thats cool :D I used google and like 10 diff sites xD

Sforzando 10-18-2008 02:41 AM

I love google. [And that vampyr book I have is nothing compared to what I call my "book of knowledge." Its a journal filled to the brim with information I've got off the internet about random things, from death to vampires, to rainbows, werewolves, and that big long alphabetical list of mythical creatures they have in wikipedia. But, I should probably actually read the stuff I hve in there.]

That statement is half true because there is a subculture of "Vampires".

As for the paranormal in general it interests me and I do study it. I have also been on ghost hunts with friends and we have some very strange and scary evidence from a few of the places we have checked out.

Sforzando 10-18-2008 02:48 AM

blueblackrose, zacky and I were just talking about how there are vampires, which are fictional, and vampyrs, which are not the fictional ones.

Werent we? *confused.*

"The vampire lifestyle (or vampyre subculture) is an alternative lifestyle, based on the modern perception of vampires in popular fiction. It has been noted that the Vampire subculture has stemmed largely from the Goth subculture,[1] but also incorporates some elements of the S/M subculture.[2] The subculture is so prevalent and involved as to result in the publication of at least two glossy magazines devoted to the topic, while the Internet remains a prevalent forum for the community.[3]"

"Sanguinarians
Taken from the Latin sanguineus meaning "blood-thirsty, Bloody or reddish in color", a sanguinarian is someone who has a need or craving for blood. This desire is non-erotic in nature. A Sanguinarian will not die if he or she does not consume blood."
then there is also

Quote:

"Psychic vampires
Dion Fortune wrote of psychic parasitism in relation to vampirism as early as 1930 (considering it a combination of psychic and psychological pathology) in "Psychic Self-Defense".[10][11] The term "psychic vampire" first gained attention in the 1960s with the publication of Anton LaVey's Satanic Bible"
But Vampyres are more common in this day and age

Oh, a little off topic from what we were talking about:

I like to look up pictures of ghosts. Some of the are pretty creepy.

And also, here are a few things we were discussing about vampires in my english class:

My teacher said that kids are vampires because they suck the life out of their parents, and without thinking (I was actually, kind of spacing out) I said that parents are vampires because they suck the fun out of everything. Yup, fun-suckers.

EDIT: That's it. Those are the ones' I've heard of. The Sanguinarians.

yes Sanguinarian vampires are the more commonly refered to and lol my parents suck life and fun from me xD hate strict parents at least my dads layed back my moms the serious one ;P

Sforzando 10-18-2008 03:24 AM

Well, with the sanguarians, it was actually something I found when I looked up vampires. Along with succubi and... what was the other one similar to succubi?

Yeah, my mom was kinda pissy today, and it made me angry, when I did nothing. But just now, we talked, and found out its all my brother's fault. So I'm good. My dad sucks the fun though. He makes me listen to those stupid political debates and AM radio and doesn't let us listen to music very loud or make any noise or anything. But I have ways to get around that.

zacky16 10-18-2008 05:16 PM

Im really not sure Ive read next to nothing about succubi >_< thow in the information i used they do mention them every now and then

Thoth Star 10-18-2008 08:08 PM

@DOOM: Really? Paranormal stuff scares me... =______=

~~~~~~
@Lt. Summers: Yes, those are considered paranormal too, though the debate is on about whether their more mythological or not... Many paranormal creatures and events are considered mythological. Even though I don't believe in vampiric existence we can still debate it if you like... *nod enthusiastically* ^^
~~~~~~~

@zacky: Right you are! Personally, I think demonic possession is more possible than a vampire attacking a human... but thats just my opinion. XD

