The CG was the best part!
Which events? xD Even though it was cliche and such, it was executed really well! With the CG.... and one really did get immersed into Pandora! |
To be honest, a lot of my issues with the movie had to do with the main character. Too much the jock, no brains and all brawn. I'm kinda disappointed that he switched sides not because he changed or learned anything, but because he fell in love with Neytiri. It came off more as him wanting to keep a fully functional body and his hot girlfriend than his trying to defend a wronged people. It was also very much a "one white guy saves the whole world" thing, which I twitched at, and the whole deal about being chosen by Eywa just made me want to hit something. I couldn't see any character growth that I could point to as being proof that he deserved anything he got in the end; it was all romantic development. Also, I could predict what would happen next throughout the whole movie, and not a single one of my predictions was proven wrong. =__=" Plus, Trudy didn't have to die. The CEO guy probably should have but didn't. The concept was good, but the execution needs a lot of polishing.
I liked the fact that the last blow in the final battle was delivered by Neytiri though. I mean, if you're going to do supremacy of paganism, you'd damn well better do it right. :lol: Wow, my long rant. :stare: But yeah, the CG art was beautiful and realistic. No wonder it cost so much to make. XD" |

True, it was predictable, but he went from a "follower" jarhead to a leader. And there aren't always pure or selfless reasons for rebellion. The death of Trudy I frowned at. And the CEO dude should have been more severely punished besides two scenes of guilty faces. The execution of the idea may have been flawed, but the execution of the effects and acting and stuff? Perfect.

Not so much the reason for rebellion, but what I mean is that I feel like he didn't earn any of the respect or rewards he received in the end. My friend was like, "He didn't deserve that body. It would have been a good twist if he didn't wake up at the end." My answer was, "No, that would have completely wasted the movie for me. If he hadn't woken up, he wouldn't have had to take responsibility for being an idiot in the first place. This way, he gets to fix the damage he allowed to happen." But yes, the acting was good. =3
