Anyone else a fan of Japanese music?
I'm not sure if there's any other thread like this, and if there is, I apologize.
I just love Japanese music (J-rock, J-pop, Visual Kei, anime, traditional, etc), and I'm almost certain there are people out there like me. Let's discuss and recommend our favourite songs? I'll start. A few of my current favourites are: Doubt & Trust - Access Anata ga Koko ni Iru Riyuu - Rie Fu Actuate Eden - Phantasmagoria Regret - Hoshimura Mai Birth - D Moral no Soushiki - Angela Aki I'm always looking for new music to listen to, so do pimp your favourites! :) |
My favorite bands are:
Miyavi- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XudLFGcb2UM Dir en Grey- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cG-_HekZ7k8 Plastic Tree- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTqhhgNN8-w And other bands like Gackt, Malice Mizer, the Gazette, etc. etc. :] |
Ah, Miyavi. I like his image and style, but I can't say I'm fond of his singing. That's one of the few Dir en Grey songs I don't mind. One of their latest, Glass Skin, is pretty good too. Plastic Tree is new to me. I like them so far. XD
Oh, I love Gackt. XD" I prefer Moi Dix Mois to Malice Mizer though. Any songs to recommend from the Gazette? I heard a song or two from them, but wasn't too impressed. Maybe I just heard the wrong ones..? :) Speaking of VK though, I like Kagrra, and Abingdon Boys School (although I'm not sure I consider them VK). XD" And I really hope SKIN releases an album soon! |
ME i love them lol
|
I love J-Rock and Visual-Kei. Honestly I'm not entirely sure what the actual defined difference is, so if you know I'd love it if you'd explain. :] Anywho, my favorite songs: Versailles "Zombie" (video made by me) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deTJNN6iMLs Pierrot "Yuuyami Suicide" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6A8uCCCHHpY Ali Project "Boukoku Kakusei Catharsis" Ali Project ~ Boukoku Kakusei Catharsis Angelo "He Is A Monkey" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI1TkfP7H-0 [Yes the lead singer for Pierrot and Angelo are the same man, fyi] |
Of course there's people who like japanese music, it's so main stream nowadays lol : D
and yes, i like some j-rock too. Because i like rock, and the japanese is no different im sorry girls : D (well okay that's different that they look like girls haha) |
I like Japanese music as well. Pierrot would have to be my favorite band and my favorite song by them is Sarubia:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rDJRK_uXHI Visual Kei-isn't that a form of J-Rock that relies on elaborate costumes and stage antics? Kind of like Glam, but in Japan? |
Quote:
Woo! Another Pierrot fan. :D Too bad they're not a band anymore. Do you like Kirito's new band, Angelo? |
Quote:
Oooh! Have you heard of LM.C? |
To be different, my favorite Japanese band is ScReW.
I also really like Lucy (both Vis-Kei, and the Punk band.) Though, I think my heart would have to go to BLOOD, because I just love Kiwamu. |
Well, the only japaneese music I've really listen to is X Japan and hide. They're pretty okay. I had an obsession with the song rocket dive by hide a while back :P
|
I loved X Japan, and Sexmachineguns. I never could get into hide's solo work. Though Pink Spider was kind of catchy.

@Kottori; I'm a fan of Nightmare. :3 I have to say that their Libido album was my favorite. <33 |
There are a numerous amount of artists that I love. I listen to pratically only that. And a few english/american bands and one chinese (I think) girl group called YUMMY YUMMY. They are really good. And their voices are just so adorable. Who here loves alan? She is kinda a new comer to the scene. Her huge hit with alot of people is the song for the movie Red Cliff, it is just beautiful, you could cry listening to it (the first one that is).
|
I love listening to Japanese Music, Because well, I can understand it.
And it is alot more poetic then pathetic tanslations. But Maximum the Hormone.. All sounds like english (misheard lyrics lol) Really now, and I was able to Meet Becca because of my love for Japanese music. But she is American, but popular in japan, You should check out Becca X3 |