Wow, I'm very glad that you made it out of the burning cabin safely!
Did you faint from the smoke?

~~~~~~
@Rylynne: Maybe you do have a third eye (behind your forehead)! Yes, I believe in the hinduistic translation of the 3rd eye. The spirit eye is what its originally called...
Yes, I was so scared... If you do have special abilities to see spirits you would have been absolutely terrified... The ghost even grabbed my arm and left 5 finger-like bruises on my bicep. I screamed... And I'm a guy so I NEVER scream. TT__________TT
Oh my gosh, that story about the little girl (your first ghost experience) sounds really freaky! I would have been all, "Lets go investigate this house right now!" Lol.
~~~~~~~~

@blue: Thats awesome! What type of evidence or knowledge did you gather from ghost-hunting? *curious*

HIM_ROCK 10-18-2008 09:20 PM

YAY finally another paranormal discussion place on here after the last one closed.

Thoth Star 10-18-2008 09:22 PM

Oh I didn't even realize the last one was closed....
Do you know why it closed?

How are you him rock?

HIM_ROCK 10-18-2008 09:26 PM

The person who ran the last one left the site. So it's good to have one back.

I'm alright thanks Thoth Star, how are you ?

Sforzando 10-19-2008 02:04 AM

Oh! Ohhhh!!! I remember! The other vampire similar to a succubus was an incubus.

`Kitami 10-19-2008 04:58 AM

Oooh Gab this is really cool. ^_^
I'm really into the paranormal. Like I study it; UFOs, mythology, life after death, vampires, ghosts...all that. (: Thanks for inviting me here!

Ghosts and vampires are my favorites, although I suppose vampires would be considered part of mythology, unless we're talking about sanguinarians....which I've also read about...

Ghosts...I've had like a lot of ghost encounters, and my first ones were when I was pretty young, so that's why I'm so into them. My first major one was really scary and so I've always wanted to learn about them....

zacky:: Succubus and Incubus are like vampires or demons (I'm not sure which at the moment) that feed off of sex. Incubus is the male form and succubus is the female form.

Sforzando 10-19-2008 05:01 AM

I knew that incubus and succubus feeded off of sex, but I couldn't remember which was which. Thank you, `Kitami.

`Kitami 10-19-2008 06:54 AM

You're welcome.
You can call me Kita if you'd like. ^_^

Aerin of the Bow 10-19-2008 12:46 PM

Ooh yay, a paranormal thread! :3

I haven't had any paranormal experiences yet, but I'd like to have one. Does anyone else here watch Ghost Hunters? Yeah, that show pretty much solidified my belief in ghosts. Some of the evidence they've gathered just blows my mind. That, and I know a lot of trustworthy people who've had experiences.

I have seen something weird in the sky though, but I'm not really sure what it was. I'm hesitant to call it a UFO, because I don't know if there's a logical explanation for it or not. It was at night, during a full moon. My mom and I were at a football game, and I happened to be looking up at the moon. All of a sudden what looked like a black vertical line came from the left of the moon and just moved slowly over it. I made my mom look and she was just as confused as I was. It took about a minute or so to pass over the moon, and then if it was still there it blended into the sky so I couldn't see it. I don't know if it was a shadow or what, but then again I'm not sure what could make a shadow like that on the moon. :/

HIM_ROCK 10-19-2008 03:43 PM

The only downside to the paranormal YVETTE FIELDING!!!! She screams so much it'd probibly scare the paranormal off.

`Kitami 10-19-2008 10:19 PM

Aerin:: Ghost Hunters is one of my favorite shows. :3

I think anything weird you see in the sky would be classified as a UFO, because if its not something you can find a name for, an explanation for, then that would in fact make it an Unidentified Flying Object, ne? :3
In any case, I've seen a lot of them. I saw the same one all the time when I was a little girl. It was silver, shaped like a cigar, and moved completely silently and very slowly. I saw it only on completely cloudless sunny days, and I showed it to a bunch of adults that were with me at different times- mom, dad, grandparents, my grandma's friend... They all agreed that it was strange and even stranger that it kept reappearing. My dad even said that he could remember seeing the same thing when he was a child. O.o
Speaking of it, I saw it last week for the first time in like 7 years....
