across my hands as I type. The other cat walks across my hands and the keyboard, just pacing, her tail in my face. e_e

So I scoop them up and cuddle them before shoeing them down the hall.

Haha i have a Kitten name Ryu,... forgot whether it means tiger or dragon :)

So basically as I'm sat at the computer hell come and jump up and pur so loud its deafening,... Hell either come and plant his butt right on the mouse which happens to be where my hand is,... or hell sit and stare at the screen and chase the mouse across the screen with his paws o.o

Another thing when he gets hyper,... he sort of bounces off the walls? He runs around like hes got a rocket up his butt,.. and when he sees meat or food of any kind its another deafening MEOOOOOW and he practically chaces you around the house till he gets some,...

Cute little kitty but he does get on my nerves when he begs for food x3

Uzura 09-06-2008 03:59 PM

When my cat Shelby was just a kitten, he loved walking across the keyboard while I was on the computer. Basically anything that took my attention away from him, he had to find away by bring it back. And every time he jumped on my keyboard, it made a loud beeping noise and either close everything I was working on or open up a ton of pages that I couldn't close. This cat obviously knows way more about computers than I do xP

One of my families cats, Grace, loves to be all ninja "I am the neeja you don't see me" cat on my dad... especially during guild raids in World of Warcraft. XD Her favorite approach is to jump up onto his desk, then slink around his monitor and across his keyboard, all the while with the "I think I'll just take a nice stroll here- Oh! When did you get there? Why, yes! I would love to be pet~! *stands between him and the computer screen*" attitude.

One of Grace's more... erm, memorable computer screw ups was when she walked across the "OFF" switch on the power brick for my dad's computer. Yeah. Dad wasn't too thrilled. XD She also managed to knock our back up server off it's precarious stand on one occasion (*COUGHontopofanothercomputerCOUGH*), frying the whole thing. XD

Grace will also sit right at the back of my chair, taking up a good half of it so I have to sit on the veeeery front edge of the chair. D;

My uncle used to have a pet goose who used to round up sheep, well, try to round up sheep on his farm. until the poor thing got knocked out by a rebel sheep and got pooped on by a cow who was grazing in the paddock. after that it lived out its life as a spectator by the fence as it watched I cattle dog show it how it was done.

Aeisha 09-09-2008 09:40 AM

My dog is a huge fan of car rides, and honestly what dog isn't. Anyway I am also a big fan of reading in the car however my dog doesn't like it when I read in the car and often she will plant her head down on the pages or her bum or any other body part. Other times she will jump up on me and just start licking my face.

She also sits just within eyes site when I am on the computer and begs for food. When I ignore her for a while she either moans very loudly, barks or licks my leg. Then when I look at her she is sitting down and wagging her tail and generally acting like she did absolutely nothing to get my attention.

Sometimes when I'm reading a book, my cat Tux will jump up onto my lap and sit on my book. Though if I pet him, he goes away. He just wants to be more important then the book XD

Tux also jumps onto my computer desk and walk across the monitor. He doesn't touch the keyboard but blocks my view of what I'm typing.

Tsukihami 09-09-2008 06:32 PM

The dog likes sitting on the top part of the desk, above my head.
And then realizing he's scared of heights and then does nothing but sit there and cry until I lift him down.
And he still goes back for more.

xghostlyx_xgirlx 09-10-2008 05:01 AM

we have a golf cart we ride and use to move things around the yard. for some reason my dog freddy think if the golf cartis moving he sould be on it and it he's not the hole time he barks at who ever is driving it.

he is also known for taking earbuds out of my ears if i deside to listen to my i-pod around him.

hie also will jump up into the air and land on his front paws, doing a kind of handstand when he sees food.

Amo_Angelus 09-10-2008 05:20 AM

I have a computer desk with a pull out keyboard tray and wireless keyboard, so I just tuck the tray in when I leave in the middle of something, and since my cat likes climbing on the desk the keyboard rarely rests on the desk while I'm on it and he's in the room.

The most amusing thing mitzy does is nearly knock himself out on my fridge. He likes to attack the reflection from my watch and lunges straight into the fridge door...head first...

Sho-Shonojo 09-10-2008 06:51 PM

My cat is always lying down on my stuff. When I have art homework I have to keep a piece of cardboard laid on top of it so that she doesn't mess it up. Better not leave clean clothes out either, because she will lay on those the second you put them down. She also likes to stick her feet and head into new shoes or ones she's never smelled before.

I usually let my dog sit on my couch but he's not allowed on the one in the family room. We were eating dinner one time and the room is set up so that the end of the table where my dad sits is facing the back of the couch. Well we were eating and the dog jumped up onto the couch and was looking over the back of at us. Our dad couldn't see him (and he hates it when the dog is on the couch) So we were motioning for him to get down. Our dad finally turned around because he didn't know what was going on and the dog ducked just in time. It was so funny. Of course, then our dad got up to look and the dog had to get down.
