That Sinking Moment of Dawning Realization...

It was raining when I left for school this morning, so obviously I took an umbrella. It was completely wet when I went to my locker, so rather than put it inside the locker and get my books all wet, I put it on top of the lockers. I've done this every time I've had a soggy umbrella during my six years at this school.

It was also absolutely pouring with rain when school finished today, and so I ran to my locker to put books away/shove some in my bag etc.
I reached up to the top of the lockers where I had left my umbrella... and my hand was grasping at nothing. -cue That Sinking Moment of Dawning Realization-

Someone had taken my umbrella and buggered off with it!

Needless to say, I arrived home soaked, dripping angrily onto the doormat.

I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you, though I have this feeling that you should be grateful it was just an umbrella that had been taken. I had a simular experiance where I had left my bag on top of the lockers, when I went back it was gone ... all my books and homework was in that bag.

But it sucks that happened to you, I hate when it rains and you don't have access to a umbrella.

I make a cause out of keeping a hand on my umbrella at all times. People that use our area of the college, are generally quite honest, so i don't think they would steal off with something normally. But then, if it was raining like it was today, i can see why they might be tempted.
I always keep a plastic bag in my bag, or locker, so that i can avoid getting my books wet, and still keep my brolly with me.

Wow.
That's too bad.
I've been lucky, no one ever wanted to steal my umbrellas...probably because they're old and hard to figure out.
I did have to walk home in a downpour before...and it's not that much fun at all. Especially when it's cold rain and windy outside. I had to take a hot shower once I got home.
Next time...I'd suggest you put the umbrella in your locker to avoid a theft.
Though...perhaps a janitor saw it and absconded with it because he didn't want someone to steal it. Or someone turned it in to Lost and Found. I'd check there next time you go to school.

Wow that really sucks T^T I don't trust anyone so I would have dried it off as best as I could and stuck it in my locker >: I hope it wasn't worth too much and you can get another one<3 The person who stole it will pay for what they did D<

I've had that sinking feeling many times, like when I thought an assignment was due a day later than it really was, but I haven't had it bad in a while so progress is being made XD

Aww~ u -u
That's very sad. Stupid umbrella thieves~! Go buy your own umbrellas you silly criminals. Lolol. I had my umbrella stolen too the other day and needless to say I was not very happy TT_TT

Blasted umbrella theives!
Man..that's a bummer cause I too have lost an umbrella during a rainy day, worst part was being yelled at by my parents afterwards. v.v

Aw.
Who steals an umbrella? Who steals anything, for that matter?
I thought that a similar thing had happened to me when I set my purse down, just for a second, to put on my jacket. It turned out some good Samaritan thought it was forgotten and turned it into the lost and found. ^ ^;
I hope the same is the case for your umbrella.

One day I'll figure out why people insist on using umberellas. It's just a bit of water, and pretty much everyone with an umberella seems intent on gouging out peoples eyes as they take up the entire pavement...

I just started my new school and I've had that horrible realization a lot recently. It's a horrible feeling.

Tsukihami 09-08-2008 06:14 AM

This has actually never happened to me.
Most probably because I'm insane and love nothing more than running around in rain, preferably in summer clothes.
...And then getting a cold and almost freezing, of course, but it's fun while it lasts.
(Actually, I'm not sure if I even own an umbrella at all...? Or even a coat xD)

Because some *cough* people don't like to get his/her books wet. The day I forgot to bring an umbrella to the Conservatory, a shower-like rain made my drawings and partitures get wet :'( I made a puddle in the classy hall just with the water dripping from my hair xD

PS: People who seem to try to impale your eyes with their umbrellas are just meeeaaan~ xP

Wow that sucks. It also sounds like my kind of luck.
