Chyeah... You're probably exposed to a lot for adult stuff at school than here.

zeapear 12-17-2010 02:57 AM

Yeah, surrounded by a bunch of pubescent 13 year olds for six hours a day? What could possibly go wrong xD

Lost in Austen 12-17-2010 03:00 AM

Hehehe. I've always said, that's about the age where there are the most immature kids. It gets better later on, I swear. There are still immature people, but they're just less obnoxious about it.

zeapear 12-17-2010 03:00 AM

Yeah, some of the kids are rather vulgar xD

Lost in Austen 12-17-2010 03:02 AM

Yeahh.... I just realized the movie ratings are growing more lax these days. I mean, the movies that were rated PG-13 ten years ago, probably woulda been rated PG now. It's weird. haha.

zeapear 12-17-2010 03:04 AM

Indeed it is, I'm not sure if this has changed much, but also the things parents are allowing children to see. The majority of my classmates (not me) have all seen at least one R rated movie.

Lost in Austen 12-17-2010 03:12 AM

I watched my first R-rated movie when I was ten. It was The Patriot with Mel Gibson. My mom thought it would be an educational historical movie and she didn't realize it was rated R until it was too late. lol.

zeapear 12-17-2010 03:13 AM

xD Oops. I think the worst I've seen is M, maybe possibly MA.

Sorry if I occasionally ask you for random advice, I'm writing up an interactive murder mystery.

Lost in Austen 12-17-2010 03:25 AM

Ah. I take it that Australia uses a different rating system? We only use "M" for video games.

That's quite alright. I'll try to help with what I can. What's it about?

AkashaHeartilly 12-17-2010 04:20 AM

The Patriot is hilarious, in ways that it should not be.

Man, this thread moved a bunch since I went to take a nap a few hours ago.

Cherry Who? 12-17-2010 05:29 AM

*late to the conversation* I think the earliest I joined a forum by myself at and kept up with it was at 11. I had been on a few before then but I'd either quickly lose interest or have my mom helping me. I wasn't breaking (or rather, causing the site to break) any COPPA laws, though, it was a children's forum. But then I did go on to join ezboard a few months before my 13th birthday.

Which means... I've been on the internet for a very long time.

TaiyoTsuki 12-17-2010 05:29 AM

I'm gonna be hitting the rack once I'm done getting my daily dose of the Doctor.

Cherry Who? 12-17-2010 05:29 AM

I think you mean "sack."

AkashaHeartilly 12-17-2010 05:31 AM

I barely remember going online before about the age 13, which is when start going to the teen center and they had a computer. Family was poor, so I didn't really grow up going online all that much. Didn't have a computer with internet in the house till I was about 17, and pretty internet savy by that point.

Once plus with being back home, family has cable with the BBC, watchign Dr.Who on christmas.

Connielass 12-17-2010 05:40 AM

::grabby hands at kitty::
I miss my kitties. :(

TaiyoTsuki 12-17-2010 05:41 AM

@ Cherry: "Rack" is Navy lingo for the bed.

@ Akashi: I wish my family had BBC America. Gotta love the Internet.

AkashaHeartilly 12-17-2010 06:00 AM

The internet is fucking amazing, I have no clue what i would do without it. My main way of getting Dr.Who outside of when I have tv. Use to have it with comcast and on demand, that made who lovins easier.

And sock pattern, http://wittylittleknitter.com/wp-con...cksPattern.png
Once I figure it out myself, I will be making some. I'm bad following written directions. I also need to knit a tardis ipod case.

Cherry Who? 12-17-2010 06:33 AM

Taiyo - Ahh, gotcha. Sorry, wasn't familiar with the term.

Akasha - Hmm, that doesn't look like it's going to end up sock-shaped. But I'll show it to my mom and see what she thinks.
Did that come on a page that had any further instructions/explanations? Like, is that part just supposed to be on the leg?

KatMagenta 12-17-2010 07:22 PM

When we first got the internet at home it was dial-up on my dad's computer so I needed my parent's permission to use the internet and then only if my dad wasn't using his computer for something else. My own desktop was in the same room so that meant my parents could just walk past at any time so they didn't ever stand and watch... my dad watched me play Tetris sometimes though. Strange man. =P

I thought today was the day to buy the Saturday Sun for the Doctor Who DVD and didn't understand why it wasn't in the newsagents... it's Friday. >.<

AkashaHeartilly 12-18-2010 08:51 AM

Not that I found, i looked back and found nada, but i had first found it posted on a link on Dr/Who section of I can haz cheeseburger, so, going with that. Going to show the friend who taught me how to knit and see how she can help with it. If these socks work, it's daleak, sock time!

I remember when I first was going online and AOL was the shit, along with beingin AOL chat rooms. it's been ages since I was in a real chat room, I don't count the ones for games. Few years ago, had to g back on dial-up, worst thing ever, nevar again.

Also, slightly tipsy at this moment, I should tell people to bring banana's to party's.

MLIN - MyLifeIsNerdy

It's mostly Doctor Who related. Seriously.

Cherry Who? 12-20-2010 06:22 PM

That's a cool site! Although one of them confuses me...
Quote:

When I was little, while other kids would play mario bros and sonic stuff, I played brain age and big brain academy. MLIN
In what time were Sonic games new and Brain Age games existed? And... I thought the Brain Age games were pretty new, so is this person still "little"?

TaiyoTsuki 12-20-2010 08:48 PM

Sorry for the days-long poof! I'm at home, meaning I've got to catch-as-catch-can when it comes to the Internet.

And I'm re-reading my Doctor Who and Torchwood novels for a lack of anything better to do. Plus I'm signing up for my spring semester classes. I get to say goodbye to my life (and craploads of snow!) in January! :XD

Lost in Austen 12-20-2010 09:04 PM

Cherry: Hmm, I didn't think of that. I never played any of the Brain Age games. When did they first come out?

Cherry Who? 12-20-2010 09:32 PM

2005. Well past the reign of Sonic. I mean, they still spit out a Sonic every now and then, but it's BS like that Sonic vs. Mario snowboarding thing. I guess the person who submitted that MLIN is even more out of touch than they thought.
