Aww man 1 more episode until the season is over. Kinda sucks that we have to wait a week for them to show the last episode.
I hope season 4 shows more Eric. :3 I love him<3
But then we have to wait forevers again, for that season to come out. I was dying with the waiting for season 3.
And season 3 went by so fast...along with my vacation T_T
All I can hope for is that the next season will be worth the wait.~

.ieatkitties. 09-14-2010 12:51 AM

This thread should never die. ;00

Watched the season finale last night, was soo disappointed. First of all Sookie has progressed into a complete idiot this season, and it's starting to make me doubt Anna's acting abilities. Also I've read the books so I know that Bill is supposed to not be in the picture forever, but I really hated what they did to his character last night.

Also unrelated to this episode but, I love Russel's character. :]

Ignis 09-14-2010 04:41 AM

I know, True blood is the shizz!~

Hmm The only thing that made me "lol" was when Bill said "you're as mad as a f***ing hatter!" to Russell xD
But yes, I got so pissed off at Bill for what he tried to do to Eric. I was just like HELLZ NO!
I also agree that Sookie is getting really annoying ish and becoming more idiotic. Russell's skin was so GROSS but AWESOME at the same time, so good job on that. I loved when Eric was covered in cement though, very sexy :3 (in my opinion)
hmm. Now I have to wait next freaking year for the 4th season T_T

Estrella 09-14-2010 05:40 AM

I just watched the finale as well.

Hopefully no one pops in and get an eyefull of spoilers.

I wasn't all that disappointed with it. I mean, they made Bill way worse than he was in the books but apparently this version of Sookie needed a serious, serious wake-up call to end it with Bill. But at least they are trying to keep with the books about how it did eventually end and she started in on new relationships.

Also, I agree, Eric in cement was hot. Eric in anything is hot. I adore him.

I think the part that made me lol was with Jesus and Lala. Good stuff, those two.

Marguerite Blakeney 09-14-2010 05:54 AM

I don't normally watch True Blood. I haven't since Season 1. Kinda watched Season 2 but didn't really pay attention to it.

But I was thinkin' of Lafayette earlier and the AIDS Burger scene.

Still wish he was my best friend.

Wynna 09-16-2010 01:45 AM

Just finished watching the season finale. I was a little dissappointed by it, but I can't wait to see season 4! I wish that they just finished off Russell...because knowing him he will come back. I hope that Sophie-Anne doesn't get knocked off either, because I do enjoy her character. Maybe Bill will die? *hopes*

Jezriel 09-16-2010 05:10 AM

I'm really behind the times. I saw the first episode and part of like episode four or five?? And hated how different it was from the books. Not that I minded the casting, I thought that was pretty well done.

But I straight-out avoided the tv series after that. Since I personally don't have cable tv, that's pretty easy.
Although I hear that starting in season 2 they realized the 'error of their ways' and eased off the sex pedal a little bit.

Just for the record - from those who've read the books - is the tv series still off in lala land, or is it a close enough representation of the books that I won't get mad?
I want the dry Southern humor, not broody bloody sex - you can get that an any supernatural romance novel free at the public library after all.

If I hear good things, I may try to look it up again. If what I hear saddens me, I'll be thankful for the warning and steer clear. I can always re-read the books and imagine.

Sizzla 09-16-2010 03:13 PM

I'll come back to discuss the finale when I have more time, but just a note or two for you Jez...

The show veers even further from the books as time goes on, and I've come to accept them as two totally different things. I wouldn't bother watching the show if you're not interested in broody, bloody sex, because well, it's still quite rampant.

I happen to enjoy both the books and the series, and while I do wish Alan Ball had stuck closer to the books, I like a lot of the things he's introduced into the show. Keeping Lafayette around, as well as introducing Jessica, have been great moves in my book. Though yeah, next season, I have no idea where they're going to go with it. They've introduced things that should have been further down the line in the storyline... So who knows how next season is going to end up.

All I want to see is Eric with amnesia. XD

Jezriel 09-16-2010 03:20 PM

Mmmkay. Well I'll keep that in mind. Kind of like FMA the anime vs the manga then.

