I agree with you guys 100%!! <3
I'm always saying that to people. Haha. I think that if you're living in another country, then you should make the effort to learn the language! It is soo rude to not even try or anything. And I am getting increasingly more pissed off by the day, in how almost everything is spanish and english here now. :< I think that its not making them have any reason to learn English, because why should they when they can read all the stuff in spanish, or make someone at the store that speaks spanish help them. I find it so frustrating. I mean, yeah its nice to have some things or people that speak spanish in order to help any that are strugling in learning it well, but its completely different to just give them everything they need to not have any reason to even try to learn. Its rediculous. I've seen a lot of people from other countries here that i've gotten to know, and they're very kind and they work really hard in order to learn the language and understand. They put in that effort, and any slip ups and what not are just overlooked because they're actually trying. But I use to work at the elementrary school that is in my town in the afterschool program, and I had the kindergarteners and first graders. And I would get so angry when parents would come in to pick up their kids and not speak a lick of english. We have to talk to the parents from time to time, and we often have to tell them what homework they need to finish, or how they behaved that day, and we couldn't get anything past these people. And their kids were usually the ones that really needed the help or were really misbehaving. We'd have to have the kids translate for us, but you just know damn well that they're not going to tell their parents that they were bad or had homework to do. Just UGH! lol |
I never told my parents anything I didn't have to... and they spoke english! *rofl*
|
I hope you're enjoying your vacation Ry-face! x)
|
Haha. Exaaactly, Faux.
It got really irritating when we were trying to do our job. We had one kid that was so behind in his classes and didn't understand what we were telling him. We would try to teach him, and he's just want us to tell him the answer. And we'd try to talk to his parents and let them know that they need to work with him on it and make him do the work, but they didn't understand us. And then we had one kid that was a major problem. He was stealing things and causing fights and kept trying to do stuff with the little girls, and he was even hitting on me. Mind you that this is only a first grader. And he would be there until after they were supposed to already be gone everyday - his parents were always late. And then we'd try to talk to them and tell them the correct time and that they need to talk to their son about all the trouble his is causing, but they understood no english. It got so frustrating. And then you get the ignorant parents that are American and speak english and everything, but just sucky parents. -__- They treated our afterschool program more like a babysitter than anything else. |
I agree with all you guys...
Oh, and Roachi...I think that the so-called "Ivy League" schools are highly over-rated. They turn out a bunch of people that don't know anything except how to go to school. Give me an engineering or technical school any day. |
And they're totally full of snobs
Yuck |
And they have lousy football and basketball teams...

I'd say lol. I think people with life experience are far better then people who have been cooped up in universities their entire lives. But i mean i'm not speaking for everyone, just the general population. |
Thanks again for keeping this place alive, you guys~ :'D <3<3
*hugglesquishes* Still not back in the Mene groove just yet. Been going out the whole time with friends and family to celebrate. XP Just yesterday was my younger brother's graduation from high school! <3 It was a nice celebration. :'> It's 7:51am here right now though, which is super odd since it's way too effin' early for me to be awake. =_=;; I blame my dreams (they're back!). xDD;; Gonna go out later still as well. XP You know, reclaiming my social life and stabilizing it first. xDD;; I felt like such an angry hermit while I was slaving away at schoolwork. ^^;; And my other friends need some Ryry-loving too, you know~ >;D <3<3 Also, on the topic of that American prat, don't worry about it anymore. ^^;; I normally don't get so worked up about stuff like that, since there always will be prats in the world and ranting about one doesn't do me any good. But, the stress from the time I posted that got to me, hence my sort of violent reaction to it. XP I'm fine now though~ <3 I will get back to posting asap! Once I feel like I have to energy to do so~ xDD;; <3<3 |
Ohh yay for your bro nae! <33
And okay then, have fun! ^^ |

And they smell like cashmere. Ewwww.
I hate when I see people say "YOUR IN AMERICA, SPEAK ENGLISH." xD Really? |
Ry! Welcome back!
That's OK.... say hi and have fun with all your rl friends. We'll still be here when you're ready! |
@ Chi : Thanks~! ^^ And he got accepted into the same university as I did. :'D <3<3 Of course, he's in a totally different course (he's gonna be taking up Computer Sciences while I stick with my math-less Journalism), but yeah, kinda cool I guess. XP <3<3
@ Jean and Keyori : You both took up Engineering? =O Cool then~ :'D <3<3 @ Estrella : Shouldn't you speak English in America though if you know how to? =O @ Jean : Thank you~! :'D <3<3 I'm easing my way back into Mene slowly now. Right now I just replied to all my regular threads here in the Quest forums! ^^ So, that's a good start, I think. XP <3<3 |
Its nice to see ryry back *huggles*
|
*hugglesquishes back*
Thank you Cora~! :'D <3<3 Can't say I'm totally back yet though. ^^;; Have to start getting ready for my lunch date with some friends and later on a movie marathon/pool party with some other friends. xDD;; |

|
Yeah~ XP <3<3
I'm a little tired from going out so much though, but it's a good kind of tired. :'D <3<3 |
@Nae - Aww well that's awesome. He must be as intelligent as you! My friend is only just turning 24 this year, and he'll have his masters in computer sciences at the end of this year lol. Smart bugger! xD
|
Will you have a day of rest soon though....its not healthy to not have a down time day now and then.

Okay, it totally is funny. xD |
@ Chi : I'm the least smart in the family, I think. xDD;; He's tons more intelligent as me. If not lazier than me as well. xDD;; And wow, congratulations to you friend then~! =O <3<3
@ Cora : Don't worry, once I go to my mountain home for a couple days tomorrow I'll get all the rest I need. ^^ <3<3 @ Estrella : Oh, wait, I totally didn't get that. xDD;; Silly me. XP |
Still fairly smart! xDD
|
