The Doctor (Ten) says he can "always" sense Time Lords but maybe that means if a person is in front of him or somewhere near him he can sense whether they're a Time Lord. Rather than him being able to tell if there are any in the whole universe. I'm just grasping straws here; everyone seems to have a greater in-depth knowledge of the whole situation than myself. ^^;
There's going to be an audiobook made later this year (An Earthly Child) featuring the Eighth Doctor visiting Earth to meet Susan and her son but I'll just assume everything outside of the television series is 'non-canon'. |
::wonders idly again whether there might not be a spin-off involving Jenny::
|
The Sun claim Jenny is going to be in one of this year's specials but they are usually

NO!!
My Tardis turned into an Adipoe!! |
I wonder why it seems to have dressed up as Indiana Jones.
I thought it was going to be a Dalek. ^^; |
Wrong hat, Kat.
It's more of a safari hat. Makes me think of Victorian explorers like David Livingstone. |
I seriously need one of those now. ;p
|
Yeah, unfortunately, it's no longer available so far as I can tell.
|
I figured that out when I went looking for it - that and it would be yet another site to be part of.

I thought the thing it was holding looked a bit like a whip. ^^;
Ah, I just watched the second Children of Earth trailer, I don't know why I thought I'd already seen it. Loving dramatic Gwen. Edit: Link and I've just read it will be shown on BBC HD. Yay! |
Way more than 5 hours have passed so I think this double post is okay. XD
I saw a trailer for Torchwood: Children of Earth on television yesterday. The first episode is on Monday 6th July (next Monday) 9pm BBC 1/BBC HD. I know the American and Australian BBC channels are showing the episodes at more or less the same time (allowing for time difference) but I have no idea where and when exactly. Oop, there's a Torchwood radio play on Radio 4 in about 10 minutes too. >.< |
awesome! I'll have to look that up when I get home. Is that the American BBC? Otherwise, it won't be so soon for me.
|
Yeahhh.... 9pm in England . . . would be... around ... (acktimezonesackihatemath!) I think 2/3pm here on the eastern seaboard of the US.
One problem with that will be whether I'm at work, and the other problem: will it show on one of the channels I get (basic cable here, nothing fancy)? Which... may mean I have to wait a year for Sci-fi channel to get it, if they don't show it already. No. According to this Wiki article, Torchwood isn't showing in America until July 20th, and - damn! - only on BBC America, which I don't get as part of basic cable. |
I'm sorry, Connie. We get it but there is still that long wait. Hopefully, after it comes out they will air it on youtube or something.
|
Or Sci-fi.
Sci-fi has a habit of eventually airing those shows. It's got Dr. Who and Sarah Jane. I'm hoping Torchwood will be on it too. Edit: Nothing showing for any of the three shows, for July and August. |
Anything in America for BBC has to be shown after BBC airs them - some sort of airing rights I think. Shows will be on BBC America before Sci-Fi. It's like a trickle down effect.

But...
That confuses me. Because Donna can't be reminded of the Doctor or she'll die. But if her grandpa just up and disappears . . . how will it be explained to her? . . . . And isn't it a bit early to know that info? Not to mention that usually they're pretty mum on the topic of the specials . . . |
So simultaneously means a fortnight apart now? I wasn't going to trust wikipedia but I found an article with the dates for Torchwood as well as the Doctor Who specials if anyone hasn't seen yet here. I think I'll have to record some of the episodes if not all of them anyway and HD recording takes up so much room on the hard drive (I did see the trailer in HD after Today at Wimbledon though, aieee).
I'm poking around the BBC America Torchwood website now (so much better than ours!) and the cast look so shiny in the wallpaper it's hilarious.... but it came in 1280x1024 so I'm using it. XD I missed the radio play today, but I downloaded it (they're available for 7 days after broadcast on the Radio 4 website but only in the UK) so I'll try and find a quiet 45 minutes before the one tomorrow is aired to listen to it. Torchwood: Asylum was surprisingly good, although if you don't like PC Andy I'd give it a miss. There's a picture of Bernard Cribbins filming with David Tennant, allegedly for this years Christmas special, so I'd say it's fair he's definitely going to appear again. |
|
There was a thunderstorm here today after a week of almost unbearable heat. I'd forgotten what rain was like. Wet.
I don't know if you were talking to me there ljos but I've posted the picture under this spoiler tag here. SPOILERPeople in Cardiff are pretty wise to locations used in Doctor Who and Torchwood and from reading reports it seems they don't turn away crowds or mind people taking photos. |
|
Oooooo a thread for the Doctor!
I need to remember to finish watching season three. I only have two or three episodes left before I can move onto Season four. Oh, a special's coming out on Monday? Darn it! I don't think that my TV gets BBC. Ah well, I suppose I'll just have to wait until it's online. |
Those lovely Welsh vowels... I'm listening to the second of the radio plays now. They're in Torchwood India and a Duchess is trying to kill 'Captain H'. XD
Hello Kasorin. The new series of Torchwood is being shown over over the weekdays, in the UK the week beginning July 6th and in the US the week beginning July 20th. |
Hello all :)