And yea, Eric with amnesia would be worth watching regardless. XD

Wynna 09-16-2010 08:41 PM

Jezriel: I find that in order to enjoy the television series, you almost have to think of the books and the show as entirely seperate univerises.

Ignis 09-17-2010 12:55 AM

I agree with Sizzla on everything ^_^~
I also REALLY want to see more ERIC-ness. In all of his splender.
o_o'' I've talked about True blood around my brother, and he always says "i'm totally going to start watching that show"
I get super excited, and ALMOST spoil things. But Instead I put him in front of the back door of my house, then I go outside and close the door, You can't hear anything on the other side. SO i just start talking to him, and look at him through the window , so i pretend like i'm actually spilling the beans V_V it's better than actually tell him. (because he doesn't want me to tell him.) I just want him to hurry up and watch it, so we can TALK about it :D

Estrella 09-17-2010 01:46 AM

I think it was Sizzla who told me to look at the TV series as a separate universe.
And it helped and I LOVE Jessica and Lafayette. A lot.
I think the TV series is a little more hardcore than the book series but meh.

I think, though, that I would not forgive them if we didn't get amnesia Eric. ;(

Wynna 09-17-2010 03:18 AM

Next season they have to do amnesia Eric. I'm glad that they are bringing in the witches with Jesus being a Brujo ( I think that is how you spell it). I hope Jessica kills Hoyt's Mom...I hate her. I did like her character, but she is just a bigot.

Ignis 09-17-2010 04:05 AM

Oh my freakin' gosh! if they make us wait longer for the Eric-ness and use that time for Alcide -time (i like him too, but I want ERIC!) then i will be SUPER pissed. Because it's like they skipped Eric. Or something...
I hate waiting for it!
Yes. I hope they make the witches awesome :3 Hoyt's mom is so ...GRRRRR! Something must be done about her. I don't know what.

Estrella 09-17-2010 06:02 AM

I love Alcide. The actor is just my type. <3
Rugged facial hair.

Though, Eric is still super hot, too. xD

Sizzla 09-17-2010 02:55 PM

Oh yeah, amnesia Eric totally has to happen! I don't think Alan Ball could resist doing it, especially with the amount of Ericfangirlness there is out there. XD

Alcide is attractive, sure, but I just can't get excited about weres/shifters... I just don't care about the entire were/shifter storyline really. I never much liked it in the books either.

Anyways, thoughts on the finale:

SPOILERX

• Russell was great, once again! Crispyfried Russell and snarky Sookie (even though she was totally out of character in that scene), was fantastic. XD I know they're going to bring him back at some point -- they left that wayyy too open for it not to happen later on down the line. And again, the storyline for Russell is sooooo vastly different from the books that I'm not even going to try to imagine what they're going to do with him...

• I'm glad Bill was shown to be the conniving bastard that he is. FINALLY. I was going to be so pissed if Ball would have made Sookie forgive him and them get back together. It would just be WRONG. The scene with Bill, Eric and Sook on the porch with Eric looking all concretey -- fantastic. XD

I can't believe Bill pushed Eric into the concrete!!!! When that happened, my jaw literally dropped and my eyes bugged out. But I knew he wouldn't die -- it was only 2/3 of the way through the episode at that point, so he had to come back. No way they're killing off Alexander Skarsgaard's character. He's too popular with the viewership.

• Jessica & Hoyt = Though I didn't like the creepy foreshadowing with Mama Fortenberry buying a gun, and then flashing to the scene of Jess/Hoyt making out in their new house, with the creepy doll in the foreground. I have a feeling Jessica's gonna kill his mom next season.

• Lafayette & Jesus: I knew there was going to be something up with Jesus, and I find it interesting that he ended up being a witch. I'm excited to see him and Lafayette explore their powers next season. Lafayette's got a lot to learn, from the looks of it.

• Sam and fam: Sam's storyline is really weird to me now. All this anger is so out of character for him. I mean, I guess we were warned that he wasn't always nice, peaceful Sam. But I don't think he'd shoot his brother over the money. My guess is he shot him in the leg or something, so that he couldn't get away with his savings.

• Jason and Hotshot: I. Just. Don't. Care. At. All.

• CHEESETASTIC FAIRYLAND FAIL. I hate hate hate the way they're doing the fairy stuff. It's soooo lame. I'm still waiting to see Claude though... I guess we'll see if that gets any better next season. But if this season's brief forays into fairyland are any indication of how it's going to be, I hate it already. :/

So yeah, brief wrap up and thoughts... It wasn't as epic a finale as I was expecting. :(

Estrella 09-17-2010 04:19 PM

I thought the scene with Eric and Bill was totally going to bring us to an amnesia Eric, though a different way. xP But I was wrong. Also, when did Pam ever taste Sookie's blood? I don't remember that. :?

I agree that the scene with Russel and Sook was completely out of character for Sook. She was basically bat shit. x__X;
But I guess we could blame it on all the vampire blood she had recently? I don't know, that's one thing that I was like HUH?

And I think my jaw dropped at the Same scene but I'm suspecting he aimed for a leg too.

The Hotshot scene had my draw dropping too. There was like no "I'll do it, I swear I will!" that you expect when a family member is pointing a gun at another.

But yeah, maybe the fairy thing will pick up next season. They're making her a lot stronger of a fairy than she was in the books and so far I don't like what they're doing.

I don't remember that either. Maybe Bill just wanted her gone, because she was Eric's progeny and knew of his plan with Sookie?

Estrella 09-18-2010 03:57 AM

That was my theory but Sookie didn't say anything like "Um, Pam's never had my blood.." or even look shocked.
I don't know, maybe someone else will remember when that happened.

Wynna 09-18-2010 02:52 PM

Ya. I just hope the Queen tears Bill to shreds...it won't happen, but I just hate him. And Moyer's acting was really bad this past episode, that or Bill was just really out of character.

Ignis 09-18-2010 04:01 PM

I don't think it was only a matter of whoever tasted sookie's blood.
Bill also said he would rid anyone (i'm guessing vampires) who knew she was Fairy.
So ..Pam probably knew because Eric told her? Or something. :p Also, since he was try to kill Eric,
(DARN YOU BILL!) he wouldn't want Pam trying to get her revenge o-o'' if he didn't also try to get rid of her.

Estrella 09-18-2010 04:07 PM

Oooh, that's right. He did say that he'd kill anyone who knew what she was.
He's crazy and Sookie in the books would have hated him for that.
She had a hard time getting over Bill killing her uncle in the books.

Ignis 09-18-2010 04:14 PM

Yeah Bill is selfish, he only wants her for himself. If she could read his mind i bet it would be like,
"Sookie's Fairy blood is so good, I don't want anyone else drinking MY supply of this rare blood!"
What a jerk face.
Oh yeah! Bill did kill her uncle. I mean her uncle was a gross perv. But that was years ago, he hasn't bothered her since, and Bill killed him, because she told him about it, THINKING she could trust him after telling him such a secret. BUT Nooooo~
Geez Bill...

Estrella 09-18-2010 04:23 PM

I think that everything in the series has been amped up in comparison to the books. Sookie's ability to forgive especially because of how much she lets Bill gets away with. I mean, look at what it took for her to hate him in the series versus what it took for it to end in the books? xP That, and then the way Sookie acts is totally bonkers.

I think that's exactly what Bill's mind would be saying. I think in the books he sincerely loved Sookie but I don't believe that for the series at all. He had ulterior motives in both to pursue her but...

Ignis 09-18-2010 04:52 PM

Yeah I love both the series and the books.
YES! My brother is watching it now. He Loves it! hah he is already in season 3 and he only started watching it a couple days ago O_O'' He loves Jason because Jason is so funny and stupid.
Sookie really loved him, I understand that. So it was SO heartbreaking when she realized his scum-bagness.
Bill is just a fool. But it must be done :p
After that, I loved how Eric was like "It really saddens me to see you in pain."
aww, he cares!~
